Agree with the other commenter; Your energy is top notch! Laughed more than once watching this 😂 Hope you enjoy the game, it's fantastic! A couple of (non-spoiler) tips: - In the options menu you can toggle a checkbox to pause the game while in the PDA (useful if u don't wanna go to the surface to read stuff or swap out tools on your hotbar). - There is an icon in the lower right corner that is visible if ur looling at something you can scan, and I do recommend scanning everything. And; Yes, the lights are fine! Looking forward to the next ep!
thank you so much!!! and that’s super helpful !! thank you ! i’ll have to incorporate those the next time i play! i’ll definitely start scanning more , i love learning about the world building they did in this game !!
Just a few helpful tips. Scan everything. Read everything. The story comes together beautifully if you do. Great gameplay. Looking forward to episode 2 🎉🎉 Edit: Pause PDA breaks up the immersion of the game. I always had that option disabled. It gives the game a much more realistic feel. Also, a small scanner icon appears on the bottom right of the screen for things you havent scanned before. It helps you utilize the scanner to its full potential :)
i will thank you!!! i’ll make sure to do better in my next recording and try to piece together the story even more!! and very true, i started experimenting with the PDA pause in my latest recording, i agree it does break up the immersion. thank you so much!! i’ve noticed i’ve missed a few things to scan in my last parts and that little icon will help me get more of the story!!!
Scan everything that flashes the scan symbol on the screen, and carefully read your PDA - that's the only general advice anyone in Subnautica needs. Skipping the PDA is a mistake in this game unless you are pre-determined to experience it the hard way and without much understanding of the story. True, the PDA gives you a lot of information to read, but - it is most definitely worth it. And once you start reading everything, you'll soon realize which parts are actually important, and which ones you can skip.
thank you!! a few commenters have alerted me to that icon so now i’ll be able to do better at scanning everything!! i’ll make sure to catch up on reading as well as reading everything more thoroughly ! i suppose i was a bit concerned with overloading viewers w information but i definitely agree. games, especially subnautica, are all about the story so i’ll do better at showing that story!!
Oh man I had this same idea of wearing a snorkel for my first Subnautica thumbnail, but never actually did it! 😄 I'm currently playing through this game as well, having a lot of fun and getting some good viewership, I hope it does well for you too!

Please take medkits out of the green fabricator as soon as they're finished. You'll want to stockpile several of them so you can bring some first aid along each time you venture into danger. (IOW, each time you venture practically anywhere for now. 😉)
probably really late on this, but to dogde crashfish, either outrun with a seaglide (straight line) or dogde it by swimming directly at it and just glancing it. As long as they had some decent speed, their momentum carries on and it usually takes them to long to turn around to get you. This can be done with just standard flippers (deathrun remade player so I know how to dodge just about anything).
Like a lot of people have said, you have a scan indicator in the bottom right of the screen. Unfortunately, it’s in the bottom right and fairly dull so you have to train yourself to notice it especially on a large monitor
thank you!! yeah, i definitely didn’t even notice that icon at first but now i’ll be able to get better at recognizing it and scanning everything i can!!
It's funny...in searching for cave sulfer, invariably, you run from it!😅 The death by fish occurred because it detonated near acid mushrooms that ACTUALLY killed you
@@dikoee According to Google it is very difficult but possible for a good swimmer with some equipment like a monofin. That said - the character in Subnautica doesn't really jump out of the water entirely. It's more like what you can see in butterfly stroke swimming competitions. Imagine someone using that style, just with the addition of a monofin or something like that for additional speed. It is possible to avoid this "jump" out of the water in Subnautica btw - you only have to slow down when approaching the surface.

It is so funny to me how you grasp the concepts of the game within 30 minutes, while other streamers uselessly mill around without a clue after eight hours! XD However, your FPS-Reflexes don´t do you any favours in Subnautica. Take your Time. Look around. When you can scan something, the indicator will show you, but if you are spazzing around FPS-Style, the indicator will just flash for a millisecond and you´ll miss it. The sulphur situation was even worse for me. During my first try, there were NO sulphurplants. AT ALL. I had to restart. No idea what happened there. If you are wondering what you need something for (like bleach), try it. Craft it once, and the PDA should tell you. Sometimes you even get a new Blueprint.
