I'm just happy that some of our beautiful Australian scented plants are finally being highlighted. I have worn Boronia oil as a perfume since the 70s and finding this house is like scent heaven.
You are sooo right and spot on about Silky Woods scent. Just picked up a 10ml of Silky Woods to try. Have heard other reviews and your review,as always,is spot on.Initial spray is a smokey vanilla/caramel,woodsy/suede that settles down to sweet wood on me. On me, it somewhat reminds me of TFTL,Oud and a vanilla end. Very nicely done and worth a sampler to try . Wood/suede/smokey vanilla!
I agree... I absolutely love vanilla! It’s one note I don’t think I could ever grow tired of especially because it blends so well with an array of notes and accords.
I've never seen you so excited about something. Now I have to test it out. But judging from the name I wouldn't look into this fragrance as I don't like woody fragrance too much but love vanilla gourmands. Thank you.
Surprisingly vanilla is becoming rarer every year since the Madagascan harvests are going down. But oriental spicey vanilla!?!? And oud as well, my goodness. Oh yes please I have never tried any of Goldfield a& Banks fragrances before. But the description of oud and vanilla sounds amazing.... thanks again Sebastian. :-) and greetings from the capitol of Switzerland 🇨🇭 😀.
I have this and almost returned it as it so strongly reminded me of a more vanillic Casablanca (Swiss Arabian). But I tried it about a month after it arrived and BOY HOWDY IS THIS ADDICTIVE AND SMOOTH. The caramel still reminds me of cheaper caramel scents but the experience is just so lux and chic and enticing. I’m keeping this sucker. Bottle is GORGEOUS.
I wanted to know how it smells, now I know, love vanilla, it's my favorite Ice cream, this is right up my alley. I have Pacific Rock Moss and Bohemian Lime, want a bottle of Southern Bloom don't like the opening find it too feminine, but the dry down is pure magic and more unisex. Also want Desert Rosewood and Wood Infusion. Thank you Sebastian!!!
My favorite of this house is White Sandalwood, just got my order recently and with it a sample of Silky Woods, its lovely and like you say not too sweet!
Nicely done as always. Get a sampler to try first. Spot on ! Smokey Vanilla/ Caramel, woodsy/suede throughout and dries down to a soft sweet wood and a touch of vanilla. A little like TFTL and a soft sweeter, suede oud. Projects well.Very nicely done by Goldfield&Banks. Want to try Wiff of a Waffle as well. Great Review!🏊♂️
I haven’t met a goldfield and banks fragrance I haven’t enjoyed yet. I’m wearing White Sandalwood today. I have a full bottle of velvet Splendour and samples of silky woods and pacific rock moss coming in in a few days! I’m excited
Sebastian you make this fragrance sound really delicious. I must try it now. I'm like you obsessed with vanilla. I wear it when I need sweet scents. Thanks for the review. I will go participate in the giveaways now.
Wow sounds like a wonderful smell. Thanks for the fantastic review, Sebastian. I only smell, till now , the Pacific Rock Moss and the Southern Bloom from Goldfield & Banks…. Many greetings from Germany.
This was my reference video for Silky Woods, thank you! I just picked it up from Scentbar (LuckyScent retail store) and can’t wait to wear it out tonight.
Been seeing this one pop up everywhere and so glad you reviewed it and make us understand what this one is all about. I'm not a fan of vanilla too much but curious to test it out. Thank you.
I love vaniyla but only if it's not too sweet. If too sweet might not work in tropical xountry where I live. I do want check this one. I enjoy pacifics rock moss, enjoy the beachy mood wit it.
I have been eyeing this one on fragrantica for a while! Haven't tried any of the fragrances from this house but I'm intrigued. Silky Wood is the one that I'm interested the most! Love me some vanilla warm scents! Would love to try it! (EU)
Ciao from Milan! I love Goldfield and Banks fragrances !! Actually I own white sandalwood, blue cypress, bohemian lime , southern blossom , velvet splendour and wood infusion and I love them so.much !!! I don't know silky wood .... one of these days I'll try it surely !!! A big hug from Italy !!
Was about to pull the trigger on this fragrance...but know your doing a giveaway so let me try my luck...you can never have to much vanilla in your collection
I have been long time viewer of Sebastián Chanel and of course I bought a lot of things he recommended over the years. We moved from Seattle to Sydney and now I am exploring fragrances representing Australia this beautiful country I call home now. I love this video because I love gourmand fragrances. I personally have several: angle share by Kilian, black phantom by Kilian, charstle by pdm, changing constance by penhaligons. I would love to have a bottle from Australian exotic ingredients. I am also a lover of vanilla. I have both tobacco vannile and Ani. Thanks for the video and I will definitely explore the brand in Sydney.
I really wanna try couple of fragrances from this house. They're sound promising, especially Pacific Rock Moss. I might try to find some samples to test them out.
Very different. Tihota is very much pure vanilla and musk and nothing else. Even though this is vanillic a lot I do definitely get the woods and spices and the caramel and butterscotch nuances. I say test it to see! :)
When I smelled this, I thought it smelled like something Akro would come out with if the theme of addiction was “addicted to vanilla” lol Still a great scent overall.
My wife likes pacific rock moss on me from G&B, esp in summer. Silky woods dries down to a nice subtle warm vanilla on me. I have several go to vanilla based frags already, so unlikely to spring for this one esp at a 100ml size. But it is quite nice.
Never tried this house and am on a fragrance journey! Love vanilla mmmmmm. I am playing with oud so the description of oud and vanilla sounds amazing. Love the bottle and would love to win a bottle! (US)
I was keen to try it too but I feel their fragrances dont last v long the experience I had with Pacific Rock Moss and Bohemian lime and have all their collection samples. Seb you did not discuss the performance of this fragrance please do.
Finally, was waiting for your review about this one ☝🏼. I love this house, my favorites Southern Bloom which I own , Desert Rosewood and white sandalwood. Who doesn’t like Vanilla 😉.. like the presentation ( box )

I love silky woods. But it just had no longevity at all and fior that price theres tooo many others on the market that are similar and cheaper that perform better. Like instant crush. It reminds me sooo much of instant crush.

Bonhemian Lime from Goldfield and Banks is also so good. I really want to explore more from this house.
Very familiar dna- it is similar to the following: mfk gentle fluidity gold, cousins to mancera roses vanille and intense cafe

I just bought casablanca today (20%promo) swiss arabian, so i will partner it my vanilla
Vanilla is such a versatile note that I can't imagine why anyone would object to it. Idk- I'm 100% addicted too.
This or MFK Grand Soir? Which one should I purchase?

You can’t love vanilla too much. I agree with you !
:)
My favorite of this house is White Sandalwood, just got my order recently and with it a sample of Silky Woods, its lovely and like you say not too sweet!
Can’t help but admire your passion! True reviewer!
Vanilla is also my favorite note, followed by amber, tonka bean, cardamom & iris
I ordered a sample immediately when I saw your Instagram post about this! 😊
Hope you like it!
Vanillaaaa. I have been eyeing this fragrance for a long time. I would wear it on the hottest day of the year, no problem!

Hi Seb, is this a Guerlain quality vanilla? 🤔 Anyway looks very interesting to me, will definitely test it.
Proud Aussie and just ordered this. Hoping it becomes my next signature fragrance.

One of the Aussie brands I absolutely adore and this one sounds delicious
Just picked this up ! You review all my favorite fragrances ! ❤️
Ooh awesome!!
Enjoyed your review! I thought this was going to be more of just a creamy Sandalwood fragrance or something without looking at the notes.
Gourmands are a must have
I agree! :)
Vanilla is always great in fragrances. But mostly I wear it in winter during the holidays as it can be comforting for me then.
Thanks for the review, Sebastian! I bought Bohemian Lime and was curious about this one. Based on your review, I need to check this out Thank you!
Been seeing this one pop up everywhere and so glad you reviewed it and make us understand what this one is all about. I'm not a fan of vanilla too much but curious to test it out. Thank you.
This sounds incredible, added to the test list!
I heart vanilla
I love vaniyla but only if it's not too sweet. If too sweet might not work in tropical xountry where I live. I do want check this one. I enjoy pacifics rock moss, enjoy the beachy mood wit it.
Hi Sebastian, I am fascinated by the notes especially Vanilla, Sandalwood, Oud and Incense. Thanks a lot
Are you related to Amna?
@@thandie67 No I am not related

Sounds like a nice epic vanilla which will take you on a journey.....🤔 I have never tried anything from their collections....YET. Great review
As an Aussie,
I haven’t yet tried this house.
Will have to check it out
Favorite note, never too much, Vanilla overload. Can’t wait to experience this, sounds divine.
I’m sore all summer and I think I will finish it this fall
Dear Sebastian, I am intrigued by the Vanilla, Incense and Oud. Thanks a million
Are you related to Osman lol
Excellent review, Sabastian. Been wanting a new vanilla scent. I bind buying it. Great looking bottle. My favorite form G& B is ROSEWOOD 😏😎👍🏽
Was about to pull the trigger on this fragrance...but know your doing a giveaway so let me try my luck...you can never have to much vanilla in your collection
You make me want to try this house. Lovely review!
I love vanilla and was wondering about this one. Glad you like it as I trust your nose on gourmands. Thanx Sebastian for another great review.
Definitely buying this one ..
Sounds delicious! I’ve been wanting to try G&B fragrances, and this sounds wonderful.
My bottle just came in today!! Can't wait to try it out!!

Oh look, another Vanilla that I have to try, yaaaayyyy 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Have you ever done a top vanilla list, Sebastian?
The real questions is how does it compare to Lune Feline, Ani, Remember Me, Lira and Eau Duelle?
Sounds fantastic! I hope Selfridges starts carrying it!
I dig the vanilla. My favorite is Tihota by Indult. How similar or different is Silky Woods?
Very different. Tihota is very much pure vanilla and musk and nothing else. Even though this is vanillic a lot I do definitely get the woods and spices and the caramel and butterscotch nuances. I say test it to see! :)
When I smelled this, I thought it smelled like something Akro would come out with if the theme of addiction was “addicted to vanilla” lol Still a great scent overall.
Oh yeah I can see what you mean. Silky Woods is kind of like a wet sultry liqueur to me, so addiction to vanilla liqueur would fit to the Akro brand
Omg that sounds divine!!
I have an unrelated question.lidge edt or edp which do you suggest. Thank you
How does this one compare to Diptyque eau duelle?
My wife likes pacific rock moss on me from G&B, esp in summer.
Silky woods dries down to a nice subtle warm vanilla on me. I have several go to vanilla based frags already, so unlikely to spring for this one esp at a 100ml size. But it is quite nice.
Hi Sebastian. I have a question is this along the lines of Vanilla Shot from Olfactive Studio? Or is it more Vanilla? Thank you....
Never tried this house and am on a fragrance journey! Love vanilla mmmmmm. I am playing with oud so the description of oud and vanilla sounds amazing. Love the bottle and would love to win a bottle! (US)
Wow❤ This is SOO beautyful.. The best blindbuy ever😅
Creamy delicious Woods 😋 my kinda a fragrance 👌🏻. I’ve never tried Goldfield and Banks as they are not available here in Ireland.
Recommendation- can u do a lab on fire house review
I was keen to try it too but I feel their fragrances dont last v long the experience I had with Pacific Rock Moss and Bohemian lime and have all their collection samples.
Seb you did not discuss the performance of this fragrance please do.
I always wanted to try this brand. 💕
I love vanilla!
I can’t wait to smell it. I love vanilla. Does anyone know of Goldfield and banks stockist in London. I can’t seem to find one.
"How can anyone love vanilla too much?" Not possible! 😄
Sounds like a woody vanilla pudding! But who could possibly love smelling vanilla too much? Eh? Nahhhhhh, could be a great one for layering.
It's never too much vanilla!
There is no such thing as too much vanilla! Definitely on my want list. Your passion for it comes through.
Finally, was waiting for your review about this one ☝🏼. I love this house, my favorites Southern Bloom which I own , Desert Rosewood and white sandalwood.
Who doesn’t like Vanilla 😉.. like the presentation ( box )
vanilla heaven? i like the sound of that, gimme gimme gimme...
If it's your favorite, I'm in!😁👍🙋 Love name too

@@ThePerfumeGuy One last question dear sir, and sorry for the inconvenience, does this Silky Wood perfume smell strong?

I love silky woods. But it just had no longevity at all and fior that price theres tooo many others on the market that are similar and cheaper that perform better. Like instant crush. It reminds me sooo much of instant crush.
Don't have a perfume where vanilla is the core of it so I will check it out..not familiar with the brand either
Thanks for introducing and sharing Sir. 👍👍👍💯💯💯
