    I have a very similar set up touring. Use an 'Overboard ' roll top bag secured with Rok Straps. Used the bag to carry spare riding gear, changed into fully vented gear in the south of France.

    Any reason why.

      Hi graham, never needed underwear strap. Use the two over straps and it’s tmrock steady, under seat strap to me is just another strap that may rub on plastic or seat

      Do you have LED lights on your top box?

    Presumably, when you're touring you to occasionally leave the bike unattended. Do you lock the bag to the bike in anyway and can you lock the zips to keep your possessions secure? Also, is there a reason you don't use the kriega bags now?
    Thanks guys the really informative and clear video.

    • @MOTOUK1
      @MOTOUK1  4 года назад +2

      Hi Zork, so when touring and stopping somewhere it’s usually to have lunch and tbh I park the bike where I can see it as close to me so no issues. You can buy metal nets that can lock bags on like a metal cargo net. Never used one though. Kriega while brilliant bags I prefer roll top as easier access and everything in one bag. When I get to my hotel I just remove two straps and carry bag in to hotel. I can fit all my clothes and camera gear, iPad in this 30lt oxford aqua

    • @garmit61
      @garmit61 4 года назад

      @@MOTOUK1 I've done the same in the past. I usually put a bicycle cable lock through the bag's 'loops' and around the rack and travel padlocks on the zipper's pull tabs to stop opportunist theft. I tried using a pacsafe mesh but the metal chipped the paintwork and i kept catching my boot in the mesh. I even managed a spectacular nose dive at the top of the Passo Del Stelvio pulling my aprilia falco over with me. Not big, not clever, not fun.

    What is the actual width of the bag across the bike. I am doing a tour again this year over 34 days. I may need the 50lt. You mentioned that you also had used a 50lt, do you know the with of that across the saddle?

    • @MOTOUK1
      @MOTOUK1  Год назад +1

      Hi only used the 30lt, but the 50lt Oxford aqua is Approx size when filled:
      • 35cm (H) x 60cm (W) x 34cm (D)

    • @MOTOUK1

    • @MOTOUK1
      @MOTOUK1  3 года назад

      So I still use my kriega it’s just I used the loops from the kriega bags under the seat to loop through the Oxford bag straps. I tend to only uae my kriega 10lt now and if touring the Oxford roll top bag is one piece and easy accessible

    Hello my friend. I have been driving tracer900 for 3 years. I do several day tours in between. I wonder if I can drive with the same comfort as mt10? Would the wind condition be the same as tracer ?

    • @MOTOUK1
      @MOTOUK1  4 года назад +1

      Hi Mehmet, I came from tracer to the 10, no complaints. Seat comfort better on 10, on wind depends what are you running screen on tracer currently and how tall are you? Love my 10 and better than the tracer

      @@MOTOUK1 Thank you for your interest. I'm using givi D2122 on my bike. it's not very long. I find enough. my height is 1.77cm. finally how does fuel economy compare to tracer?

    • @MOTOUK1
      @MOTOUK1  4 года назад +1

      So you won’t get the protection like you do with the givi screen, but the touring screen from Yamaha does an ok job and your shorter than me as I am 6’2 so you should be better on protection than me. Fuel economy mmmm so its an R1 engine so expect fuel light on when riding easy at approx 115-120 miles the reserve will get you 20 miles. On my tracer I could get a lot more. But the grin factor of riding the 10 😃

    Hi, thank you for a great video. I have a MT10 SP also and am also shying away from side panniers. Can you tell me (please) where I can get those small straps which fitted onto the frame bolts. The small straps which the main strap are routed through to "avoid damaging the paintwork"? I think you mentioned Kriega but can I order these separately or do they come with a Kriega luggage set of some kind? Thanks again
