Things You Didn't Know: Yamaha MT-10 / FZ-10
In this video I mention different things that a regular person or a rider would probably not know about the Yamaha MT 10. Due to the higher price range of this motorcycle, manufacturers are able to pack in more features. In this short video I try to go through as many interesting features and quirks this motorbike has to offer. From something as simple as cruise control to having a secret 12v outlet.

I love my mt10. Has the comfort seat and bar heaters. So comfortable. Cruise control saves your wrists on long rides and the tcs system keeps the wheel planted down nicely under high accel
the calipers on this bike are fine. a set of good HH compound street pads like Ferodo ST or EBC sinter pads are a phenomenal upgrade and make the braking very strong. the front master cylinder is actually and axial style. I would also swap it out for a radial master. they make the braking feel better.
i did pads and braided brake lines. huge difference.

Weirdly the FZ1 did come with a plastic guard for the radiator. Not very common on stock bikes
looks like a decepticon, and I love it!
I you use the select switch to choose the engine temperature you can hold the same button down for a few seconds and the display will change to ambient temperature.
Love my mt10. Hate the fake vents... common Yamaha! Either make them functional like wings or get rid of them.
Del1000r they still help with aerodynamics, right? I wonder how it would look with no mesh there.

@@TURBOTWINKIE i suspect the throttle assembly being the same for the newer models from yamaha, my R6 also has a little "bump" forward on the throttle, though no CC 🤣

I have a ride tech GoPro mount for all my helmets. Anytime I buy a new helmet the first thing I do is get on their website and order a new mount. Great product

Makes me realise how many people don't look at their manuals or figure things out for themselves on a new bike :P Btw, the only air intake is under the forks into the frame, the middle is solid plastic behind.

Wish I had a mt10! But settled for z900 bc no Yamahas were available at the moment, but I don’t regret not waiting but will be more patient next go round
I waited 7 months for mine but now I have it, I'm glad I waited. The triple air intakes and acoustic grilles sound amazing.
I wish the MT-10 had all the R1 features also the R1 should have a fuel gage.
If Mike Tyson were a Bike he’d be a MT10. Hence the MT.
I was looking for the red key when I bought my 2012 VMAX. After much research we found that the red key is only included with non-US bikes. My 2021 MT-10 did not have a red key either.

You didn’t talk about how you can change the shiftlight and when it is to be applied. Hold the setup button and then turn on the ignition to go through the choices.

I would get the mt09 over this easy. This hasn’t the street fighter look as the others, and it kinda looks like a touring bike. The lights in front is a minus as well. but it’s probably very comfortable to drive

The Triumph Tiger 800 has got the same function to disable your cruise control by the throttle.
Yeah but it's a triumph so the electronic switch will probably shit itself

If you hold the info trigger down you will toggle from engine temperature to ambient temperature. 🤟🏽
That's technically not ambient temp, atleast not while moving. It's the air intake temp.
If you're stationary it will show the external temperature (after a while as it needs to "warm up" the sensor), though while riding you'll see a much lower temp
Lmao the throttle works both ways?! Here I was thinking I could only got faster.
It also features short range, due to poor fuel economy and a smallish tank. Compared to the range of a 2001 FZ1, it's disappointing.
Poor fuel economy? Mine gets 35mpg around town and about 42mpg on the highway…..
The red key must be an outside US option. I have a 2018 bought brand new and didn’t get that key.

@@true2039 to be honest with you it looks better in person and like i said it rides so good and its so fun that you forget about it lol. i wish it has a 6 axis imu though but i think for the price we cant have it all.
also a fun fact: the mt10 aka the EMPTY10 has a small fuel tank and pretty low range
The gas tank isn't small, but mileage depends on where and how you ride. Usually it's not great, but can do pretty well if trying to stretch the mileage.

I still find it shocking that you can tune the power on new yamaha dirt bikes with a phone app, but not so with the street bikes. This feature could allow brand new riders to jump right on a mt 10 and not die, hehe.
I think that making a 1000cc into a beginners bike is pretty dumb, because that is not its purpose, if you want a beginner bike and love the mt series theres the mt25, 05, 07

The stock rear blinkers for example are complete crap ... how they even allow these bikes on the showroom with them blows my mind ... easily swapped out but still something so simple really cheapens the stock look

The 18s and up came with a quick shifter. Both of my MT10s have it

I love the naked sportbikes, but I personally don't relly like the front end of the MT-10. The more agressive headlight of the MT-09 should be on the MT-10 in my opinion

I got one, also a MT10SP.
The Z900 is a great bike! The seating position is a bit more aggressive, and it's really predictable.
@Remy Nice...Haven’t got around to test riding one but hear a taller rider (6ft 1) like myself will feel cramped. I wish the gas mileage was better on the MT10 or that would be my pick.
It's a lovely bike but shot up I'm price now ..... It's almost 15k UK price for the SP version ....
