- The stream has dried up so thought I would have a quick poke about to see what I could find and then returned to the dump for a dig and came across a few lovely creatures! I hope you enjoy the video and don't forget to subscribe for more videos of my digs. 😁

Two beautiful cat heads! Too cute. Love their smiles!
Thanks, I didn't know cats came in packs, I always thought they were lone animals 😂
Left to themselves, they live in stable colonies....(confirmed old catlady here) ...so finding two is common Hahaha!
Those cats would find their way into my indoor plant pots!
They are great aren't they ☺️
Love the cats, maybe they are trying to tell you to get a cat, haha😃🇨🇦☮️ Fun video, thank you.
😂 I don't think my dog would be too happy about that 😂
@@VintageParagonUk Oh, you never know... They might become best mates. Of course, that wouldn't be good for you, playing 3rd wheel all the time... ROFL
@@noraleestone2859 she already ignores me anyway so might not be so different 😂
Your first "cat" is a Boxer (dog) with his tongue hanging out on his left. I love absolutely LOVE your green bubbly ink. Very nice.
I do love the bubbles, I think you might be right, I think the long cat like neck threw me off a bit 👍
I think that's a dog and it looks like a Boston terrier and it's adorable
A few others have said this too, I think the long neck threw me off a bit but it definitely has a doggy face doesn't it 😂
love that cat it's awesome
Thanks Mark 😁 Congratulations on your warners by the way, that was an amazing find 👍
Cute little doggie. That cat head is so unusual, never seen anything like it before.
Thanks, it's really cool isnt it 😁👍
Such unique bottles. Compare to bottles in the U.S.A. Really enjoyed watching 👀 your video. I look forward to watching many more.
Thank you, there is all sorts to find over here 😁👍
The large cat head is very cool. If you cut it evenly and place a cork in it, you can use it for a bottle topper. It would look very cool on on a bottle. Also the green beer bottles and other colored bottles you find with the bottoms broken out can be made into light fixtures if the tops were cut as well. They would look very cool in a man cave. Especially if they were all old beer bottles. Just a thought. Great finds in this one.
some really cool ideas! I left the broken one out so can still get it again, I have seen someone make them into cloches for candles before which look pretty good too. I will have to get around to doing a bottle cutting video soon
@@VintageParagonUk Yes, yes, yes!! ;)
Willow pattern in the tree and Uranium Big green milk glass shard ; nice sheertop ink
Thanks, I do like that ink
So many nice ink pots ! Incredible
Thanks so much 😊
Dare I say it was a purrfect dig!😅
Nice little session, well done.
oh dear that was clawful 😂 you weren't kitten around with that pun 😂
@@VintageParagonUk G.R.O.A.N. I laughed, though. ;)
Oh I’ve got one of those greenish cotton reel inks but sadly I had to buy mine. The first cat, I think is actually a French bulldog type dog. The black cat though is fab and would look amazing painted up like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland 😁
It is a beaut, I love it! I did think some sort of dog but those breeds aren't really known for having long necks like that so that's why I thought a cat but you might be right. the black cat is really cool, still undecided what to do with it though 🙂
Love the treasures you found. The glass shard with pattern looks like uranium glass check with uv flashlight. The kitty cats are hilarious they had quite sense of humor back then.
Thanks! I just tried it and it isn't Uranium glass, that would have been really cool though 🙂
I just want to dig and find marmalade pots !! Im from the states . Not to easy to find areas like this to dig. I enjoy your videos !!
Glad you enjoyed it 😁 They are so useful, I have them all over the place filled with stuff 😂
Beautiful
Thank you 😊
Olá from Brazil pronta para mais um vídeo thanks
Thanks 😁👍
Creepy cat day! Maybe you can turn the big head into a jar stopper!
Loved the inks, especially the 1st aqua one you showed. Great finds! Stay safe. 🦋
Thanks, I am sure the cats head could be made into something pretty cool but will have to have a think of what I could do 😁👍
Ace!
That cat is supercool!
Thanks mate, I need to get digging again!
@@VintageParagonUk too right!
Can I ask what camera you're using to film as you dig?
@@HandDugHistory I just use my phone, I think at that time is was a galaxy S8 maybe and set to 60fps and then have a little phone tripod, pretty basic stuff 🤣
@@VintageParagonUk thanks, it just looked like it was a GoPro body cam or something, I like your filming.
Oh yes, and while you're trying stuff I recommend the pickles that would have come in that jar right at the beginning. Preferably home made though. Instant crippling heartburn 😂😂😂😂
Now that sounds delicious 😂😂 I was thinking Bovril sandwiches with pickles 😂
Back to Wales in the 60 where my mother would pickle onions in some powerful vinegar with other 'secret ingredients '. She took these ingredients to her grave so that's one revolting tradition successive generations have been spared.
Great vid buddy. The Stoneware ink & the shear lip inkwells are nice. A shame about the pen rest one tho. Thanks for sharing buddy & all the best 👍 😁
Thanks mate, cant go wrong with a nice ink 😁👍
I live in Carlisle Cumbria and live close to the river caldew and my house 21years old is built on what was outbuildings and car park of " Ferguson cotton factory " ( which is now appointments) several years ago my son was younger ( from 5years old)I would take him out with me & he found clay pipe s bowl with stems & jewellery and other things, he still has them ( 19years old). He would take them to school primary and secondary schools for history lesson.
That sounds amazing and inspiring for a youngster to find right in our back garden 🙂
Those little sauce bottles look to me like Tobasco bottles
I was also thinking something along those lines 👍
When you find bottles like that lovely dark green one where the hole is in the bottom, have you thought about cutting off the bottom and making a cover for a tea light. Likely a battery powered one because it should look quite nice.
I did think about that, I will bring it back next time and see how it cleans up and might try to find a larger flat base to cut down to put it on like a dish, it might look good 🙂👍
New subber great going thanks I think the first animal head is a dog, the second well its just so cheerful a cheshire cat type grin. Love and Light 😋
Thanks, you might be right, I thought it was just an ugly cat going by its long slim neck but might be a dog 🤷♀️ Thanks for subbing, see you next time 😊
@@VintageParagonUk 👍
12:32 Probably a miniature whiskey.....I have a few like that.
Oh yes maybe, I didn't think of that, for some reason I kept thinking of hot sauce like tabasco or something like that 😂
I thought the first cat was a boxer dog or bulldog but more the boxer dog cool finds
I think you might be right, I think the long neck made me think a cat as those types of dog have stumpy necks but the face is more dog like isn't it 👍
That black cat head is amazing!! 😍
It is pretty cool! I wasn't expecting it at all
The cat heads are awesome! Wonderful finds! Love the C&D bottle and the inks are stunners! Great video 😀 x
Thanks so much Amanda! 😊
Oh I just love your finds in this dig! The cats are cute as a bug in a rug. Also the light green milk glass oriental shard might be uranium glass didn’t know if you checked for it or not. Great work! Thank you.
Thanks, I haven't heard that saying for years 😂 I didn't check it but it looked more like milk glass I think, I have found a few bits of uranium glass before and can kinda tell usually, it gives off a glow 😂 glad you enjoyed this one 😁👍
Oh my goodness! such finds:) Love the cats...the bottles are amazing, and especially the green bubbly ink! I have no problem loving slicks and screw tops dug from a dump:) Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it, the ink is proudly on my shelf looking great in the sun 😁
hi,think the nujol is 1920s as i have one too,its medicine for constipation.cant quite get it totaly clean try as i may.good stuff keep up the good work.
Thanks for the info, I don't think they had very good diets around here as I do find quite a lot of supplements for that 😂
Beautiful inks especially the green one. The cats are hilarious. Take care and be safe.
Thank you! You too!
That was a wonderful day at the dump. :D Of course, being a cat person, I adore the two cat heads you found. So quirky! It certainly was an inky day; even though you found 2 octagonal inks, they weren't identical. That's a great plus. :) I actually sense my hands twitching at times, because I want to get in there and dig. LOL Keep up the great videos. See you next time. Take care & stay safe.
Thanks Noralee, Something a bit different this time, I certainly want expecting that big cats head that's for sure 😂 Thanks for watching. 😊
What you thought was a cat is really a pug dog.
I did think that but it has that long slim cat like neck/body, either way it is a bit of an ugly creature 😂😂
We do it find inkwells like that here in BC or the cute little medicine bottle , great video ❤️🇨🇦
Thank you 👍
@12:43... I was told they were for olive oil or salad dressing
It could be, it does have that look about it doesn't it
Nice finds 👍 aways a good watch 😃
Thanks 😁👍
Willow pattern stuck in the tree ; ) nice finds ; get a UV torch on the big green milky glass shard
willow pattern with a tree on it stuck in a tree was lovely 😂 I just tried a UV light and no uranium I am afraid, it would have been nice though
@@VintageParagonUk ; nice piece still ; always worth a try
@@mudlarkingmarionette Always! I have found 1 piece of uranium glass from this dump so it is in there.
Could it be jade-ite the milky green piece of glass? Great finds. Live your inks.
It could be, I am no expert on that but I thought it was quite nice
I was thinking jadeite as well
Lovely finds , just wanted to say if I dig any sick bottles but want to keep them to display I put baby oil on them and they look great 👍
Thanks! I have seen some people do that and it does improve it a lot, this tip is quite kind so I figure if I keep on digging I will find a nice one 😂
Отличный результат. Удачи!!!!!
Спасибо 😊
Great video, really enjoying watching them. I've started researching in my area of Gwent. So far all the quarries i've found have not been filled in. Looks like the waste tips of the valleys might be more common. Are all these videos from the same tip and if so did yo need to get permission? thanks for the help and keep up the good work :)
Thank you 🙂 Maybe try looking along rivers and streams too, I was lucky to come across this one while metal detecting which I had permission from the owner for and who also gave me permission to dig for bottles as long as I didn't leave it looking like a war zone! All my videos are from the same dump, it has a few gems in there but doesn't have too much in compared to other tips near to larger towns but it keeps me fit 😁 Good luck with your hunt mate 👍
Do you ever sieve the spill that you dig out, in case you find a marbles etc
no I haven't done that here as there is so much ash on this dump it would take forever, I sometimes find things rolling in the dirt when I rake through the soil when cleaning up though 😁👍
Aren’t the long thin corked ones for laudanum?
They could be, I am sure they used all shapes and sizes 🤷♂️🙂
I have found some hideous ornaments just picking over what bottle diggers have left behind. Also was it against the law not to own at least one blue and white plate? That's stuff is everywhere....
It is always the same design too 😂 3 guys on a bridge next to a house and a boat and a tree
Willow pattern transferware, it also comes in pink or green, though these colours are much rarer
My mother in law has a full set of the blue. I honestly can't see the beauty of it. Am I a philistine?
Do you give any of your odd fines to other " mudlarking people, like the northern mudlarking and docking bay 51
I have sent a few bits to the mud pies but they usually find a lot more cool stuff than I do, they should send some stuff to me 😂😂😂👍
Nice video ! How do you get the bottels So clean and shiny ?
The dump here has been kind to them and doesn't give them much sickness so usually just bottle brushes and some elbow grease but I do give some a quick dip in some brick acid to get the rust off 👍
@@VintageParagonUk thank you!
Pure bear 17
Great 👍
What exactly is a “paste jar?”
Basically it is a jar that contained meat or fish paste that were used in cooking or spread onto bread for a 'tasty' snack 👍 I think you can still buy it these days
I'd like to visit this spot with my 4 year old, could you send me the location in a message please?
I would love to but it is private land and I think it is a different owner now so not sure they would appreciate me giving out the location, sorry 😕
