After reading a bunch of comments it seems to me the perception for the car is not really that good from everyone. However I had the opportunity to grow up with an Alto 800 LXI 2014 (modified a lot), we couldn't afford SUVs or better Sedans for the matter but as it stands I'm so happy we had that car. It's a car of opportunity, it drove me back and forth during weekends for family visits from my hostel, took it on vacations, family trips, last rites for my dad as well, the car has been through it all, bad roads, me learning the car from our driver. It's for this reason this model from Maruti is an actual enabler for me and my family. Joys, sorrows it has seen through it all, it has seen me grow up, I've recently picked up on driving it myself too and I've to say the car feels solid to this day, bare minimum maintenance, excellent fuel economy. I was in 6th grade and now I'm a working professional and I still take pride in sitting inside the car to this very day, emotionally I feel like my dad's who's no longer with me still has his will and heart inside the car since he loved it that much. Yes to you social status folks this car might look like a no good vehicle but to a common town folk who grew up with it. It's my all and I daresay this outright prevails over the facilities of any other car in the market. Thank you for making this wonderful machine, Maruti ❤

So what alto was back then is now filled in by cars like swift, wagon R and celerio. Most would rather have those as base cars or nothing rather than an alto. What maruti could potentially do to make it viable is add normal features that they provide for cars like swift. Make it feel like a car rather than a haryana roadways minimized and converted into a car. If the interior is worked open and basic useful features are given in high model then this car will be more loved.
Our second car was an Alto VXi 1.1L from 2002. My dad loved that car so much mostly because of the engine. It ran around 13 years and my dad didn't sell it even after buying the third car.
Same for my dad until the 15 year car rule came in Odisha. He was reluctant to sell it at first but he exchanged it at last for a new car. Guess what he got as his new car. Lord Alto😅. Even if we have other cars like KIA and Tiago, he only drives his Alto and the other cars are left for me to drive. Can't even remember when was the last time he drove any other car. My dad loves his Alto to death.
No doubt, the second generation of Alto K10 was the best of alto series. -Nice and agressive look (better than any other alto model) - Engine performance and refinement - Mielage - Decent interior with dedicated rpm & speed meters, gear up/downshift indicators - Has no infotainment system but the music system looks classy
Booked the top model automatic this month. And it's an amazing feat how far NVH levels have come even for entry level cars. Especially when compared to the NVH of the old 800 at the end of video. 😃
@@veekay9977 I haven't got the delivery yet. It seems MS has supply issues with AGS transmission, or 'chips'. Dealer told me, that AGS isn't produced in those numbers as manual or even other CNG's that might be near this price. Since I was clear that I will have a Petrol Automatic (even if semi) I don't bother much.
We had ALTO as our first car in our family when I was 7yrs old. Lots of memories attached with the previous generation ALTO-800cc. Also Faisal, I know this video shot while sunset behind it. I love the Autum mornings! Great to have a short spin in your car/bike in the morning.
The manual version seems like a fun to drive car, the fun element which you normally don't expect in an alto.The engine is just fantastic, it just keeps on reving and it's so smooth. The only problem is the price of this car.Alto used to be the common man's car and now i don't think a common man would be able to afford it 😑
Had the 2011 K10. Best Alto model imo with nice looks and a quirky engine. Dad exchanged it for the 2022 wagonR (1ltr). I told him not to and now he's regretting it.

@@RAJ-km8gw the first obvious observation is the engine size itself. Per BS6 standards Maruti reduced the engine block size to improve fuel efficiency. Then there's the power issue. The K10 had no difficulty pulling 5 people on a rough terrain and heavy inclines in 2nd gear but the 2022 WagonR needs to be put in the 1st gear in order to move itself without the engine shutting off. Now I don't know if that's because of a physically smaller engine or the transmission but the fact is WagonR's overall drivetrain produces less power than the old K10. As for the build quality, you can see it for yourself if you ever come across an old K10 and the new WagonR. The latter feels hollow, has a much thinner sheet metal build and if you ever drop something as small as a coffee mug on it you're gonna have a dent. I think at this point Maruti just wants to see how low it can go with it's build quality before the middle class public notices it...

I have the 2nd gen K10 and can assure you that it actually has a pretty good steering dynamics. About highway driving, while not having like a premium car like stability, it is decent. Driving wise the shifting from 4th to 5th is always a very fun thing to do, the entire car does like a little jump when you shift to 5th (always puts a smile on my face when it does it kinda like car being enthusiastic lol) and then you get a very tall 5th gear (like from 50-120kmph) you get very good power delivery probably due to it's light weight. Post like 130 however you will feel the car creeping towards 140 very hard due to wind resistance, the engine if put in a more aerodynamic body can definitely do like 150-160 easily the revs don't even max at 140
Maruti alto k10 is the dream car for every common people in India. But I miss the "og 800" the "og alto 800" the"og alto k10" and the "og alto 1.1 ltr ".
My dad buy this car for himself, as he is retired and not use to for manual. This is perfect car for him as he will not go on long ride, just good for city and 100km distance.
