I have a small collection of vintage watches, nothing super expensive , but a few old Rolex and a few old Tudor amongst others. I try to wear something different every few days and today by coincidence i am wearing my old Rolex Explorer. Although it was nice to have it come up as the first on your list it was a shock to read the small print from the advertising. Buy one for $165.00. Good Lord, put me down for 10 of them please.

Top 5 is always a limited choice, but the 1953 Glycine Airman automatic GMT pilot watch should make the top, as it's only 1 of six wristwatches to be exposed to outer space, an exploit that has only be made by a wristwatch every decade or two decades...
Already in the 1930s, Gaston Breitling had the idea for a chronograph button at 2 o'clock position and patented the rotating bezel with slide rule

The problem with the navitimer is the fact nobody with reasonable eyesight can or ever has been able to read its dial. It's worn as a statement not a useful tool.

What? No vintage Westclox $3 Bullseye? I actually dropped one from a freeway bridge years ago and it was promptly run over by a semi truck. I ran down to see how badly beat to death it was and amazingly it was still intact and running.. I was later robbed by a gang of thugs who thought they had a real humdinger of a watch. OK, so they're worthless in terms of cash, but nice story behind it...Kind of.

Hillary did not wear a Smiths to the Summit of Everest. He only wore a Smiths. Norgay almost certainly didn’t either. Rolex even admitted as such,
    Smiths:
“Sir Edmund Hillary has stated in writing that he took a Smiths watch to the summit and no other, and he has offered the actual watch which he wore to the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers for permanent exhibition in their museum at the Guildhall.”
    Rolex:
“It would appear from Mr. Barrett’s letter that Sir Edmund Hillary was, in fact, only wearing one watch at the summit and that a Smiths watch. We congratulate Smiths on the fact that their Smiths Delux ordinary wind wristwatch reached the summit with Sir Edmund Hillary.”

I will be buried with my gifted 1959 Omega Seamaster.....PLEASE "small" watches come back in style.!! I hate most new watches, plus cannot afford one, but 30-35 mm is just TOO small! I JUST got a RAREEEEEEEEEEEE 70s Magnetron swiss watch that is in PERFECT new condition--Acrylic bubble crystal, champagne dial, date w/ magnifier, automatic AND manual wind (I HATE a watch you cant wind). It truly looks brand new and what did I pay?? The same price a new Times would cost you. 55 bucks. Oh, the big reason I bought the Magnetron (talk about hard to find anything on a watch) is it's a 40mm case...and THAT is almost too small
