Just want to say to Justin--thanks for being you. I think it isn't a question of IF he wanted to be a musician, rather that he HAD to. When one has so much beauty and soul within, it must be let out. We are so very grateful for all the music and passion you have gifted us. Be well.

Each time I watch this video, I find something that I had never heard before and when Justin mentioned a singer he admired and "the cry in the singer's voice", I had never heard this before. I guess I blanked out for a few seconds. LoLs. But when I heard Justin make mention of that, it brought Nights in White Satin to mind. Ever since I heard it back in 1968, I thought he sounded like he had so much sadness in his voice that he was almost ready to cry. I called it his haunting voice in Nights. That sad song, which pulled so many people in was due to that haunting voice, that almost crying voice which touched so many people which drew them to the Moodies, and it never fails that each time I play that song, my heart actually feels the sorrow that Justin wanted you to feel. He had control of your emotions in that song. His voice made Nights even sadder. And boy, when one listens to that song with ear phones on, ya better have something at hand to perhaps wipe your eyes. I love listening to their songs with headphones as you can hear the slightest sounds from their music, making them way ahead of their time.
So many singers come and go. Some return, but no one comes near Justin's voice. If Paul McCartney had ever tried to sing Nights, even he would have been no match for Justin's unique voice, and this is why Justin is still performing today. Even though his voice is a little lower now, I never tire of hearing him sing. He is such a sweetheart and what a beautiful soul that he has with so much talent and dedication. He sacrificed much for his music through the years as did his family. I would make a terrible musician's wife, because I would hate the touring that they they must do, but I think Justin needs to tour, as he loves it so.

This whole interview, from the start here right through to Justin's wonderful performance of Question at the end, used to be available on YT, maybe an hour in length but missing now. Good to see it returning in chunks. It is taken from the DVD "An audience with Justin Hayward at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame". Hope it reappears in full also. His humour and down to earth warmth of personality are amply illustrated.

I don't think I ever heard him talk so much. He's a man of few words. He lets the music do the talking.

... THIS, for me, is like finding the lost chord. It's just fantastic to see and hear how Justin and the Moodies began, kept going, and in my mind, they'll never stop...
