Want your kids to eat healthy? Simple.
1. Start them early - feed babies homecooked veggie and fruit purees, so they get used to the taste of natural, healthy food (not bought jars loaded with flavor enhancers or too much sugar).
2. Eat healthy yourself - little kids want to have everything that their parents have, so if they see you enjoying veggies and salads and other healthy food with every meal, they'll want to try it too!
steph Yeah! When I was a baby, my mum had me eat loads of vegetables so I developed a taste for them. I absolutely love vegetables. They taste so good.

I grew up loving veges except for pumpkin. Only one I knew that loved broccoli or cauliflower as a kid.
I hate it because of the texture. Same reason I hate kumara/sweet potato and avocado.
It gets stuck at the back of my mouth like smooth peanut butter does so I avoid eating them now so I don't vomit. Kumara though, I blame that on the horrible way my dad used to cook it when I was little.
I'm really just watching this to see how to get ME to eat healthy!

With my mum being a Filipino she would normally add courgettes and squash to my sinigang. She also got me to like liver by marinating it with soy sauce and lots of lemon and then baking it in the oven. Not dry and very delicious.

My parents never forced me to eat veggies but wouldn’t let me have dessert/fruit after dinner if I made the choice to not eat my veggies. They also let me pick out which vegetables we would eat that night, so a) I felt like I was helping b) I became part of the decision making process and I could choose vegetables I liked. It worked.

These are pretty cute, my mom would do stuff like this a lot, she would put shredded carrots and zucchini in stuffed shells with the cheese and veggies in the tomato sauce before she would blend it up. I loved veggies and fruits as a kid, though

I really like veggies and fruits
We always ate healthy food in my house, never had any problems except with the occasional broccoli soup when I would complain. My mum would simply not let me leave the table until I finish but she still put hidden veggies in everything. To this day, I am still shocked that my mum used to put carrots and zucchini in lasagna. Never noticed it but it actually makes it taste way better, my lasagna tasted amazing when I started to add it in.

My mom justs puts a menu for us.
Like Breakfast,
She puts in Appetizers, Entrees, Drinks and desserts but she only allows dessert in lunch.
Since I was the oldest, She lets me pick the menu. she has a chef personality.

My parents just gave me puréed veggies with nothing else in them but garlic, that way I got used to the taste of veggies and garlic so now I am not a picky eater!!
What my mom does to feed my younger siblings vegetables is by buying them fast food once a week. Now my lil bro eats salads and stir fried rice. And many other healthy yet nutritional dishes.

As someone with severe anemia, I was forced to eat high iron foods along with supplements as a kid. Now I can't stand the taste of greens or beans or whathaveyou, I can eat broccoli or carrots occasionally, but the smell and texture give me flashbacks and stomach aches.
