I still don't see the X99 MR9A Pro listed in your Mi-899 program. Which makes me wonder how you were able to flash the MR9A Pro BIOS, when you don't seem to specifically share a link to explain the flashing process described as "working really well" in this video. It's not in your blog either, I looked. I just can't take a risk on using the wrong BIOS for my main PC right now. Is this a blind spot? Or did you simply not mention that the old X99 section and BIOS options work for MR9A Pro as well?
MR9A and MR9A Pro share the BIOS. Please download the latest Mi899 app and select MR9A as your motherboard then pick desired BIOS. Also, with Chinese motherboards I can never guarantee BIOS compatibility, even if two boards are called the same and look the same.

What description are you talking about? My X99-MR9A and X99-MR9A Pro have exactly the same VRM that you can see at 02:35 on this video but Chinese could have degraded the MR9A non-PRO VRM to cut costs.
@@Miyconst On ali, the description states that the PRO version has 8 phases and the non-pro version has 6 phases and in your video you can also see that the PRO version has a different power supply section because it has 8 coils (square cubes), and the non-pro version has only 6 coils, in addition, the pro version has more mosfets than the non-pro version and in your video at 2.15 minutes you can see the difference between the power supply sections of the motherboard of both models and everywhere I look, this is how it is stated that the PRO version has 8 phases and the non-pro version has 6 phase power section

Have you encountered an issue with this board as below, Whenever I open device manager I see heaps of base system devices missing etc The moment the system seems to check or scan devices it immediately reboots. It is Windows 10, fresh install I am struggling to ensure all devices are installed. It also reboots the moment I try and install drivers from AMD adrenaline, and the audio driver link you have included also.
I managed to get all drivers installed but the one problem I still encounter is if I run AMD adrenaline installer (I have an RX 6700 non XT) the moment the installer opens, I hear the hardware disconnect sound and the PC restarted itself. Now after a few windows updates, it restarts and then immediately after I see it complete post and windows loads, windows goes straight to "shutting down" and repeats the cycle. Very frustrating, I was very excited to get to use this. Taking up so much time with clean OS installs and iengineer bios flashed, still can't crack this problem.
@@Miyconst I've installed all Windows updates and optional also. I'll flash back the original BIOS and try and return it. Might even be the PSU perhaps as it keeps stating "PC has woke from low power state" or along those lines. Troubleshooting... Such a pain Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Hi, I want to build my first PC and am looking for a Xeon CPU boot. Are there also xeon CPUs that can handle 1440p or which xeon CPU would you recommend?
If you're going to build a Xeon gaming rig, prioritise higher clock speeds and high single thread performance over insanely high core counts bro. Its also worth mentioning that most games don't benefit from the level of multithreading peformance that the 12 core,14 core, 16 core, 18 core, 20 core and 22 core Xeons were designed for. I made the mistake of buying a 2698 v3.😂😂🤦♂️🤦♂️ What the X99 community wont tell you, is a lot of the higher core, low clock rate CPUs more or less requires you to flash your bios and undervolt your CPU so all cores are in turbo mode for optimal gaming. Undervolting and flashing your bios is not something a first time PC builder should be worrying about imo. The post is getting long so I will state my recommendation...Go for a 1650v4 or go 1660v4 if you are obsessed with more cores. Anything else and its more of a workstation than a gaming rig.
@@Miyconst In fairness, the higher core V3 CPUs that you tested were either overclocked or you flashed your motherboard to enable turbo on all cores. So its not the fairest test as you cant do the same on the V4's. It's worth mentioning that not everyone is as confident or as skilled as you are at tuning their rigs as you are mate. I'm purely talking about out of the box performance here mate. The out of the box clock speeds are too slow 🐌 on the higher core Xeons for gaming. Im not going to be disrespectful and mention other RUclips channels on here but let's just say I've seen other videos on RUclips were the 1600's V4s consistently beats the other Xeons *WITHOUT TUNING* in most games that are more optimised for GPU.

I tried different drivers, disabled ASPM in bios for PCIe and DMI, disabled IPv6, changed energy plans. Nothing worked.
Three flaws: 1- It doesn't specify it in its description, but of the two M.2 ports it has, one is NVMe and the other is SATA. 2- The sound card delivers terrible audio, and the front 3.5 jack doesn't work for me. 3- The small VRM fan starts to hum very annoyingly after a while, you have to buy a few 30x30x7mm Brushless fans in advance. The M.2 ports don't surprise me, they should be clearly specified. I've tried audio drivers but I haven't been able to do it. Two years with it.
Yes, the older revisions had one SATA and one NVMe slot, the newer ones come with two NVMe. The sound card and the VRM fan are sadly just poor quality of your unit. AliExpress is a lottery, as I always say.

Thanks for this video. I just bought this board and, if possible, I would like to make you a couple of questions: is there a chance with its original BIOS to turn off the USB ports after the shut down? Other than this taking into account that I'm not intersted on overclocking etc, would it be worth to change the BIOS with the iEngineer (honestly for me it's too risky the procedure using an external flasher)...thanks!
As I said in the video, I flashed iEngineer BIOS using FPT tool so at least for me, a programmer was not required. The USB shut down I didn't really test, so can't comment on that, sorry.

Interested to see how these boards support RDIMM modules, as there’s a lot of cheap high capacity server RDIMM modules out there now and I’m in need of a workstation with a lot of memory

I recently bought an Xeon E5 2676v3. Ive got the Zsus X99-8D3 Mainboard with HM55 Chipset. Do you think I can mod it with your tutorials and guides? Im asking because I dont know if its technical possible because of this Chipset and I want to minimize the risk of killing the Bios. Thanks for your help, ur videos are great.
As far as I know my TBU and ReBar guides work with any chipset but your motherboard is unknown to me, so I can't guarantee any compatibility.
i want to ask, the X99-MR9A Pro and the X99-MR9A is good, in my local market theres only X99-MR9A Pro MAX. do u recomend this and maybe u have tested it or maybe search for another known tested motherboard
I did not test the Pro MAX variation but as far as I know it's the same motherboard underneath, just a slightly different appearance. You can check what chipset is installed. If it's a desktop version like Q85/87, Z87/97 then it's most likely the same motherboard.
@Miyconst Thanks for the videos. I really like using the 1650 & 1660 v4 and im looking for a mobo that sleep works out of the box and that I dont have to do anything to the bios.
I see no reason to stick with X99 then.
I wished they made budget 3647 or 2066 motherboards for AVX-512 dependent workloads.
If you are purely interested in AVX-512 then Dell T7820 workstation is a good budget candidate even if the CPU support is limited.
@@Miyconst it really sucks how Intel no longer makes quad channel 10-18 core chips anymore with avx-512, everything else is locked on Intel which has avx-512, AMD is unlocked but does not have avx-512, which is very important for my workload, that and clock speed which is why being unlocked is important.
Is it recomended to purchase these boards in those xeon v4 bundles, or should i buy the components separately?
Usually it is safer to buy as a set with CPU and RAM but don't pay extra for it. If individual components are cheaper - buy individually.

I would really like instructions on adding an overclocking option for 16xxv3 series processors for MR9A to the standard BIOS if there is such a possibility

Another great video. Can you take some pictures of the BIOS chip? I have a hot air rework station and can probably swap that chip for something better. A lot of those serial BIOS chips are low voltage now and those CH341 flashers will absolutely fry them. I messed up the BIOS on an RS9 with a bad flash, and I'll never use that again. Have you encountered an issue with this board as below,
Whenever I open device manager I see heaps of base system devices missing etc
The moment the system seems to check or scan devices it immediately reboots.
It is Windows 10, fresh install
I am struggling to ensure all devices are installed.
It sounds like you may have a hardware failure. In general it's enough to install all Windows updates including the optional ones.
@@Miyconst I've installed all Windows updates and optional also.
I'll flash back the original BIOS and try and return it.
But I'll also make sure it isn't a compatibility issue with my GPU being too new.
I did however to get all drivers installed need to use PowerShell to install them in bulk as the second a program seems to state "your device needs a restart to complete installation" the PC immediately reboots.
Might even be the PSU perhaps as it keeps stating "PC has woke from low power state" or along those lines.

Its also worth mentioning that most games don't benefit from the level of multithreading peformance that the 12 core,14 core, 16 core, 18 core, 20 core and 22 core Xeons were designed for. I made the mistake of buying a 2698 v3.😂😂🤦♂️🤦♂️
What the X99 community wont tell you, is a lot of the higher core, low clock rate CPUs more or less requires you to flash your bios and undervolt your CPU so all cores are in turbo mode for optimal gaming. Undervolting and flashing your bios is not something a first time PC builder should be worrying about imo.
The post is getting long so I will state my recommendation...Go for a 1650v4 or go 1660v4 if you are obsessed with more cores. Anything else and its more of a workstation than a gaming rig.
@@-_-DatDude please watch this video before recommending E5-1600 V4 CPUs: ruclips.net/video/2PoNkYCfOcI/видео.html
I bought this one and I facing problems to get full gigabit speed. Anyone is facing something similar? Using original bios here.
What is the problem and what is your full PC specification?
Im using a MR9A PRO, 2680V4, 32GB quad-channel. The problem is that my onboard network card can't reach gigabit speed (capped at 10 Mb/s). I'm using proxmox but already tried install windows 11, mint and pop-os. If a connect other machine on same setup (router+cable) It reaches gigabit speed.
I tried different drivers, disabled ASPM in bios for PCIe and DMI, disabled IPv6, changed energy plans. Nothing worked.
Three flaws:
1- It doesn't specify it in its description, but of the two M.2 ports it has, one is NVMe and the other is SATA.
Hi can you upload this bios i just buy MACHINIST MR9A PRO X99 and need to lock turbo boost on e5 2666 v3
Hi. All the BIOS options are already uploaded to Mi899 GitHub repository.
@@MiyconstThank you for response i check your program and still cant find MACHINIST MR9A PRO i see is MACHINIST MR9A 1.0 but i'm not sure if this will be okay flash bios from other model ?
These two motherboards use the same BIOS.
I flash bios like in your video and my motherboard crash :(
Please join my Discord if you need any help, I can't assist in RUclips comments.
I run one of these in a home server, has anyone got a fix for the CPU telemetry problem at all?
I am afraid the fix is not that simple since the motherboard physically lacks some sensors.
I had no luck with machinist Motherboard i bought the mr9a and its just doing a long beep and the mr9s just won't work
The long beep usually indicates missing or unsupported GPU. Try with another CPU/GPU and use another PCI-E slot.
@@Miyconst thanks the mr9a is now working do you have an idea for the MR9S ? its showing me error ff and its bootlooping
@@elias6415 FF means something is really bad, so you either have a corrupted BIOS, a dead motherboard, or a short circuit.
@@Miyconst i tested the Board with only a CPU its still showing me FF but its no longer bootlooping so i Wonder if it wasn't my psu
I know there is a "Pro Max" version something new or not worth it?
I wouldn't really bother.
