Thank you. This motherboard revives my interest in "x99" chinese motherboards :)
Try to buy a amd 3600 in your country
Nothing wrong with that cpu
@@Kevin-vh6nn 3000 barely exist here, it's mostly 2000 or 5000 gen, and those are pricey.
Another Excellent and indepth review, Thank you!
Running this motherboard after this BIOS upgrade and unlocking the TurboBoost, plus enabling the 4G Decoding made a HUGE difference with 2697v3 and a 2060Super for gaming (using the latest Nvidia Drivers also helps, so that it uses the card properly on idle)
Excellent review as always, thank you
Thanks, i am waiting for your upcoming review about 2xCPU motherboard
But for ? Many virtual OS + NAS / "IT learning" ? Hardware video export when RTX 30xx /40xx / Intel/ AMD might be a better choice ? A summary of prices of used parts and power consumption compared to AM4 something with 5700/5800/59xx would be useful :)
another great review!
a crucial review for me, there not much content of it avaliable, you helped a lot
Thanks for the review....
The chrome on the both pcie x16 slot are very visually appealing and look strong, mine qd4 just a blue plastic. Thanks for sharing knowledge.
Tahanks for this review. I buyed this motheboard and surprise the possible support to tpm 2.0.
thanks for the review , ill check if in ph market or online market place for this board , godbless

Amazing improve over my old Qiyida X99-H9 which the 3rd ram slot is defective so I have to use dual channel instead quad.
If only one slot is defective you can still use three slots for three RAM channels.
I had same issue with one of RAM slot not working. So I washed the CPU socket with isopropyl alcohol and soft brush. Also cleaned CPU contact points and reinstalled CPU. All the slots started working
@@gandharvmohan9572 yeah, CPU contact issues may cause some RAM slots to malfunction.
Wow! That BIOS is unusually very full featured with Re-Bar, PCIE bifurcation and memory time settings. Those functions make this sound incredibly compelling to buy. With a BIOS dump and flash I wonder if other similar boards could have some functionality unlocked.
What other similar boards do you have in mind?
@@Miyconst I have no specific boards in mind. It's far from my expertise so I'm simply wondering since it's been done on here in the past.
The moment I had1 got the hardware before my favourite reviewer). I had bought a set with 2680 v4. In september 2023 BIOS I had had had no RAM timing adjustment. Thank you for the review.
If you your motherboard is indeed the same then you can flash my BIOS to get extra features but if the PC is a daily driver for you then I would leave it as-is as long as it works well.
@@Miyconst Thank for an offer, but PC is already sold. The man I had sold it uses it for FPW simulators. It turned out that Liftoff had adequate requirements, and RX5700 was more then powerful for 1080p / ultra graphics.
I got a qiyida ed4 recently, and im quite happy. I got a different cpu for the bundle though.
Thank you so much for your precise review of one these 'interesting' motherboards. My Machinist RS9 appears to have resizable bar enable in the BIOS. I enabled it for my RTX3060TI although I can't see a big difference in my gaming speeds. It also has the header for the TPM 2.0 module as well as the switch for it in the BIOS. The BIOS is V5.11 09/08/23. Just out of curiosity where is the link to your TPM2.0 purchasing website since I couldn't see it in the description (I may be blind and/or dumb). I'm running an E5-1660V4 on the board with 32GB 8x4 G-Skill consumer non-ECC memory and it's running perfectly. I guess I got a good one. BTW I highly recommend the Thermalright SI-100 CPU cooler. It covers the whole CPU/memory/VRM area and keeps the VRM very cool.
Slava Ukraini !
RTX 3060 Tis (and most other Ampere GPUs) normally don't benefit a huge amount from Resizable BAR.
It does normally result in a slight improvement of performance, but it's often within margin of error and not easy to measure, and I think there might be a few games where it still results in a regression of performance rather than an improvement (though I'm not certain. Those bugs might all have been fixed by now).
AMD and Intel GPUs, and newer Nvidia "Lovelace" GPUs tend to benefit a lot more from ReBAR than Ampere.
I have added the store link to the video description, please check again. Your X99-RS9 indeed came with an updated BIOS version and TPM should be plug-n-play except for the reset wires.
Thank you for your review. I just found a combo on AE with this motherboard, an E5 2680 V4 and 4x8Gb of 3200MHz RAM for less than 130€ !
I think i'll order it today or tomorrow with a RX 580 8Gb or a RX 6600 8Gb.
Xeon on X99 are jewels !
RX 6600 is significantly faster than RX 580, just so you know. A great combo otherwise.
@@Miyconst I was especially worried about quad channel compatibility. I still remember a time when their X99 motherboards with 4 RAM slots only offered dual channel but now I'm pleasantly surprised! The RX 580 has the big advantage of being available at a very low price, around €100, which makes a relatively affordable PC when you reuse other elements (case, power supply, SSD, etc.). My only 2 regrets with this kit is the impossibility of activating the turbo on all cores on the V4 (as I do on my 1155 CPUs with the Z77 chipset) and visibly the RAM speed stuck at 2400MHz even with the 3200MHz provided (maybe the opportunity to run it at 2400MHz with tighter timings?).
Well, I ended up falling for the kit from AE this morning. Thank you for this test which has shed a lot of light on certain questions (quad channel, speed of the Ram, etc.). It’s well worth a subscription to the channel 😅
@@newstalgia3865 welcome to the channel.
@@Miyconst i finaly ordered a RX 6750 XT this morning ... i think it's the most powerfull choice with my config before bottleneck.
Hi, very good and informative Video !
I have the same Motherboard since 3 Weeks now - from Ali Express with a Xeon E5 2680 V4 and 4x8GB Ram
Works good so far for ~120 € 😍
I have also ordered a cpu Cooler with 4 Heatpipes and a Quiyida Power Supply - Works all good - No Explosions or something... 🤣
I have wondered about the TPM thing in the Bios... i hope you cann tell us more in a following Video ! 🙂
That's basically the exact same as my Machinist x99 motherboard. Same color, pretty much the exact same features. They're good boards. Right now i have a 2650v4 I believe. Its the 12 core v4 E5. It chews through cinebench like a champ.
Which Machinist board do you have in mind? Is it MR9A (Pro)?
I was thinking it was my microphone catching my breathing, but noooo - it had to be your fluffball :D
Hah! Yup, he laid on the review table right by the hardware and purred.
@@Miyconst "laid / was lying")))
Not sure the machinist board i have but it also has the vrm fan and crazy bios. There are like a million different bios options inside.
These million different options aren't necessarily doing anything, might be that Chinese just forgot to disable it. 🤣
Hi man! very informative content as always... Could I use the TBU bios, even if i use a V4 cpu just to take advantage of other function you have implemented or am I forced to use a v3 cpu?
There is a version of the modded BIOS without TBU so you can use either.
For the mini M.2 slot, would be good for an AI card for 2-10 TOPS.
Excellent review. Is there a M-ATX version of this board, or close? Especially one with resizable bar already included in the Bios.
I don't know of any mATX version that would be an exact copy of this one but X99-PR9 has resizable bar in the BIOS and the latest revision of K9 has it as well, according to my Discord members.
@@Miyconst thanks, I appreciate the response 😊
This motherboard is already close to M-ATX!
It has 5 peripheral slots, so it's shorter than standard ATX, which is 6 or 7 slots. Micro ATX is 3 or 4 slots.
Hi Miyconst! Should I pair a 6600 (non xt) with dual Xeon e5 2678v3 (for gaming purpose) . I’m thinking about an upgrade! Anyway good vid!
No. Dual CPU setups make no sense for gaming.
@@MiyconstThanks for the quick response but I have a dual cpu system and thinking about a GPU upgrade . I have used this pc for about 3 year for both server and gaming purposes , currently i'm using a gtx 1650 . So my question is will the e5 2678v3 bottleneck the rx6600 ?
You will upload more videos about TPM 2.0 Is this board compatible? In the video you said you had to try it. I would like to know if you already did it
It's coming. I just have received the TPM modules.
Your channel is very informative for building a xeon computer. thank you so much for nice info. Can I ask you a question? I would like to build a PC using e5 2697 v3 cpu with turbo boost unlock. Can you recommend a budget chinese x99 motherboard? In your previous video, maybe 1-2 years before, you recommended huananzhi x99 tf, f8 because of capability of 200w safe power supply. In this moment 2024, is there another budget motherboard option for e5 2697 v3 with turbo boost unlock? Actually I ordered x99 tf board but it is not a buget build... you know, AMD ryzen5 2600+b450 mobo combo can be cheaper but show bettet performance. Thank you so much.
Machinist X99-MR9A (Pro) and this E5-A99 would be my picks. Huananzhi X99-F8/TF I don't recommend any more because the price makes no sense and lately Huananzhi quality declined.
@@Miyconst Thank you so much!! :)
Resizable bar works without bios mod? 'Cause it gives me active on gpuz, I applied the change to the registry to work with rx580, but adrenaline always sees it (SAM) disabled and not activable. thx
RX 580 officially does not support resizable bar thus you won't see it enabled in the Adrenaline Software, check in GPU-Z, if it's enabled there then it's enabled, no BIOS mods are required.
Hello, is it possible to use Coreboot or something like that in any of these motherboards?
So far I have not seen a single compatible Core Boot for these boards but there is a hope.
I've noticed a trend on these china x99 boards where sleep doesn't work and I see that continues through to this board too. Is there any specific reason as to why this is?
Probably because Chinese don't bother to implement it since people keep buying the motherboards without the sleep mode either way.
Looks a lot like the Veineda 5-slot MB.
I can't seem to find this Veineda motherboard on AliExpress.
@@Miyconst You reviewed it a few years ago.
What do you think of the jingsha x99e Max motherboard? I'm looking for a plate of maximum 22 cm x 24 to put in a Cooler Master nr200p case and this one is just the right size. It seems to have good vrms and good connectivity. Could an mvme ssd be connected to the ngff port to put two mvme ssds? Can you overclock and turbounlock? What possibilities does it offer? I am thinking of buying it and I would like to have a prior reference. Thanks in advance. Greetings!
For now I don't have much to say about the motherboard as I didn't test it yet.
Hi Thank you for making such informative videos. I am considering buying this X99-MR9A mother board I am not a big gamer but my son occasionally likes to play fortnite, MS flight sim, and other games. I want to ask you what kind of Xeon processor can you recommend that will be good for gaming as well as productivity. I am not editing big videos but I do use my pc to upload videos on RUclips. Thanks in advance.
You could go with E5-2667/2690/2697/2697A V4.
@@Miyconst Thank you so much appreciate your quick response!
I have trouble choosing X79 motherboard on Aliexpress for my i7-3930K. There's so many models to choose from. Sorry for the vague question but is there any good model that doesn't require too much tinkering?
I am not following the X79 boards from AliExpress, sorry. The last time I checked Machinist X79 V2.82 was the best but no overclocking of course.
Qiyidia, machinist or huanzani what’s best value choice?
These are AliExpress store names, all have good and bad models. You can only compare specific motherboards, not stores in general.

Tutorial overclock mobo machinist X99 MR9S
Between Qiyida E5-A99 & Machinist X99-MR9A which one is better for pairing with i7-5960X in your opinion?
The cheapest one. Both require custom BIOS for overclocking, VRM is the same, and i7-5960X has all 40 PCI-E lanes so the routing doesn't matter.
Now if only they'd make a MATX version
Are are people so obsessed with mATX? The ATX format isn't that much bigger.
Would this mobo works with a decent modern gpu for gaming 1080p ? What would best cpu to pair with for gaming multimedia?
It surely works for gaming and you can surely match it with something modern like an RTX 4060/3060 or RX 6650XT. For the best CPU recommendation I need to know your preferences.

It's already a few years since it's time to switch to LGA 1700, just not everyone can afford it.

bios motherboard machinist x99 MR9S when to update on mi899 ????
I have a question about the chipsets they use. How is it possible to put a chipset that was designed for LGA 1155 on a "x99 motherboard".
Does it explain why some of the motherboards just have USB 2 support and no USB 3 support ?
I tried to ask chat GPT 4 and he told me that "It cannot be" and "the seller must be lying about the chipset"
Haha, Chat GPT learned to lie. You are correct, the USB/SATA and other connectivity goes through chipset. Some of those old chipsets don't have USB 3.0 support but they are still fully compatible with LGA 2011v3 CPUs, just Intel never officially supported such configuration because they wanted to sell expensive X99/C612 chipsets.
Perhaps it is time to review Chinese AM4/AM5 motherboards?
Sounds like a boring project to me. Who would buy Chinese AMD boards when brand new options from stores often have better prices.
I can't even find this motherboard on the Chinese Taobao marketplace :)) with the keyword E5-A99 or something
It's an AliExpress only name, I believe on TaoBao they are sold under a different name.

@@Miyconst The motherboard. It looks like a great board. I just tried to buy one. No dice.
Check other AliExpress offers, there are several stores selling these.
Will you recommend buying this one instead of the mr9a pro?
Both are about the same. I would pick the one that's cheaper and the one that looks better according to you.
Good afternoon.
Yes , too many x99 motherboards
Any chance for review any cheapest am5 or intel 1700 ?
There is a chance. Do you have any specific motherboard in mind?
H670 or Q670 with vPro, both available on Ali for about 195€ and 220€ respectively. I'm considering a build with a Q670 and an i5 13500 for Nas/homelab.
Or Maxsun b650m
using m2 sata is just stupid. they should do 2-3 m2 nvme slots....
Yeah.. the problem is that NVMe requires more and better quality traces from the CPU while SATA comes from the chipset. So it's just a matter of the price.
