- So excited for my newest addition!
Spoiler- My husband had already opened the box (to offer water) before making the video because I didn't have a chance to film right away. Otherwise I wouldn't have blindly reached in ;) But it was my first time unboxing her myself!
Music: www.purple-planet.com & www.bensound.com/royalty-free...
Imagine trying to look intimidating after having been transported in a box with "Harmless Reptile" printed on it in big letters. lol
😂 lol
Lol 😂😂😂😂😆
Hahaha that just makes it more cute
To be fair I think the box was removed before she was taken out of the bag, so I don’t think the snake was able to read it. I may be wrong though.
Hognoses: I am scared. Hood.
Emily: CUUUUUTE
Hognose: gosh dang it
KKryptic omg so true lol
It’s not a hognose
@@NoobyGangYEET what do u mean
so true, i thiught of the exact same meme lol
@@NoobyGangYEET it is lol it's a western hog nose if u were listening
"Easterns have more of an attitude"
*Reaches blindly into bag*
To be fair, Hognose snakes are pretty much completely harmless to humans.
They don’t bite not even easterners I’ve never gotten bit by mine just booped
Lol 😂
Hognoses don't really bite. When scared they hood up and play dead. However they can bite on accident if they strike you instead of pray, or if there REALLY pushed to bite. They will however do false strikes to try and scare, but not actually bite.
@@MadiiPlays prey*
Snake: tries to intimidate her
Her: I’m not intimidated at all. I think it’s really cute
Snake: O-O
Queen Charleston I would like your comment but since it’s on 21 I don’t want to remove the meme
*ABORT MISSION*
hognose snakes have really big owo faces so I think it's more of a:
snake: ÒωÓ
Also snek: Ò~Ó
"Just gonna reach in...Crap they sent a rattlesnake!"
Will Sheffield I was thinking the same thing lol!
Read the description : ) it's a comfort that she knew she wouldnt be in any danger
I was thinking the same thing just imagine if they stuffed up the order and sent the wrong snake
Right now some venomous snake hobbyist is thinking where is my rattlesnake and why did they send me a hog nose
You meant Cobra
Emily: I'm not scared at all, i think it's pretty cute
Eastern Hognose: AM I A JOKE TO YOU???
Good one
Emily: yes you are a joke to me
lol i never got any notifications for this comment until now, dang it's been a while
Admit it; you just stood up to show off that Charizard belt buckle. X3
She actually has a great collection of a lot of cool belt buckles based on what she has worn in other videos.
XD XD XD XD XD XD
Pokémon gotta catch em all!
Beautiful snakes. When I was younger, we used to catch diamondback and timber rattlers and sell them to the University of Georgia anti-venom unit. We also caught corals, but you won't believe where we caught them. Korger distribution in Forrest Park Georgia got banana shipments from central America and there were often some corals in the bananas. Happy herping!
Westerns ! just cuz they're easier to get on rodents.
Easterns look cooler tho
Exotics Lair I think the westerns are cuter but eastern are badass
nice to see you in this comment section, like you're reptiles as well!
Nice too see you here, I love your vids I'm subed fyi
Pissy is my idol
I love snaces so much i have one my self i have i baby easterns 😊
Eastern is my favorite, simply for the fact that I can tell an uneducated friend/company that it's a baby cobra. Always freaks them out when I free hand them
Don’t need a hog for that, my family friends think my ball pythons are baby cobras 💀
I like the Eastern's fancy Cobra impression, but the Western has that super cute nose and chubby cheeks!
The snake is like "Rawr"
you are like
"It is trying to sound intimidating. I am not scared"
Snake: ":("
Used to catch these as a kid. They're my favorite snakes. BTW I'm from SW Michigan.
If u tap them on the head that's when they go into cobra mode. Hilarious.
I love the way the eastern Hognose flattens its body, but I have to admit I prefer the cute nose of the western Hognose just a tiny tiny bit.
I love your energy and informative nature!
Do I keep it as 69 or do I like the comment?
Hognose: Hood, Hiss, Bite, Flatten out
Emily: Awwww! How cute!
Hognose: I already know that no matter how hard you try I will never lose my attitude. I hate you already.
Emily: *Still thinks it is cute*
😂😂😂
Your passion for these magnificent creatures is contagious! Keep up the good work.
I am quite found of Western hognose cause I love their unique faces. But the Easterns do have amazing colors and look surprisingly cobra like. I think the real answer is I love snakes and wish I could have them all! :D
I agree with the eastern part
I like the cute Westerns, but those easterns are the funniest ones yet.
HakuRules1133 gotta catch 'em all.
Gorgeous snakes! Hognose snakes are actually what initially got me interested in snakes. I grew up in a really rural area where snakes were pretty heavily demonized. (Rattlesnakes galore and even non-venomous snakes were considered pests.) So I grew up with that mentality. Now I'm very proud to say I love snakes and try to advocate for them as much as I can with friends and family. They're absolutely amazing creatures and so fascinating to learn about! (I also actually have two Hognose snakes of my own! Henry is pretty chill, but Harvey has an attitude comparable to a grizzly bear in spring.)
“I’m not intimidated at all, I think it’s really cute” This is the best quote of a time
"I'm not intimidated at all. I think its cute."
This is why I love her!
I love the Charizard belt buckle :3
I rlly rlly rlly want a snake but my mom and my brother are too scared😩
Eliza Ham lovin the Hamilton
same here.
Maybe show them a video Emily has of her egg-eating snakes? They have no teeth to bite with, no venom, and don't get as large as other species. Also someone squeamish about snakes might be uncomfortable with feeding mice to them too, so eggs are very clean. I am not a snake owner myself, and have no experience, I am just suggesting this to perhaps get them acclimated to the idea of a snake. Take away the parts of something that makes it scary, and it's not so scary. :)
Nevermind about showing them a video, seeing one eat might freak them out more... maybe just tell them about egg eaters and how they have no teeth and stuff, and show them a video of baby garters being fed worms? Desensitization or acclimation may be your best bet. Slowly introduce the concept of snakes not being scary.
FantasyAddict95 my mom dose not care how big they r or how non venomous they r she just HATES slithery things😂😂😅
I love how they think they're so intimidating, when really, they're cuter than ever. Their defense works, but not the way they expected it to.
Westerns are cuter than easterns, imo. They're both cute, though.
I love, love, love the eastern hognose. I'd love to get one in the next few years. Their variance in attitudes make them one of my favorite snakes!
She's gorgeous and I love how big and tuff she thinks she is. 😁🖤
Blindly reaching in nope wouldn't do that. On the small chance that you were accidently shipped a different species could be a real bad day. Just take a quick glance. Awesome vid though.
Spoiler- My husband had already opened the box before making the video because I didn't have a chance to film right away. So I already knew what was in there ;) Because you're right, blindly reaching in would not be a good idea! It was the first time I unboxed her though.
I won't one
Snake Discovery Either snake is just as good. What I like about them is that they hood up because I thought only cobras did that, and we all know how dangerous cobras can be.
Take care and God bless.
Snake Discovery I like both eastern and western hognosed snakes, and it wouldn't make a difference either way. If I had to choose, I'd use a coin and say if it's heads, I'd take the eastern; and if it's tails, I'd take the western. I like the way they hood up because I thought only cobras hood up, and we all know how dangerous cobras can be.
Take care and God loves you.
xTheCalmBeforeThex lol dont worry her husband checks before :)
Omg, Hognose snakes are my absolute favourite snake! Their little face is so adorable and the snoot is just beautiful! Congrats on your new eastern!
0:03 when somebody I know dislikes me and is suddenly befriending me
Hah good one
Especially in the same tone as her,
I would be pissed too if I was kept in a small box.
Unboxing Tech iiii
ya how do they breath or strech in a tiny box in a tied bag
Dude she was just keeping them in the small boxes while she was showing them they have a bigger enclosure chill and as for the snake she received their only kept there for a few hours while being shipped she probably gave it a bigger enclosure after showing it and snakes do fine in bags obviously not plastic though
Clifford Dodson cloth bags are not air tight and boxes have air holes.
Jane Doe Deer I don't see any air holes
I just love hognose snakes!! I found a tiny tiny little 7 inch eastern hognose yesterday. I almost kept him as a pet but found a wonderful place for him away from my job site. I'm sure he's very happy now.
That was great for you to let him go! Easterns are such stubborn eaters.
I might have more hognoses this season- my conda female is laying eggs as we speak! More details to come soon in a video!
I love how the easterns flatten themselves out like a pancake and I love their coloring but I can’t get over that adorable little nose on the westerns 😍
How are u not scared when they flatten out or do a strike pose ?
today was horrible but watching you unbox the snake makes to day all better
The ironic part of snakes hissing, is that they cannot hear their own hiss.

Heinrich Von Kekelnazi I was the 69th like on your comment I’m sorry I couldn’t help it

I recently got a western male hatchling. He is feisty and adorable. Thank you for the info. I can really use it.
Probably the first video I absolutely HAD to comment on, 'cause I LOVE these guys! We get them under our shed every year here in GA, and I absolutely love them. They're probably the only feral snake that I don't mind handling, 'cause they chill out and allow handling on the regular with surprising quickness.
They’re all BEAUTIFUL!

Emily: guess what I got a new snake😁
Me: wow I really didn't expect that😑
Lol
hissy fit! XD
Hognoses are my favorite too.
I do have another favorite snake is the sunbeam snake.
I love your videos. You're so fun! I prefer the Western hognose because I love the patterns of the wild type and that upturned nose is just too cute for words.
I love the look of the eastern!❤️
Hiss
Me scary snek
I scare yu
U r scared of meh
Hiiiiiisssssssssss
Rattle
Rattle AAHHH you scared me 😨😨😩😩😰😰😰😨😨😨😨😨😵😵😵😵😫😫
Ahahah the snek is gonna kill meh
That snek is very scary
Omg I love you danger noodles
Omg I love you sooo much I only started watching you yesterday and I have decided to get a corn snake from your top five starter snakes. My mom doesn’t like snakes but from your videos she is warming up to them. Thank you so much for devoting your time to educating kids about reptiles.
Omg that easterns scales look unreal! Amazing!
I love your belt dragon 🐉
Can westerns and eastern cross breed? And if they do would it cause any problems for the hatchlings?
since she said they were different species, they likely wouldnt be able to have hatchlings/the hatchlings would have congenital problems
I think the Hognose has become one of my favorites! My dog was outside barking like crazy; went outside and there was a black snake stretched out in front of him. I moved it to let my kids see before relocating to the woods, and it kept rolling over to play dead.
Both. Can’t decide which so I’m going w both since they r each equally beautiful!
Which ever one has the more turned up nose 🤗, i hope to have one some day
Western!
Eastern
Thank you for making me not scared of snakes anymore. I’ve been watching for a few months and I have new appreciation for them
I really love Albino Western Hognoses! They're so beautiful 😍
Oh I love hoggies to! I have one his name is Io he’s 8 weeks old
where you can buy / get those snakes??
+Snake Discovery
ThEgAmEr XD check their website
i wish easterns had that cute little pupper face that westerns have! westerns' faces are so cute!!!! 🥰
Both are stunning but I love the western hognose upturned snoot so much!
I love the ball python snakes
All even Madagascar and tri color
BeachLoverGirl the Tricolor are definitely a worthy addition to a Hognose collection
Wonderful pets! I like tham all, western or eastern - they are both beautiful! :))
Emily you are brave reaching into that bag lol. Love your videos. I had a California King snake back in the 70s, they are my favorite but dang, that cobra-esque Eastern hognose is so cool!
0:30 I know they're okay but the container being so close to the edge was giving me extreme anxiety
Can hognoses ever have bands in their coloration? I'm still trying to identify a dead snake I saw one time that doesn't look like anything on my state's registry
Rick M Sometimes, but not often. If you send me a picture I may be able to identify it.
Snake Discovery ahh, I wish I took one. This was a few years back while I was working. The best I could do is give a description of it. I'm thinking it was either a hognose or some sort of water snake
Both Western and Eastern hognoses are beautiful in their own right 😍💓 Watching your videos and doing my own research has definitely got me interested in the species 😊 I love the dark colors of the Eastern! Their defense mechanism of flattening out their hood is very interesting. I just have a royal python atm, but I am definitely going to get a couple of different boas, a Kenyan sand boa and a Columbian, but a conda hognose might also be in my future 😄 Your bull snakes are also stunning!
You are a blessing for these creatures
Charizard belt!
I love her clothes
I'm really considering buying a Green Tree Pyton, which will be my first snake.
nathaniel willis jr those might be challenging for a first snake but with proper information and giving it the care it needs I'm sure you could
SansMEMELORD2020 Thanks, for the good afvice
Mahat Abdijabar if he does the research I’m pretty sure he can have one, I would recommended at least 6 months of research before buying a snake tho, green trees aren’t hard, as a hatchling I would keep one in a tall clear tub and mist it every other day, humidity is easy to get but hard to decrease, also I wouldn’t handle a green tree since they’re fragile.
Valiant Faynt Thank you for the very good advice!!!
nathaniel willis jr be careful they are not human friendly they are definitely an observation only type of snake and kind of challenging for a first timer
Eastern looks very beautiful with its darker scales!!
Eastern is so beautiful!!
I really want a snake but I'm not sure what kind I should get. Help pls?
GodOfHyperDeath It depends on what you're looking for and what you're prepared to spend. Do you want an active snake or one that will sit with you? Do you want something big or small? Colubrids like corn snakes, kings, garters, hognoses, etc. tend to be more active, but their husbandry is a bit easier. By contrast, pythons and boas are great, but will require higher himidty, etc.
i want a bigger more active one. Any ideas?
GodOfHyperDeath Maybe a king snake/milk snake? They are diurnal, so they are pretty active during the day and can get to be a good size (ex. A Cali king is about 3-4 ft on average.) They also come in a variety of stunning colors. They have a reputation for being a bit fiesty when they're younger, but that's the case with most colubrids.
LegallyBrunette and Beautiful sounds nice, I'll look into it. Thanks!
A corn snake they are great
How many snakes do you have? And do they all live in plastic bins full wood chips?
Ferrara KidsClub she has a breeding program so over or around 50? And no that's just the substrate for hognoses
I used to have an eastern in my backyard, it scared me as a kid. Now I know they are cute and harmless!
I love your intro on this one. You look so happy !
Emily: guess what? I got a new snake!
Me: of course you did
eastern
man that brings me back, i owned 2 easterns when i was young, one i caught mysefl when I was like 4 or 5. They have such a cool look.
I luv ur channel u brought back my luv for snakes
I like snake
I think I'd of made sure it was a Eastern Hognose before just shoving my hand in all willy nilly like that. Don't trust people, just snakes.
Western. They remind me of a scene from the painted desert. The tan sand & red rocks. Just beautiful.
the eastern colour is BEAUTIFUL!
why are they in those tiny clear bins?
natural4lifemiss they're not bins... They're tubs, big difference... A bin is for trash and a tub can be used for animals like snakes and spiders, She's a breeder so she don't have space for 20 enclosures, plus Hognose snakes get 3.5 foot at max so a tub that's 2 foot in length and 1 foot in width is good enough for these snakes.
Doesn't have space ok.Big difference not really bin/tub not everyone calls clear plastic bin's tub's.A tub is something you bathe in.A bin has multiple purposes.
natural4lifemiss nope, a bath tub is something you bath in... And they do have space they're just smaller for the smaller snakes, her adult hognoses are in like 60 quart tubs(which are massive)
yeah i don't really care that much just asked a question.........

Sorry just discovered your videos so this comment is not timed well but I had to say the eastern hognose ( the only hognose i am familiar with) has always been a fav of mine since I was young and found this friendly charmer of a snake in the woods across from my parents house. I brought him home to show my family but later took him home to his. Do not remember how I knew he was a hognose when i first saw him. Guessing it was reading the World Book Encyclopedia. We lived with copperheads and rattlers so it was important to know your snakes. Was great seeing one again, thank you.
Thank you for this video! My brother sent me a picture of a huge eastern hognose in his backyard (We're in the Great Lakes area), asking if we had cobras in MN, hahahahaha. I love hognose snakes, all huffy indignation and adorableness.
next time seller accidently put a taipan, and she puts her hand like this. :) RIP
Rozairo Fernando or perhaps a black mamba? 😂
Perhaps a Bitis nasicornus?
I love it so much.
Rozairo Fernando I Love it
Rozairo Fernando wwe
it looks like a cobra
You
That’s the point. The want to look more dangerous and venomous than they actually are
OMG THE OLD INTRO!! MEMORIES 😭❤️❤️
I love western hognose babies, they have the cute snouts and charming personalities, definitely my favorite snake of all time!
Why are they in those plastic containers? Don't they need a cage!?
+positive puppo lol I had them in travel containers for the sake of the video. I couldn't have them slithering all over the counter when I was trying to film :P
Snake Discovery Thank god. I was so worried that THOSE were their everyday cages.
when you have 40 snakes like she does you don't have room for 40 cages like she doesn't. and plus those containers are just the right size, not too clear, they're small and kinda tight so it makes the snake feel secure and comfortable like they would hiding under a rock in the wild
They’re both adorable
Western. I like vibrant patterns on snakes. Especially in the cream to brown range.
So the eastern is adorable, but the western gets me with their derpy little faces every time.
Omg I love your Charizard belt!!!!! ❤️
That hiss sound sounded like a balloon deflating.SO cute.
They’re both adorable :)
They flatten? AWEEEE 😍😍😍😍
So many of our snakes in western Australia where we live are venomous so we only have a small selection to keep on our initial licences. But we have a lovely desert Stimson and she's soo chilled. Just love her. Seems like you have quite the selection to choose from.
Eastern Hognoses are probably my favorite native snake. Their defense arsenal is just so cute. We call them little drama queens.I actually just watched your hog nose clutch hatch today and one of the babies “died”. I know it means they are terrified, but it is just so cute to me.
i honestly like eastern and western they both look awsome!
Western can’t beat the “pug” nose going on plus the patterns are beautiful!
