May want to check out egg eating snakes. Easy to handle, have no teeth and only eat eggs. They are a cool snake.

You could try morphmarket.com or just go to an expo, it’s not the exact place she gets hers, but it is where you can get them.

I've tried finding this answer on the internet and can't. How long do you quarantine snakes? Is it the same time with other reptiles? Thanks. Pat
i think it depends on how healthy the snake looks. if you see no immediate imperfections, i'd suggest 2-4, and thats if you're confident in their health and the breeder and then if you see mites or signs of a respiratory infection or any other imperfections, i'd suggest giving the proper medications and then waiting another 2-4 weeks after the symptoms have disappeared. but of course, i'm not very experienced, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

This show has made me very interested in reptiles, and owning them. Sadly my family is afraid of snakes and some other reptiles, and refuse to let me get one, of any reptile. 🙁

well you could save up about 500 dollars... them thing sell for a bit plus you need money for the enclosers, foods, and some stuff for the cage like hides and stuff that they can burrow in and a pair of tongs to feed them with... and frozen mice make good food for them just unthaw the mouse in water then feed it to the snake... the hognose is very simple to take care of so it wont really need any special equipment other than the basic stuff i mentioned above....

Would you be able to do a video on how to tame/handle baby snakes? I recently got a baby California Kingsnake (not sure how old he is but he’s super tiny!) and we’re very unsure of each other, I’ve never had a snake before so I’m just worried about scaring him or starting him off badly. He’s super quick and such a skinny little super noodle I’m just worried about handling him. Any info greatly appreciated! 🐍🙈

Hello! Im looking for some advice! I got my western hognose (most likely a female) from a local shop in town. I normally would stride to buy from a breeder but this was a special occasion because the snake was there for quite a while (I got her in July and saw her in march while she was super tiny.. yes I am sure it was her) and the people obviously didn't know much about them. She is still SO much smaller than a normal hoggie especially since she is a female and for how old she is (I'm guessing she hatched in February or march). They said they were feeding once to twice a week but I dont think so because she was small and skinny when I got her. As of now she has only refused a meal from me once (the last time) and eats once a week (sometimes twice if she is extra hungry). She has definitely plumped up but I'm concerned because she isn't growing at all! She's smaller than the two shown in the video and is only a small bit bigger than a normal sized hatchling (feeding on pinkies still). I'm thinking she was a runt but I can't really be too sure because of the shady nature of the people there (also they are illegal where I live but when I called the local wildlife services, they checked it out and somehow they found a loophole by denying the correct species of the snake and only saying it's a "hognose" rather than a western hognose). Anyway I'm looking for tips and advice from anyone who maybe has had this happen or knows good ways to fatten up hoggies that goes in depth rather than a blunt "feed her more" (I'm trying to feed twice a week but the last time I fed twice she simply wasn't interested). Anything would be appreciated :)
E Reynolds As long as she's eating at least once or twice a week, I would just keep doing what you're doing. Sometimes it's hard for us to notice growth in snakes since we see them everyday, so I suggest weighing her once a week to see if there's a difference over time. It's possible she became somewhat stunted if she wasn't fed much at the store.

In your genetics video you said there can be only 2 morphs in a snake (including wild Type) but they have a 50 percent chance of having 3morphs.Brian barczyk has ball pythons with so many morphs.Even if it applies only to hognose snakes it still doesn’t make sense because of the pair you got
Snake morphs function very differently depending on the type, ball pythons can have MANY morphs at once. Het means that it isn’t visible outwardly, but is in their genetics.
Her genetics video was also extremely simplified for ease of understanding. It’s a complicated subject. Hope that helps!

HELP: i caught a wild garter snake baby and i have a captive ball python pet. Is it worth even keeping the baby because i cant keep it on the other side of the house and as well do you have to change ur clothes after working with the qaurntined one? As well as is it ok to keep a garter snake in a tub with some hides and water but no temp gradient? Im probably just going to let it go cause i dont want too much of a risk if its hard to qaurntine. I handle my ball python every day and i love her very much

I don't think you have to because the only reason why you should quarantine is so if they were sick it would not spread to the other snakes
