    hi i have 3 pair of moc identical to the one shown in your video ,one soft leather sole wchich are my preferd one , one with crepe sole for town use or heavy rocky terrain , and one low ankle suede leather soft sole and they are all awesome , extra light weight ,tearing resistant , extra silent when walking , my collegue at work call me a ninja to tell you how silent they are and so confortable its really like wearing slippers , the closest foot wear to barefoot feeling you can get , i am on the point to buy a new one for more winter use with wool lining for more mountain exploration and hiking , love these laurentian chief mocassins , i recommanded them to every outdoor men and women who want the best of footwear they can find, and they are also great as slippers at home too.
    keep up the great work Laurentian chief !

    Nice! I remember back in 2011 I walked 12 miles along a highway in a pair of buckskin moccasins. Hardly any damage done to them. I do agree that moccasins should be the go-to footwear for hunting. Take care

    To be stealthy in super dry forests, I have a pair with soles I made put of thick felt. Sheepskin (with fur, fur side as sole) works very very well, but sometimes picks up leaves that may then make noise rubbing on you or something nearby as it sticks out past the moc's outline.. but is a fair trade off in some situations

    How waterproof are these? Or maybe water resistant would be a better term. As far as dewy grass frost and damp ground? My grandpa hunted barefoot and had a pair of moccasins, I never got to meet him but my dad said he was deadly in the deer woods...

  • @mathurinkerbouchard8931
    @mathurinkerbouchard8931 6 лет назад

    Great video, Ryan. If you had chosen to use one with just a leather sole and not crepe in your Idaho hunt, what do you think would have happened to the mocs? Would you have torn them apart?

    • @huntprimitive9918
      @huntprimitive9918  6 лет назад

      I don't think so. not any more so than the crepe sole. It wasn't actually the sole that took the most abuse, it was the sides that took a lot of rash from the shale slides.

    How are they for being waterproof (soles) Gill?

    • @huntprimitive9918
      @huntprimitive9918  6 лет назад

      they arent waterproof, but I also don't wear them if it's really wet out because I can stalk in anything and still be quite. I typically just love them for my dry days. Now, that being said, if you just hit some moist ground or dew, they really arent too bad. the soles are oil tanned in some cases and do pretty well as keeping dry if not slogging through the really wet stuff.
