You guys really wanted this one! Thank you for your continued support on here. I'm feeling in a really good 'RUclips zone' and it really is because of you guys. (I never do sentimental, but you deserve it 💙)
If you guys want the hold of pink but hate how hard it is to wash out you can apply a TINY bit of reuzel red first (water based) then use the pink (grease based). The water red will bond to your hair and the pink will bond to the red. So red washes out and takes pink with it.
Thanks great tip! I've been using red for years and just started to try the pink - love the texture but it literally does not wash out so I'll try this method.
@@arthurconde6945 I dont see why not, blue is also water soluble. Personally, since I made the original comment 3 years ago, Ive moved on to just using the Reuzel Tonic + Pink. While my hair is still damp I rub the tonic thoroughly through all my hair. Then I blow dry while brushing. You can roll the brush so your hair winds around it and lifts. Basically start with the brush facing you and brush backwards 1 or 2 inches then roll the brush so it faces the mirror and lift straight up vertically. Gives you great volume and lift that wont buckle under the weight of pomade. When you're all done blowdrying you have the volume and direction you want. Just rub the pink in your hands real good to heat it up a bit and work it though all your hair. The tonic and brush/blow do all the work so you only need like a nickle sized amount of pink to get the finishing shape(and sheen) you want.
The three "official" scents for Goon Grease are actually cinnamon sandalwood, citrus cologne and lemon which is packaged differently with the mascot on the tin. The tobacco vanille scent is a weekly custom scent run that the folks at Lockhart's do. It changes every week
I absolutely love reuzel, I would really recommend their clay, I have been using it for a month or so after switching from oil based pomades cause my girlfriend dosnt like the shine , it was an eye opener and made me want to get into matte products
Ok I gotta say this. I've been looking and looking for the right guides on which products to buy and how to style my hair and I think I found my mentor.
You're probably my new favorite youtuber cuz your videos are super educational but also entertaining and best of all, you respond to comments which makes people's days - thank you man for himself!!!
I really like how after all these suggestions u are finally getting into pomades. Thanks a lot.Plz cover more homebrewed stuffs. Now not gonna say amazing video cause they are always amazing and told so many times.
Oil based pomades tend to be tough to work with if you have a plastic comb. In this video I believe it's a Kent acetate based comb which is great for an oil based pomade, but nothing will beat a steel comb and oil based pomade.
Side note, when I met the owners of Reuzel, the tins are designed that way strictly because it looks vintage & can get beaten up, just like a greaser would have had in the 40's & 50's. Also I was wondering if you could review their shampoo system for shampooing out the Reuzel Pink (Oil based & the Schorem owners personal favorite pomade). They say apply 'Daily Conditioner' to soften product. Use 'Scrub Shampoo' then finish with 'Daily Shampoo'. I think it would do great on this channel to really evaluate that system Keep up the great work Robin! & hello from Texas!
lockhart is really cool because they have a different scent every week that you can get their products in. the tobacco vanille is their scent for this week
Dude I’m such a novice....so this entire time you have to work and warm the product up in your hands?! No wonder I’m trying to get glumps of Reuzel to spread haha
Hey Robin can you make some brand battles on skin care products? It would be amazing without any doubt! Also I can hear some white noice from your microphone just so you know for future videos.
Not sure if that would be the best battle; they both have very different purposes. They're my two absolute GO-TOs for daily use though, both are so freakin good.
Great video with great pomades! I personally like the Reuzel Blue (water based). Great hold and even better smell and washes out no bother. Keep the vids coming Robin! 👍
You should've put reuzel heavy up against lockharts heavy. Goon grease is more of a firm hold with high shine where as the heavy is heavy hold with a low shine, much like reuzel heavy
Always love some brand battle before going to sleep !!!!! , Do Carter Supply FLux vs Blumaan meraki smooth or MM SB Also it could be handy to make a table of the points which product won so you can see why that product got the most points
Hey robin what do u think of giving more importance to criteria like ease of application styling washabilty by giving maybe 2 or 3 marks rather than same as packaging..
Hey Robin, are you planning on doing a BvVilain Blow vs Kevin Murphies POWDER.PUFF brand battle? I´d be interested in seeing you cover Volumizing Powders :)
Hi robin, I honestly could not believe my eyes when I went on RUclips after getting back from the gym and sore this video on my feed. Been a subscriber for a while and have been using pomade for the last few months. My first pomade was reuzel pink, although my tin is about empty. So I was on the hunt for a new pomade to add to my collection. I had stumbled across lockharts goon grease. this video review has helped me so much. Thank you.
Robin James Watching the video again haha, just wondered if you could do a brand comparison within the brands? E.g. Lockharts medium vs heavy or reuzel pink vs green?
Reuzel Pink holds better than GG but the scent is damn headache-inducing and its not just me, but also several people I know have complained about it. Too sweet, not good for hot country. I choose GG over Reuzel anytime of the day.
3 years later this and is still such a quality vid! Do you still use either of these (or any OB actually)? I’m looking into getting an OB pomade and I’m considering the Reuzel...
you pronounced it correctly throughout the video. you still have that english R but that's a minor detail. the eu sound is the hardest, and you say it perfectly
lol and I was thinking "he's giving the points that don't matter to Goony and the important ones to Ruezel" and of course great minds thinking alike as they do, you said pretty much said just that at the end lol very good! p.s. not that packaging and scent don't matter. but agree with what another person said washability, styling, ease of application should be worth 2 pts and packaging, price, scent should be worth 1pt. No matter the battle this would work cause, it's common sense to think some things are more important. that way something a cheap pretty package won't ever beat a superior product. #teamlockhart
What a huge difference in quality from Robin's videos compared to the non edited, cheap looking videos of The Pomp... Robin has GREAT quality videos, editing, music and all that. Keep it up Robin
Hey, still waiting for that review on Reuzel line :). Currently using the Matte Clay Pomade but not a big fan of the outcome, I like more the oil based products so I'll give a try to their pink pomade. Helpful video ;)
Great videos well done. Have you done a review on odouds water based? It's what I currently use and would be interested to see how it compares to other products you have reviewed. Looking to try other unorthodox pomades
Hey Robin! To pronounce Reuzel properly, the "eu"sound is like the the "i" in "sir", but still slightly different. This is the closest I can get with only written text. You could use google translate and listen to "Reuze"l. It sounds exactly how you should pronounce it. ;) Anyway, nice vid as always!
I've beeen looking for a pomade for a while so i loved this brand battle.. ordered the Reuzel. hope you can do some skin care brand battles maybe Kiehl's Vs Clinique
You have an interesting way of styling your hair... combing it back to front in the "wrong" direction and applying product in the same way. I have to try this tomorrow morning because it looks very easy and seems to achieve a good hight. Was your hair dry or damp and how many scoops did you use?
Hey Robin! great brand battle as usual. Just wondering if you could do a brand battle between Morris Motley's Treatment Styling Balm and Kevin Murphy's Night Rider/Rough Rider. Have a wonderful day!
Hey, Robin! Really enjoy the Brand Battle series, you do a great job. I'm 17 and I've recently started using more pomade, specifically the cool grease fiber. I've been seeing about 5-10 hairs fall out as I comb my hair in place. Is this normal?
It's not fair to give one point to smell same as one point for actual purpose of pomade. You've got to make it more basketball rule, styling should be three pointer ;) also it really matter much how product acts few hours later. Some dry out your hair and some make it oily and give totally different look which is good to know. If you get time to wait for products to dry out try it.
With oil based pomades, does it affect your skin at all? I get an oily forehead which has always put me off using pomades in case it runs or anything like that, keep up the good work dude!
Tom Lander well use pomades when you know that you ain't gonna do fisical activity, try the DAX. products , they like 5 to 7 euros and they are very good , or try the water base pomades
From someone who has used both can I just say this review is just one persons opinion. I've used numerous pomades including reuzel green and reuzel pink and lockharts goon grease is way better then both of them. Please don't take my word for it. Try them for yourself and you'll never use reuzel again.
hey do you think you could compare dax high and tight awesome shine and murrays superior pomade? Thanks much. I love your videos by the way I watch them very frequently
Honestly depends what you are going for if you want slickness nice sidepart sidepart pomp or slick back reuzel green is excellent. If you want a style with volume to hold up the thin hair with brute force the reuzel pink will do the job perfectly I myself have thin hair so I feel the struggle. But I find with thin hair oil based pomades hold the hair together much nicer than waterbased pomades hope that helps
You guys really wanted this one!
Thank you for your continued support on here. I'm feeling in a really good 'RUclips zone' and it really is because of you guys.
(I never do sentimental, but you deserve it 💙)
can you do one on Murray's Pomade?
Can you do a brand battle with Pete and Pedro's putty v Detroit Co. Grooming Putty?
Robin James you need to do bench fix 360 clay doh
shear revival crystal lake vs flagship blackship
uppercut deluxe pomade vs slick devil
Yes finally a reuzel spotlight! Shout out all the piggys out there
I'm a new piggy... a piglet!
Can u do blue and pink?
@@arthurconde6945 I dont see why not, blue is also water soluble.

They were neck and neck with those points. If I had a choice between the two I wouldn't have known which one to pick.
It was so tight!
The three "official" scents for Goon Grease are actually cinnamon sandalwood, citrus cologne and lemon which is packaged differently with the mascot on the tin. The tobacco vanille scent is a weekly custom scent run that the folks at Lockhart's do. It changes every week
Thank you! Good to know.
Robin James My pleasure! Love the series btw
I absolutely love reuzel, I would really recommend their clay, I have been using it for a month or so after switching from oil based pomades cause my girlfriend dosnt like the shine , it was an eye opener and made me want to get into matte products
Holy crap you really did it and it is awesome !!! You are amazing Robin, by far one of my favourite youtubers!!
I did it and I loved it!
Mousebird I agree the fact that he responds shows he cares
Thank you. I appreciate all your comments.
You wear green t-shirt just for Goon Grease? Hahahah, you sir are professional
I noticed that to but I think I'm ocd about that.
Good eye!
NBA6Fan You wanna dance with Dom mazzeti
NBA6Fan pee pee!
I really like how after all these suggestions u are finally getting into pomades. Thanks a lot.Plz cover more homebrewed stuffs. Now not gonna say amazing video cause they are always amazing and told so many times.
Thanks Istiak. Absolutely - would love to explore more.

Hey Justin,
Thanks for this and good tips on the shampoo. Will look out for it. Could be a good video!
Hello to Texas!
u would literally do anything to please the fans.. massive2 respect to you.. kudos robin!!👏👏
Fans isn't a word I like. It makes it all a hierarchy. Let's go subscribers!
But thank you!
Robin James Respect sir :)
reuzel pink pomade vs uppercut monster hold which is better??? Has high hold????
lockhart is really cool because they have a different scent every week that you can get their products in. the tobacco vanille is their scent for this week
Amazing! The product smells great.
Dude I’m such a novice....so this entire time you have to work and warm the product up in your hands?! No wonder I’m trying to get glumps of Reuzel to spread haha
Full range review on Reuzel? Oh yeeees!
Oh yes!
your brand battles are always so good
Thanks Jose.
These are my two all time favorite heavy hold oil based. Anytime someone asks me what my favorite pomade is I have to say Goon Grease and reuzel pink.
Hey Robin can you make some brand battles on skin care products? It would be amazing without any doubt! Also I can hear some white noice from your microphone just so you know for future videos.
Hey Lanmater! Absolutely. And yes, the gain was down on the microphone. Only noticed after I filmed it.
Dead sea clay by flagship vs Arcadian clay
Not sure if that would be the best battle; they both have very different purposes. They're my two absolute GO-TOs for daily use though, both are so freakin good.
Still to try
What would the different purposes be?
Can't get over how much thicker and fuller your hair looks great video robin
Me too!
Great video with great pomades! I personally like the Reuzel Blue (water based). Great hold and even better smell and washes out no bother. Keep the vids coming Robin! 👍
I love the goon grease unorthodox because it feels like goon grease but washes out super easy. That’s my fav
Reuzel makes a clay pomade and a fiber pomade I feel like you would like a lot.
You should've put reuzel heavy up against lockharts heavy. Goon grease is more of a firm hold with high shine where as the heavy is heavy hold with a low shine, much like reuzel heavy
Thanks Mana. Maybe one for future.
Always love some brand battle before going to sleep !!!!! , Do Carter Supply FLux vs Blumaan meraki smooth or MM SB
Also it could be handy to make a table of the points which product won so you can see why that product got the most points
Good suggestions.
Just watching the thumbnail of this video got me exited. This fight is like batman vs superman, two of the most epic pomades.
Love that comparison!
Hey robin what do u think of giving more importance to criteria like ease of application styling washabilty by giving maybe 2 or 3 marks rather than same as packaging..
I could do that but it could change every time depending on the product type.
Ok..just tht it would bring about a clear winner in each battle..have seen worst products wit great packaging..anyway great video as always ..cheers
Hey Robin, are you planning on doing a BvVilain Blow vs Kevin Murphies POWDER.PUFF brand battle? I´d be interested in seeing you cover Volumizing Powders :)
Ercan Kilic yes plz
Hey Ercan, no plans for now.
Thanks for the answer! :) any personal recommendations on a volumizing powder? they seem quite handy for thin hair!
Robin, your channel is the best for brand battel.
Hi robin, I honestly could not believe my eyes when I went on RUclips after getting back from the gym and sore this video on my feed. Hey Luke. This is what I like to hear! You'll love Lockhart's.
Robin James Watching the video again haha, just wondered if you could do a brand comparison within the brands? E.g. Lockharts medium vs heavy or reuzel pink vs green?
In my book these are tied for my number 1, I love their smells love the hold love the companies. I can't pick between them. Great video
Oil based ftw! Usually get Sixty8(I think it's calles?) Just bought a sample tin of the ruezel. We'll see.
Best wishes everybody.
Reuzel Pink holds better than GG but the scent is damn headache-inducing and its not just me, but also several people I know have complained about it. Too sweet, not good for hot country. I choose GG over Reuzel anytime of the day.

Never thought I'd see an oil-based pomade brand battle. Really got to hand it to Nioxin I guess.
Robin James you are the best!!! ❤️
Too kind.
yay! I'm glad you did reuzel! somehow i missed it when it was released and only noticed it now!!
Very nice presentation from start to finish. My reviews pale by comparison. You gotta new fan! Keep the 'stache!
lol and I was thinking "he's giving the points that don't matter to Goony and the important ones to Ruezel" and of course great minds thinking alike as they do, you said pretty much said just that at the end lol very good! p.s. not that packaging and scent don't matter. but agree with what another person said washability, styling, ease of application should be worth 2 pts and packaging, price, scent should be worth 1pt. Thanks Lance. Absolutely! The points are really just a way of categorising. I always give my own verdict in the end.
Lance Seaman don't use oil based pomades if you care about washability.
Scent kinda matters, just smell murray's black beeswax it horrible but it's a good pomade/wax
Great video as usual Robin👍🏻I have tried the red Reuzel before and ordering the pink one now! Can't wait to try it.
I LOVE it.
What a huge difference in quality from Robin's videos compared to the non edited, cheap looking videos of The Pomp... Robin has GREAT quality videos, editing, music and all that. Keep it up Robin
Love that green top at 2:56 Robin, lovely colour!
Cheers! I never wear green really.
The packaging I like a bit better because the're are no stickers on the tin😉 great video 👍🏽
Hey, still waiting for that review on Reuzel line :). Currently using the Matte Clay Pomade but not a big fan of the outcome, I like more the oil based products so I'll give a try to their pink pomade. Helpful video ;)
Loving the tache Robin! pay no attention to the naysayers! Do you man! Also great video!
FINALLY GOON GREASE!
So handsome and thank you for this ordered some reuzel and looking forward to trying it, great tips thank you
I believe it's more like "RÖZL"
Loud and clear.
Great videos well done. Have you done a review on odouds water based? It's what I currently use and would be interested to see how it compares to other products you have reviewed. Looking to try other unorthodox pomades
You are amazinggg bruhhh... Love the content 🙌🏼

Anyway, nice vid as always!
please make reuzel pink vs lockhart's heavy, because the hold and shine are more comparable.
Your pronouncement of ‘’Reuzel’’ is very good and accurate.
Pronunciation not pronouncement
Dutchie here. At 1.34 the second way you pronounce it is correct. Well done!!
Cheers!
Robin, could you pleaaaaaaase do a top 3 bomber jackets video, like you did with leather jackets? That'd be amazing!
Could be a good one.
I've beeen looking for a pomade for a while so i loved this brand battle.. ordered the Reuzel.
hope you can do some skin care brand battles maybe Kiehl's Vs Clinique
Absolutely. Would love to.
Reuzel green is the best one! Would've liked to see that one instead. Good vid though. 👌
Thank you
id like to see a lockharts heavy hold vs that pomade
You have an interesting way of styling your hair... combing it back to front in the "wrong" direction and applying product in the same way.
I have to try this tomorrow morning because it looks very easy and seems to achieve a good hight. Was your hair dry or damp and how many scoops did you use?
I need a strong hold pomade that doesnt sweat out in summer and doesnt wash away in the rain. Which is best?
You are the cutest and most adorable fashion blogger on RUclips :)
thanks Robin really appreciate it dude😀
You're very welcome
Very helpful. Thank you!
Hey Robin! great brand battle as usual. Just wondering if you could do a brand battle between Morris Motley's Treatment Styling Balm and Kevin Murphy's Night Rider/Rough Rider. Have a wonderful day!
Could be a good battle. Taking a look at other ones.
Oh my god... i ve been waiting this so much💖💖
Hope you liked it.
Robin James hi sir... yess i really do😍
Thanks! Really interesting brand battle
Thanks Kyle!
To pronounce Reuzel properly, take the vowel sound from words like: Bird, first or burn. Hope it helps!
Hey, Robin! Really enjoy the Brand Battle series, you do a great job. I'm 17 and I've recently started using more pomade, specifically the cool grease fiber. I've been seeing about 5-10 hairs fall out as I comb my hair in place. Is this normal?
absolutely normal
You should do a brand battle on dominate salon series rok waxx vs some kind of wax or...
moosehead grubby putty vs a clay or putty of some kind
Waiting for your video about the complete Reuse lineup ;)
hello robin james, which shampoo & conditioner is better for hair style please
thanks
It's not fair to give one point to smell same as one point for actual purpose of pomade. You've got to make it more basketball rule, styling should be three pointer ;) also it really matter much how product acts few hours later. Some dry out your hair and some make it oily and give totally different look which is good to know. If you get time to wait for products to dry out try it.
Cheers. All good suggestions. Points really are just to provide structure.
Can I use a hair spray with a blue Reuzel to make the hold stronger?
Can you try the green reuzel? And the differences between the pink and what's your favorite? Thanks
hi buddy, I think you were wrong with the price of reuzel, it is actually $17' not $10', the $10' is for the 1,2 Oz
Renjiro Origami 4 Oz of reuzel is 9-14 dollars on Amazon (depending on the color)
Renjiro Origami your head in wrong stopid
the reuzel pomade is really amazing i love it
True, but i think goon grease is goated. I also like the blue reuzel
Hey Robin, have you ever thought about reviewing any Biotherm products?
a true heavy pomade should be thick reuzel pink is that if is to hard to put in which is not man up.
would you consider maybe doing a bona fide vs lockharts fire and brimstone?
Robin, which products are you (still) using in the Nioxin line?
I've been trying to DIY a matte clay waterbased pomade. What brand has the best kind?
Great video . One of your tops.
Ah, this is good!
Hi, I hope you're alright. Does the Reuzel pomade have alcohol? In fact, do all the oil based pomades have alcohol?
Have a nice day.
How do you wash out Goon grease? Seems impossible, what shampoo do you use?
With oil based pomades, does it affect your skin at all? I get an oily forehead which has always put me off using pomades in case it runs or anything like that, keep up the good work dude!
Tom Lander well use pomades when you know that you ain't gonna do fisical activity, try the DAX. products , they like 5 to 7 euros and they are very good , or try the water base pomades
Hey Tom, I spoke about it a bit in this video: ruclips.net/video/ruHTr5O105g/видео.html
Knew it was coming , still surprised me when I saw it in my recommended haha.
This is good news!
Very much so
What's the best one for thick wavy hair?
From someone who has used both can I just say this review is just one persons opinion. I've used numerous pomades including reuzel green and reuzel pink and lockharts goon grease is way better then both of them. Please don't take my word for it. Try them for yourself and you'll never use reuzel again.
Review Rocky Mountain pomade because it’s always in ads!
Great vid mate
Thanks!
FINALYYYYY reuzel is here
Boom!
you should do reuzel clay matte pomade vs o'douds/john wayne collab matte clay pomade
Robin, do you think the Nixon Scalp Treatment would work by itself? I'm really turned off by the sulphates in the shampoo
Not sure it would. I love Nioxin as the 3 part.
hey do you think you could compare dax high and tight awesome shine and murrays superior pomade? Thanks much. I love your videos by the way I watch them very frequently
sup PJ Watson, who knew that along with Infowars, you do hair styling on the side
What pomade would recommend for guys with thin hair?
And is this a product for thin hair
Honestly depends what you are going for if you want slickness nice sidepart sidepart pomp or slick back reuzel green is excellent. If you want a style with volume to hold up the thin hair with brute force the reuzel pink will do the job perfectly I myself have thin hair so I feel the struggle. But I find with thin hair oil based pomades hold the hair together much nicer than waterbased pomades hope that helps
