Almost 3 years later and there are only 3 phones in existence with a 4k display, all made by Sony. Z5 Premium, XZ Premium and XZ2 Premium. First 2 were 5.5" and the most recent is 5.8".

Well your saying you can't really see a difference. I can. The z5 is much brighter and clearer than the 6p. Also root the Z5 and you may be able to force the phone in 4k all the time.
Now i'm not a sony fanboy, quite the opposite i might say, i've never bought anything sony in my life but i have to tell you, i played with a z5 today and the display was something to talk about(awesome in any way shape or form). I know the human eye isn't supposed to tell a difference above maybe 300ppi but mine did, and i'm not just saying this, you really have to see it to believe it...
Great review Marques, as always. Sony makes great quality cameras, and audio tech. The 4K screen also has legs especially for DSLR fans - good on Sony for being first. As Samsung has let down many Galaxy Note customers in recent years, I would like to see Sony deliver in that area. A chat with Wacom could make it straight forward. The remaining item to deliver is removeable battery - as LG has done with the G5. Like many, I am already a keen Sony customer. I'm stuck on my Galaxy Note 4 and will not downgrade to a Note 5 or 7 (glued-in limited-life battery). Sony, we need you. We need a Sony Experia XN Note :). I'll buy it as will many seekers of high-end capability. Go 4K, 6GB Ram, proper Wacom digitizer, 256GB UFS storage, removable batteries, USB-C etc. Sony will absolutely win the Premium smartphone game. At any price. That will ripple down to sales of other models as well.
I bought an LG V20. Excellent device. Best for hi-fi music. Removeable battery is perfect. 4GB, 64GB, and I also use a 128GB MicroSD card. Just needs proper digitiser and pen.

The last phone I noticed a difference with was my Note 2. And that had a resolution of like 720p. Everything since then has been a useless higher resolution with a waste of CPU cycles and battery life.

Tech Guy Whatever it is you think you're noticing, it's not the resolution. You could be noticing a difference in saturation, color gamut, contrast ratio and stuff like that and interpreting it as sharper, but the human eye can't tell the difference on a 5 inch display.

I don't care about the functionality it supports, It makes the phone really good looking and when u swipe right and left it's just really nice. I never used an SD card before they're slow anyways compared to internal memory. Just use cloud storage if u need more its 2015 you know!

Mimoun Gaid smartphones only have an average of 1 day battery life. It depends of how you use it. Sony is pretty good with their battery because of their stamina modes, especially ultra stamina. Obviously, you're spoiled. Plus the nokia 3310 is a keypad phone with 1 week battery life or more.

Disappointed how difficult it is to get the newest Sony phone for Verizon...... Tech Guy Whatever it is you think you're noticing, it's not the resolution. You could be noticing a difference in saturation, color gamut, contrast ratio and stuff like that and interpreting it as sharper, but the human eye can't tell the difference on a 5 inch display.

iGwlbirdy S4 has 441 ppi pixel density and that was 3 years ago, and OK 2K on 5+ display is really nice. But it would be nice if my phone could recharge on a sun light...think about it.
Of course that'd be nice, but solar panel would make a phone expensive as fuck.

I don't care about the functionality it supports, It makes the phone really good looking and when u swipe right and left it's just really nice. I never used an SD card before they're slow anyways compared to internal memory. Just use cloud storage if u need more its 2015 you know!
