I have great memories of Yelapa. I took a vacation on my own to an all inclusive in Puerta Vallarta about 10 years ago. After a week I got restless. I took a day trip to Yelapa and ended up staying a week. I asked a bartender of one of the restaurants on the beach for a place to stay. for 50 a night I had a fantastic Casa at the end of the Beach with a view to die for and everything I needed. I found that the tourists take the boat home at around 5:00 and the place comes alive with a really cool vibe. Lots of people living off the grid. There used to be a pie lady that would have a tray of Coconut, Banana Cream and Chocolate pies that were the best pies I ever had. When I returned to Puerta Vallarta I used a slice of pie for cab fare. Loved your Vlog, made me miss Yelapa.
climb towards the second waterfalls they still sale the best pies on that short hike. I was just there days ago and I petted that same black/white bull dog.
We did an excursion for the day at Yelapa while we were staying in Nuevo Vallarta about 8 years ago. We did a little snorkeling, had a walk through the local homes, visited the 2nd waterfalls you guys went to, did horsebackriding and had a nice late lunch. We had a great time. When we got back to our hotel my husband noticed a new mole on his butt cheek while he was taking a shower. The following morning he noticed the mole moved so he took a closer look and realized it was a tick! He inspected his whole body and found 3 more! Luckily I didn't see any on me. We figured he probably got it from the horse he was riding because he was wearing shorts and I didn't get any because I had pants on. One of those memories we had from that place. Lol!
This videos of Puerto Vallarta, brought so much memories for me and my husband. We used to spend our anniversary there for the past 20 yrs, but with Covid-19 we have skip going there since the pandemic. Thank you Chris and Carol!❤️
It is paradise. It's been 40 years since I first visited. Love to snorkel here too. It has grown considerably. Back then mostly backpackers with tents and just a few places for drinks and food. So nice!
I really enjoyed yelapa. There was so much nature it was unbelievable. The wild parrots flying everyday was something i loved as well as the waterfall hikes.
We had three great vacations with our kids at Garcia Rentals in Yelapa (Spring Break 2016, Christmas 2016 and 2017). Garcia's is the rickety mustard coloured apartment building on the main beach (visible in your video). The apartments were open to the sea - I loved sleeping to the sound of the waves (and the winter solstice tides were intense). During the day, we had lots of fun watching the fishing and tour boats come and go. The people of Yelapa, especially the staff at Garcia's, were amazing! But by our third trip, we got tired of all the high season day trippers parading through town. So we moved on to the Oaxaca Coast where people can spread out over many beaches and bays (and the water is warmer). It is really nice to get a good look at Yelapa again. Thank you!
Amazing videos! Love how you bring us along the journey with helpful commentary, drone perspectives, and even simple practical travel tips like tuna sandwiches. Adventure well!!! 🌍
you guys are a great inspiration for my wife and I. We love to travel and love to document everything. We are new to the RUclips content making, but everyone starts from somewhere. THANKS FOR THE GREAT VIDS!
Your videos are so relaxing I get lost and I find myself walking along with you! Great drone shots, water is stunning! Looking forward to your stay & videos coming up! ~Cara 😊
It was a paradise when I first visited for a month in 1967 and still nice when I lived there in the 90's, but the road and electricity took away a lot of the original charm. Glad to have enjoyed it back in the day.
Like you my wife and I love yelapa, in this video you said this might be the coolest place to stay, even has its own staircase, thats where we stay....very good people just like the rest of the folks in Yelapa. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face, adios
I went to Yelapa when I used to vacation in Puerto Vallarta like 14 years ago and it's absolutely beautiful. You can go up the mountain with horses the the waterfall. The views going up are amazing! I love Puerto Vallarta it's tropical and beautiful! I went right after rainy season ends and it was the greenest green I've ever seen soo many palm trees and lush rain forests.
Another top videos guys, the place looks beautiful, and you introduce it so well with your commentary and amazing shots , especially those gorgeous shots of the coast!
ah YELAPA . I was going there before you were born. At that time none of those buildings were there. There wasn't a dock. The boat would anchor in the bay and you would have to swim to the beach. But there weren't any restaurants or hotels. We had to sleep on the beach with nothing but our towels to keep us warm. They would fry a big fish on the beach and then charge us a few dollars for a plate of fish and a warm beer. Those were the days! PUERTO VALLARTA was a little fishing village back then. It was nice, real nice.
Wow Yelapa is beautiful! It reminds me of Jamaica and other mountain & beach coasts in the Caribbean. Looking forward to seeing everything you guys do in this area. Have fun as always! 😁
If you guys ever go back I’d recommend going after the rainy season when it’s all lush and green! Still beautiful during the dry season but the difference is night and day. Loving the videos! 👍
@@alexruiz2160 That’s why I said after the rainy season. Which is after the month of October. November through mid February are good times to go because everything is green and lush before the dry season hits.
@@alexruiz2160 It is actually. When it rains it’s usually for like 1-2 hours. It tends to rain once or twice a day when it does. Never does it rain all day. It is heavy rain but it actually cools everything off when it’s really hot so it’s kinda nice.
You mentioned that you can only get to Yelapa by boat but there is also a great hike in from Boca de Tomatlan. Take the bus from Peuto to Boca and enjoy that little town then follow the beach to the south for a longish fun hike into Yelapa. Get the boat back when you are ready to go or return on the trail.
The work you must put into editing your videos must be exhausting, but the results are fantastic. Just one of your faithful followers from Manchester UK.
Yelapa is definitely worth the visit if you have time during your PV trip. ... If you are looking for a little adventure, then definitely take the bus to Boca de Tomatlan and a water taxi to Yelapa. Make sure you take bug spray if you plan on hiking to the waterfall.
Yelapa is so pretty. Can't believe I have been to Vallarta and never even knew about this place! Thank you for taking us along! Oh and Carol your hair is just gorgeous ☺️
Next time you have to eat at Los Abuelos. It's amazing and not very expensive. The restaurants in town are more economical than the one's right on the beach.
Hiya, another beautiful place. Always great content. Beautiful drone shots. I love watching your adventures. Beautiful. Those birds were huge. At least they clean up the beach. Lol. Thank you for sharing. Have a great weekend. :D
Glad you still enjoy the videos! We have been traveling through very remote areas with barely any internet the last few weeks so haven’t even been able to keep up with comments at all. Many incredible videos coming up from where we have been these last weeks though 😁
@@JumpingPlaces Always love your travels. Sometimes it’s good to have no internet. Frustrating maybe. But good to have time out. You share so much. I always look forward to your next video. Safe travels.
Hey there, there is no bus or highway near this place. There is another place closer to puerto vallarta that looks a bit similar that you can get a bus to though
@@JumpingPlaces so there is no dirt road from the highway? If not, we might have been in Boca de Tomatlan. It has been years since we did that. It was definitely a small beach town south of PV. Thanks for the reply!
Always enjoy watch your videos! Very relaxing and beautiful to watch. Could you do a video tutorial on your GoPro settings? Your footage is always so clear and vibrant!
