      The Majestic of Gaia forsure. My favorite song by these boys. Great lyrics too. Not grammatically correct all the time, but a real ego crushing message- as is a lot of their works.

      @@StormTroopaKoopa look up the lyrics to The Great Reality. The message there is SO much deeper and more profound than ego-death, and that's saying something.

    I didn't see anyone mention it yet but its worth noting that Persefone is from Andorra. Which doesn't necessarily come into play as much into the sound of this song as it does songs like The Majestic of Gaia. These guys are a unique and fantastic blend of progressive, melodic and technical death metal. This won't be the last you hear of them on this channel.

    first solo is also performed by Paul Masvidal (Cynic, Death, Aeon Spoke), you can clearly hear his style. I love that man.

    Great reaction! And yes Vin they're Progressive Death Metal more than just Melodic Death. Persefone are powerful, beautiful, energetic and one of the bands what trascend the extreme music with great music, good lyrics and good intentions like Ne Obliviscaris in fact, they have a collaboration with Tim from NeO called "In Lak'ech". They have a lot of songs that you can react, please bring more Persefone!.

    I normally just come here for the Thrice reactions, but damn, I'm glad I clicked on this. What a really good sound. It reminded me of Between the Buried and Me, but just slightly. It was so unique in it's own right.

    • @ayotrippin
      @ayotrippin 4 года назад +2

      I clicked it too, which I usually don't on songs/bands I don't recognize, but I wanted to hear this just for the song title. Very glad I did! Halfway through the song, I was searching them up on Spotify lol. Glad you're enjoying the Thrice reactions, though! :P

      @@ayotrippin I have only recently got into Thrice, through the advice and direction of a really good friend of mine. And I have YET to be disappointed....their old stuff has so much energy and character...and their newer work has all the wisdom and patience as getting older in life dictates. They are a true journey, and masters of their craft, every single one of em. Kensrue though man...he's one of those frontmen from a different level and dimension....all you can do is go for the ride and hope to keep up....keep yourself together till the end of the track. fuckin amazing.

      @@BricktowneMedia For sure, brother. I caught them way back when they released Vheissu. I'm a middle era kind of guy, Vheissu up to Major/Minor are my favorites, but the older and newer stuff is still a cut above the most music in my opinion.

    Persefone is absolutely Progressive. Its honestly hard to nail their sound down to a genre because their all elements from so many genres, in this song alone for example.
    I usually explain the band as "Gaia Metal"
    The more you read into their lyrics and song structure, the more this will make sense

    We must stop categorizing metal into a 100 genres....or including songs that are clearly not metal!!
    It cheapens the music, and takes away from the origins of heavy metal!...tired of it!
    Playing fast and loud....don’t make it metal!
    Modern Thrash - needs to be its own genre...it’s more hardcore / punk...than metal!
    Prog metal - needs to go under the “Progressive” umbrella....it’s more prog than metal!
    Melodic Metal - must fall under its own labelling!!
