This whole album "Aathma" is just a masterpiece from start to finish. Highly underrated band that needs alot more appreciation and recognition out there.
One of their best songs, personally my favorite from Aathma. And yes Andorra it's a mysthical country, and you can notice it in their lyrics, talking about the life and death from a point of view more spiritually. Great reaction, another song that you can react is "Returning to the Source", "Majestic of Gaia", "Prison Skin", or any song they really have amazing songs only!
Majestic of Gaia is my fav song from Persefone
Oh god pls... totally agree with Returning to the Source
I am so psyched that y'all are into Persefone. I absolutely love it.
Glad Vin is appreciating so many different genres now, back then everything sounded like Metallica to him XD
Highly recommend The Majestic of Gaia, their best song imo
so is vin a prog guy now?? better late than never mate.
Persefone - Inner Fullness.
Ahh Vin...you've come such a long way from what you were before...even giving the title of your song of the year to a melo prog death metal song. Truth be told, I've been eyeing on this band for years now. They are on my music library, for sure.
I added theses guys to my Spotify rotation after your first reaction, they are friggin solliidd. I love it!!
THese guys are phenomenal
Thanks for video. My fav song off Aathma which is pretty amazing. I'm not sure they will ever top their previous album Spiritual Migration. Start to finish it is perfection, and my fav album of all time.
Complexity with 😱 nice
this band is sick live ..saw them 1.5 year ago
This song fucking rips. Glad to see it shared here.
Actually, "rising above the universe" is literally attaining enlightenment. not being a part of the universal construct of life and death and the endless cycle. basically not being a slave to your body and your desires and actions. its a lot deeper than you'd know
Yeah! Persefone is really good stuff! Almost as diverse as BtBaM 😁
BtBaM? Enlighten me

@@Bucketbothead007 Did they ever make a bad song? (Or even a half-bad?) 😊
@@progperljungman8218 Not sure, I haven't listened to all of their songs yet. :) They do have a lot of cool songs though & they're great musicians. Blake Richardson & Dan Briggs are one hell of a rhythm section.
Kreator - Enemy of god
BTW, on the post-song discussion where you guys brought up "if you were in a boat with your family and it was sinking"... the situational ethics questions... around the 19:00 or 20:00 mark, TBH, nobody knows what they would do in that situation or how they would behave until they are in it. Everyone hopes they do the "right" thing, but it is one of those impossible situations where if you save one, the others are likely to die. I think they had a phrase in "Saving Private Ryan" for it... FUBAR.
Vin and Sori I watched your reaction to Persefone endless is timeless and since you guys liked that one i hope you check out the majestic of gaia. I promise you will love it.
This rox.
SEPTICFLESH Please!
Virtues of the Beast
Dogma of Prometheus (official live video) Infernus Sinfonica MMXIX
God bless man, song o the year for me was Prison Skin from them :)
If you already love this you should check out "The Majestic of Gaja" by them as well.
Extreme Underground Vin! Not Epic Underground. This song actually came from an xpick (where one of our alliance members, chosen at random, curates a playlist that we vote on). I'll get the person's name to you. Fantastic song. And you guys had just done Persefone so we were a little worried about what to do in that case.
Highly recommend Evergrey - When the walls go down
Do a complete listen of the Shin-Ken album. It is a total concept album based on Japanese mythology. It's excellent all around and it tells an intertwined story.
Please do inner fullness or majestic of gaia.
Are there any Ulcerate, Gorguts, Artificial Brain, Ad Nauseam fans?
@Bitterkind I think Vin and Sori should react to these bands.
@Ely Gallego Yeah, majestic album.
So bad ass 🎶🎶🎶sick
Persefone plays a Star Wars medley live
Bruh why no lyrics in description
Welcome back to progressive death metal, the superior music genre. You want something super underground that just came out try The Deviant - Wallow
Going to have to check out more of these guys. This was my first listen to them. Sounds like Opeth with attitude. Some song recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Death Before Dishonour is the song that got me into them, then I listened to the whole album (Which is called Shin-Ken, a concept album based on Miyamoto Musashi) and I was almost obsessed. Then came their next album Spiritual Migration and the whole thing was a blast out of this world. Any song from that album will blow your mind. :)
@@sebyperion sweet
@@odell4625 I'll add Rage Stained Blade, Kusanagi & Purity from Shin-Ken.
The entire Aathma album. Had Ayreon not released The Source, it would have been the undisputed album of 2017. It's also their best album for beginners. And then I would suggest Truth Inside the Shades (specially the title track, and in the 2004 version. The 2020 rerecording is good, but is missing something imo) and then head on with Core, Shin-Ken and Spiritual Migration (the best for last)
Opeth - Godhead's Lament
Probably already posted below, but this was an EXTREME UNDERGROUND (XU) pick... not an Epic Underground (EU). How long have we had these alliances, lol?
The "American bodied" thing reminds me of multiple exchanges I've had before where I've explicitly stated that despite being born, raised, and residing in America I don't actually feel like an American and think of America as a bad thing. Everyone thinks I'm nuts but I stand by it. Being an American is a shameful thing to claim.
So when are you gonna check out Pain of Salvation album - Panther? some new sound there but the lyrics is yeah Daniel quality as always. Try the first song of the album Accelerator
Falling in Reverse - The Drug In Me Is Reimagined
Holy time signatures Batman!
I wonder why you did not react to Lorna Shore - Immortal yet ...
React to Angra - Carolina IV
Baadasssss! \,,/_(-,-)_\,,/ Told ya this was a cool song. Trust in the Bucket! LOL
I just can't get past the Cookie Monster vocals... I prefer singers who actually sing;
Lost Horizon "Highlander (the one)".
Daniel Heiman is one of the greatest vocalists heavy metal has ever known. 🎤
Yes he is and they should definitely react to Highlander the one, perfect warrior or lost in the depths of me
@@Shun101010 Have you heard Daniel's new band "Dimhav" the album "The Boreal Flame" ? Just came out last year. Heiman is in his early 50's, and he's sounding better than ever... still has those amazing highs and falsettos. Check it out.
Regards
@@scottdunn2178 Cool thanks. I will check it out. I followed a couple of his bands after lost horizon but I haven't heard this one yet.
@@scottdunn2178 Sworn in the Metal Wind, World Through My Fateless Eyes, Welcome Back, The Kingdom of My Will & Think Not Forever.
I hate to be that guy..but America is not a country it's a continent dude.
It's a neverending show!
Am I the only one that gets a Meshugga meets Mastodon vibe from these guys?
If you haven't already check out Anciients from Canada, they're like a mix of Opeth & Mastodon. Heart of Oak & Voice of the Void are both really good.
@@Bucketbothead007 Will do. Thanks for the recommendation.
persefone means ass telephone in finnish language
