Instant coffee can be used as a food safe stain. Take 1/2 a cup and add boiling water a tablespoon at a time until it has a thick syrup like consistency.
1/2 cup of coffee?
@@katysprinkles3848 instant coffee. You add the minimum amount of water to dissolve the coffee and create a thick "stain".
That sounds safer. Great idea.
Chris Rasmussen I wonder if tea could stain as well?? Hey what about beets for a different color stain?? Just throwing ideas out there.👍👍😜
@@yvettegomez4588 oh my goodness i love that..beets are great idea. Im going to try that one today
When I'm discouraged, I feel like Kathryn is the kind of person who would truly want me to succeed, so I come to her videos.
She is the best💕💕💕 God Bless you Kathryn
The first time I heard her say "you are enough" I cried. I was so down at the moment and it felt she was speaking just to me.
Agree!
I love her !
I know she is Superb...when I 1st heard her say You Are Enough...I took me from a down to one of the biggest highs...I say it everyday to my daughters.
Charcuterie boards are just adult lunchables with better cheese and meat. And I’m here for it. Lol
Yes!! Omg I love this!
YESSSS, i love this
Totally inspired my insta post! 🤗
😆 true
My grandson asks for lunch trays! He’s so gonna love it when he learns that they’re adult “lunchables.”
I bought my daughter a hand crafted long one for my daughter for Christmas.
Not sure why, but you saying “you are enough” had me tearing up at the end ... sure do love you and your budget friendly content
Ok, honestly, same here. It's so comforting to hear!
I don't know about you guys but Kathryn can make or turn a dollar item to look high end. Another amazing idea. Personalize and thoughtful.
I recently discovered Kathryn's page here thru Kelly Barlow Creations, but another crafter on youtube who can also turn dollar tree items into high end is Heidi Sonboul. I highly recommend you check her out as well. I'm so glad I have added "Do It On A Dime" to my favorite list of crafters I subscribe to.
Even though I don’t have time to craft, I love watching Katherine. Her energy and creativity are unparalleled. Merry Christmas 🎄 God bless you! 💜💜
Same but with cleaning and organizing. I dream of being like her but the reality is I don't clean or organize very well. But she is fun to watch and I have gained tips over the years.
I am not “crafty” at all but she makes it look so easy!! And I love that everything is affordable 😬
agreed! I've NEVER made one of her DIYs and haven't used any of her tips. However, I love her vibe and she makes me happy every time I watch her. :)
Such a great idea, who doesn't love a great charcuterie board?! ❤
I AM SO IMPRESSED!!! That is SO creative! I asked for a serving board for Christmas but maybe I’ll just make my own!
This came exactly when I needed it! My son want a a charcuterie board for his wedding reception and I can make this into a keepsake wedding gift!!!! Thanks So Much for all your inspiration!!!
Hi
How are you doing?
Kathryn, you are not only “enough”, you are fantastic!
Owen saying “charcuterie” 🥰
What a wonderful family, thank you for your uplifting personality and fabulous videos!
“And no I’m not sponsored”
Me: well you should be! 😄
Right! Lol! She’s the best!
I was thinking the same!!😄
I love it! I have a brother and sister in law that have WAY more money than I do, and I'm always struggling to find something cool to give them. This is quick, easy, affordable and beautiful!!
If it's within your budget, experiences are great gifts: a family zoo pass, or a Fandango special event movie (I like opera and it's not available in my city, also, a Fandango ticket is WAY cheaper than an opera ticket.) Other ideas: ticket to a car show, sporting event (even local school teams; whatever they like to do.
Wow, these ideas are so affordable and simple.. Thank you for sharing!!
Merry Christmas love this project.
The boys are really growing and so handsome, you are the best mom ever.amen.
You always have the greatest ideas and especially on a budget which is even better ♥️ Thanks for sharing 🥰☺️
A couple other things that I love to do is the homemade gift mason jar of hot cocoa mix and marshmallows in it tied with a bow. The other thing that people love and are expensive if you buy in the store, but relatively cheap if you make it yourself---a fruit bowl wrapped in saran wrap with a big bow.
Love your budget friendly projects and your positive, airy personality! Such a joy to watch your videos ✨
These r so beautiful..love how u did these..so simple and inexpensive..beautifully made..tyfs♡
Wow, I didn't realize how inexpensive the round boards were at home improvement stores! This would make such a great gift!
Hi Kim
How are you doing? 🎁🎄
I just adore you!! You are so kind and comforting to watch.
Watched your video this morning and ran straight to Home Depot to get the supplies! Bought some chalkboard paint at the Dollar Tree as well! Can’t wait to make this as a gift for my mom and dad! Thanks for the idea!
I love your charcuterie board. I usually do it on oversized paddle shaped cutting boards but I like the idea of the lazy Suzanne style! Tfs! Hugs-Josie 🤗❤
LifeAt50&Beyond Susan!
I LOVE the curbside pick up friendly ideas! (I haven't been in a store since March 13th... I miss the Dollar Tree!)
Great gift ideas. Thanks for sharing.
You have such a lovely spirit! Thank you for shining your light!
Can’t wait to make these with my kids for Christmas gifts
I just saw this video recently (after Christmas) and decided I want to make it for my grown kids Christmas gifts for next year.
My favorite part of this video was your “love thy neighbor” sweatshirt. Great sentiment for these times.
Excellent idea! You have a wonderful bright and cheery spirit about you!!
My family and I love you, and love all your craft, you are so creative.. God bless you and your lovely family 🙏🥰
Ques: do you put the mineral oil onto the stained wood before you put on the chalk board paint, or after? I guess my question is will the chalk board paint adhere to the oiled wood?
Brilliant! And so easy-definitely making this one!
Love that these are high quality and a good price!! Turned out SO cute!!
This is such an awesome idea and VERY affordable! Thanks for sharing.
I needed an idea for a secret Santa gift!! This may be perfect!
Kathryn, I loved seeing you on GMA again the other day! I also love the serving board ideas! I have been looking for information on food safe finishes, and of course, you provided it!
Great ideas and great budget pricing. thanks.
I really like the dark one and the tip with vinegar and steel wool! So pretty!
You are more than enough! Thank you so much for this fabulous video! Great gift ideas or even mass producing like you said 😍
We are not enough on our own...that is why we need Jesus!!
The boards are beautiful!
I absolutely love this. This will be such a quick and beautiful diy gift for Christmas.
You always brighten up my day with your spiritual quote to me thank you 😊 🙏🏼
Well Katherine another well done. I don’t do any diy but I love whatever you do. Thank you dear xxxx Lenna uk
The bestest part of this entire video, your little man getting called, "Boujee" 😂😂😂
Such a cutie! Okay the board is an excellent idea too, but that kiddo!!
This is a FANTASTIC idea, and can be slightly modified for a variety of uses.
Thank you for sharing!
Kathryn you bring so much joy to so many people. I LOVE how you have not sold out to all the people pressuring you to do Ad's and promos of all their items. Even though you have 1.6 M subscribers I still feel you are truly so relatable & sincere. You have such a servants heart & love your wonderful sweet family. Happy New Year my friend from S.E. TN.
Seriously you are the best, I even have my teenage daughters hooked on watching your videos. Thank you so much for sharing all of you great ideas.
My 11yo gets so sad if I watch without her...and I just did...🤭🤫😁
You: and I'm totally not sponsored.
Me: well, you should be!
Honestly, those boards would make such cute gift ideas! Love it!
Wow! What beautiful projects I want to make them for gifts thanks Tara
Question, do you have to put a special coating over the stenciled area? Or do you just not serve food over that area.
Wondering the same thing lol
You can't serve food on it because of the wood stain
@@amara560 It isn't commercial wood stain. It's steel wool and distilled vinegar and it is sealed with mineral oil.
@@farriberri Ooh good catch. That went over my head.
@@amara560 Anytime!!
GET OUT..Jesus came through again. I was literally thinking about this like Monday!! I didn’t know what is was called but I knew what I wanted. LOL thank you!! I absolutely LOVE all your DIY videos.
I’m so glad it was helpful!! Thank you for being here!
Cute response ❤
Excellent ideas for a charcuterie board!
Love these, Kathryn!! Thank you for sharing these ideas with instructions!!
I love how easy you made the boards look. Did you seal the stencil after you painted it? What did you use?
Same question and also where did you get the stencil from :) .
The stencil came in a 10 pack from the craft store. I put it on after I painted it!
@@DoItOnaDime (I love your videos!!!) Is the paint you stenciled on food safe, or does it need to be covered with something?
Same question. Was this question answered? @@pamspratt4040
If you’re only using oil on the board, DO NOT PUT FRESH BERRIES DIRECTLY ON IT. It will stain, I’ve learned from experience lol
Brianna Hancock that's right!! Didn't think of that. Thanks for the heads up. I guess it better to put the berries in a cute bowl!! Or not on the board at all. Maybe a plastic charcuterie server instead. Same concept except plastic instead. Or ceramic.
Or a plastic rounder on this cute one.
Too late. I put raspberries on mine and now I have pink polka dots all over. This video gave me the idea to sand it down, add a lazy Susan thing to the bottom and seal with mineral oil.
@@danielacobb9175 yes, you totally can fix it that way. Mine is a cutting board of Purple Heart and maple, so it will be a little more difficult haha
Kathryn, you are absolutely killing it on Christmas content this year!!
You are so down to earth and creative. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. We are blessed.
I've been making charcuterie lunches for my kids and their friends are jealous every time. This tutorial was awesome btw you make it look so easy.
Extend your kindness and make enough so that you teach your kids to share.
@@jnalex100 they get in trouble for sharing lunch at school. I do make nice food when we invite them over for parties
Does the paint on the Merry Christmas board need to be sealed before putting food on it?
I don't think you would use the painted one to serve food that is outside of the package. Perhaps a plate of food and a drink, or something like that, just using it as a serving board. Same with the chalkboard paint one. If you notice, she didn't use those as charcuterie boards; she put wine and other containers on them.
I had the same question. Thanks for asking. I would say, based on the other answer, just put containers of food on that one. I love this idea and we entertain a lot so guess what my next project is going to be!!
You can seal with polycrylic; which is food safe when it cures. I didn't use mineral oil and sealed my stain with the poly. That was over a year ago.
@@kelleywillis3789 I would put the food on the area above the chalk board. Put the cheeses on upper part and put a little piece of Saran Wrap tightly over the chalk board once I wrote on it before serving the food; making sure the food did not spill over the board. Lots of options. I love it.
@@fussycoose How long does it take to cure with the polycrylic/polyurethane? I was thinking of doing the same. Thanks.
You are amazing to watch and so encouraging!!!! 🥰
Every time you say, "you are enough" it makes me get all teared up! You are a sweetheart!💖💖💖
You should have hidden the walnut stain better! You can see it on the table ;)
What? What do you mean...?
@@calledandkept536 you could see the walnut stain on the table when she said she was making a good safe stain in dark walnut.
I spotted that too. Little yellow can on the table . It would have been just fine to just say hey you can use walnut stain too . Now I am thinking that the diy made stain isn't really that great, it may be great but it makes one doubt.
Omgosh, I went back to see that too. Thanks for catching that. I read in another post that coffee is a great food safe stain!
I m quite early... Can I get a heart pls ❤by the way big fan ... Love ur diys... 💕
Thank you for sharing your amazing ideas!
Love these craft ideas!
Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family.
Thank you for your personality and this affordable wow!!! 😑🧡
My family and I have decided to only give DYI gifts and now I know what to make my niece. Love these
Our girl has gone total manufacturing here! A wood burning tool could also add a beautiful personalize touch. My fave charcuterie combos are green olives, salami, asian pear, and brie.
Cream cheese with sweet chili sauce on top is another amazing combo!!
Forget the fact that these ideas are awesome... YOU seriously make me smile from the inside out with your genuineness!
Beautiful charcuterie boards!
You are amazing and sweet
Thank you for the ideas
Great ideas and I love them all.
Very pretty idea. I must try.
So beautiful!!!! Wow really affordable
Kathryn, your ideas are amazing, thank you so much!
What a wonderful idea! And the DIY version is soooooooo much more affordable than store-bought servers.
My kids love the little salami and party assortment of crackers from Aldi. This is a sure way to pull my teens out of their bedrooms and around the table for some family time!
Even at 78 I enjoy your ideas. You are too cute for words.
You look great in that shade of blue! 🙂
Just love it, finally I can make my own. Thank you for sharing🎄♥️🎄♥️🎄♥️🎄♥️🎄♥️🎄
Merry Christmas, Kathryn & Charlie, Carson & Owen! May God bless you all. 🎄☃️❤️
This is hands down the best DIY gift I’ve ever seen. And actually easy & affordable. Thank you!!
I love your channel! It's my favorite. You are so down to earth!💞
I love this board! Awesome idea. I think I will make one for myself!
Wow!! Amazing gift ideas!!!!

Wow they are really neat. Thank you kindly.
Amazing ideas Kathryn! Thanks for always brightening my day!! Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family!!😊❤️🎄
Happy holidays I love your videos, I always get good ideas & much motivation. 🤩😍🥰
Doe anyone else get misty when she says you are enough? I feel like the only time I hear it is on her videos. So it always gets me teary eyed. It's nice to hear it too on those really tough days.
I absolutely love this idea!!! Such a great gift idea! Christmas, birthday, anniversary, etc. Thank you for sharing! ❤️
