    My daughter used to make this type of dining for just us we called it fancy lol. Truthfully it’s wonderful and not fancy no one seems to do all the work to make people feel like they are important guest and this is why we call it fancy it was our lil labor of love. You created a masterpiece and made all of us all out here in RUclips land feel important 😊

    This year I'm adding a cottage cheese dill dip/spread, with baby cucumbers, and really nice dense bread, so that they we can make mini cucumber sandwiches.

    • @altitudeiseverything3163
      @altitudeiseverything3163 7 месяцев назад +4

      It’s generally considered safe to leave deli meats out at room temperature for 2 hours. For longer events, you might consider putting out only 2/3 of the meat and refrigerating the rest until the board/table needs to be restocked.

    I will be making charcuterie boards and I need some advice about them. I will also be making butcher boards. I'm not interested in making run-of-the-mill discount stuff. I will be making heirloom quality, unique boards. Is there a way to privately email? Thanks, Sam.

    • @altitudeiseverything3163
      @altitudeiseverything3163 7 месяцев назад

      I doubt that you can make a charcuterie board that will stay fresh long enough to become an “heirloom.” 😉

    I cut my grapes into smaller bunches, else the first guests get them all. You can pile them up to get the height!

  • @altitudeiseverything3163
    @altitudeiseverything3163 7 месяцев назад +10

    One thought… Unless you know all your guests very well -well enough to know their dietary needs and restrictions- it’s thoughtful to include a gluten-free option in the cracker selections. Otherwise, great video! Thank you!

    • @mcm7444
      @mcm7444 Месяц назад +2

      Unfortunately for someone who is medically gluten free, the board is not safe once anything with gluten is included. So unless you stay completely away from gluten products the board is not Celiac safe. Just my two cents (I am not a celiac, but my family members are. )

    • @altitudeiseverything3163
      @altitudeiseverything3163 Месяц назад +1

      @ Thank you for pointing that out! I’ll remember that when I have people over that I don’t know very well. 👍 My adult kids and I are “medically” gluten-free (mostly), but that is because we’re allergic to wheat, rather than for celiac disease. Though we might tolerate some forms of gluten, often the easiest way to avoid wheat is to simply reach for “gluten-free” products. *Our* allergies are not so severe that cross-contamination is a worry, but I realize that even a minuscule amount of a problematic food can be dangerous for some. So thanks again for posting your comment. ❤️

    • @jeffcole1914
      @jeffcole1914 Месяц назад +2

      It’s getting worse now with allergies we literally have latex allergies in the family so even cooking the bbq out side and washing dishes with latex can set off a couple folks but what can we do except ask if any guests needs anything different 😅

    • @altitudeiseverything3163
      @altitudeiseverything3163 Месяц назад

      @@jeffcole1914 Latex is another allergy that can be very serious even with very small exposures, and another one that I have at a milder level (luckily!). We use *nitrile* gloves for household chores, the kind used in hospitals and physicians’ offices. They’re thin and not as durable as typical household rubber gloves, but they’re much less expensive (per pair) and come in boxes of 100, and in several sizes. Amazon has them.
      It’s good that you ask your guests about allergies. Too many people are dismissive and that is uncomfortable at best, and can actually be dangerous for some.

    Thank you for the video. It was very informative for first-timers. I'm a little frustrated just because the camera panned more to you than to where and how you were placing items. I'm a visual learner and a picture is worth a thousand words.

      The hostess spoke at a perfect timbre, and the tempo of the music matched her own energy. No issue there from my POV. However, if you find it annoying or distracting, you could very well have a condition known as misophonia that you might want to have checked out by an ENT.
