I was there and it was every bit as mad as it looked. Madness were last on just after 10pm after an afternoon of class. What a day. If I had a time machine for one day..........
epic! fantastic band as testified live in concert!
i was down the front at the start. it was so dangerous. Suggs kept telling the crowd to move back. Surprised no one was killed.

best band ever
I cant believe this was 25 years ago, brilliant day Ian Dury and the Blockheads Morrissey then the Nutty Boys, and it did not rain! good times!
Ian Dury and The Blockheads were also bloody awesome that day. Madness blew the trees out of the park - memorable day and night. I still see Norman Watt-Roy of the Blockheads in my City local most weeks. A lovely chap he is too - always willing to say hello.
is it my imagination or did John Lydon come onstage when Ian Dury played.
@@SantaDeerhound Which local is that?
Suggs’ rolled Rs are killing me. I love it.
Such a great band, I’ve been a massive fan since I first heard baggy trousers on the radio in 1993 and I never get tired of hearing they’ve music. Suggs is such a cool man
I was there!! absolutely excellent weekend, it was reported in the local media that all the "dancing" actually registered on the ricter scale. There were a few bands on before Madness, gallons drunk was one can't recall the other apart from Morrisey tried to do a couple of songs but got booed off stage. lol
Seeing this on vhs as a kid is what made me first want to pick up a music instrument
Magic dancing Chas, is the heart of madness
Thanks for uploading this...remember watching it on video when it first came out! Just brilliant. best band since The Beatles! Saw Madness at Scarborough in 2017 and they were brilliant...the music is timeless and will always be even in 1000 years time!
Happy Times.......Respect to Mick and Pippa. You know who you are. Love Kev....
OMG this is awesome! Good vibes come to me every time I listen these guys!
I was in the RAF and stationed at Stanmore Park. I was on night shift for both nights that Madness played and I couldn't get off work. I was absolutely devastated but bought the video of the concert as soon as it came out. Fantastic but made me even more gutted.
I was at this gig. The best Madstock to date and the one of 2009 which I also went to, Madstock 5, is a close second.
We honestly thought they were only getting back together for the weekend and this was our last chance to see them perform LOL. Having gone on the Sunday after Morrissey had been Kia-Ora cartoned off the stage the previous night (glass bottles not being allowed in the venue) I remember seeing a bunch of bequiffed spotty Moz lookalikes of varying heights, genders and weights gathered on a street corner outside the venue looking dejected that their idol wouldn't be appearing, only for an open topped car to scream round the corner full of locals singing "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now".
UKMikey love that!
Such a great concert!
Love it. Thank you. Had this on VHS so can't watch it anymore xx
its on dvd I've got both
Sublime ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was there & it was brilliant day got to see ian dury be for he passed away & was part of making poeple phone the police because tha though there was a 4.1 earthquake
I was there that day aged 18. holy shit was that 27 years ago. Was down the front at the start. It was so dangerous. Suggs telling everyone to move back. Surprised no one was killed in the crush.
Are back..fun time! Thank you
I was there on sunday ..extended Ian Dury and the Blockheads set due to the Morrisey incident on the saturday...most excelent bein a Blockhead fan ....It was dangerous when Madness were on..my feet were lifted from the ground and didnt touch down till after the gig..lost my mate in the crowdrush

I was there! What a day. Madness were great, sound registered as an earthquake on the riktor scale (honestly)and Morrisey was boo'ed off stage early thrown bottles and shouts of "cheer up you miserable bas***d". 8-)
