I remember watching this back in the day. I had a small black and white telly in my room and used to watch OGWT and the late night horror flicks on ITV. just as long as I didn't wake the old man up, then he would re-enact a horror flick in the house complete with real blood. 1979, I was 18. I liked Madness, despite riding a motorcycle and having long hair. I also remember watching Meatloaf Bat Out Of Hell, and sitting on the edge of my bed by the end, amazed that anything could be so theatrical. great times.
Pure class! The early Madness were streets ahead of all the other Ska bands. Reminds me of the cold, dark, violent streets of Wolverhampton in the late 70s early 80s where a musical 'tribe' would be lurking in the shadows around every street corner...
I’m 1979 when I was 17/18z. I was obsessed with madness the album posters you name in . Now in 2022 I’m still obsessed with them (in a good way) and I still have a crush on mike, Suggs and chas
Amazing to think that Chas wasnt actually an official member of the band at this point. Dave Robinson made sure that was rectified pretty soon after this clip.
Having a Grey day? Get this on full blast(headphones on,respect to the neighbours),get up and dance just like Chas- the Original Bez. Feeling better, I thought so.
@@3vimages471 Chas Smash brilliant 79 -80 proper unique then madness went pop kids loved them .Ska music originally first song on Top of the pops “The Prince “loved his dance straight away .
People won't get it I went along with my elder brothers and cousin to see the Specials in 1980 I was only 13 far too young Bloody terrifying it was like scene from Agincourt!!
Saw the Specials 30th Anniversary gig in Brighton and they had to stop a few times because of aggro. Everyone was well into their 40s by then so God knows what it must have been like originally
Man, that guy on the sax can wail. They're all good, but he's incredible right here.
Lee Thompson
Estoy de acuerdo
I ❤ this song, always have, always will. There's something deliciously sinister about it

Thank you so much for sharing this most essential piece of historic Madness.
I think this is the best version yet!
They were fit, non-stop dancing!
Love this rendition of the song.
I can't believe I've never seen this. I thought I'd seen all the early OGWT
Magnificent

Early Madness gig were dangerous places to be at. I was at one at Erics in Liverpool in 79 or 80 and it was murder.
