Have you ever met someone like Brandon Hurtado? What an inspiration right? Watch ruclips.net/video/_zThp8r6Qyw/видео.html my feature on East Texas BBQ next!
Brandon deserves all of the success that he’s earned. I first found out about Hurtado’s through the North Texas BBQ Addicts FB group that Brandon mentioned. From the first time I tried his BBQ I’ve been hooked.
Brandon has created and manifested every bit of success he's had the old-fashioned way, brick by brick, every drop of sweat equity and grind, and it's been that way since the start. No one can take that away from him, and there is no end in sight for him. He's constantly raising the bar for himself impossibly, and then figuring out how to clear it. It's admirable and is a testament to the fact that no business plan on the planet works without an equal amount of grind and grit.
Okay, I don't know how it's gets better than this Al! These are great people and these stories make my eyes sweat and my stomach growl at the same time! I can't wait until Brandon's cookbook is released!
2 show's in a row, dude!! How are you finding such beautiful people?? Its amazing how servants of God, shine so brightly! The whole family, and their friends and employees (and the meat supplier!) are just top notch. They are all examples to us all, of how we should all be. WoW! I particularly loved his parents, and his mother had me (a burly Scotsman) in tears the whole way through. Thank you once again Sir, please keep restoring my Faith in humanity, i had almost lost it. Nice work all.
What a story! Such a talented and humble man. Strong work ethic and serving God by serving people. Love it. Would love to try his food someday. It looks absolutely amazing.
Al, some time ago you realized that the only thing better than great BBQ is the people who make it. So you decided to go, not just behind the scenes, but deep into the soul of BBQ. You nailed it again with this poignant story of Hurtado BBQ. God bless Brandon and his family for pouring out their hearts about the highs and the lows of their BBQ journey. It just so happens that I am flying into DFW tomorrow, and as we say in the country, I'm gonna bust right up into Hurtado BBQ. Thank you!
Thanks Commish - it's so amazing that people like you appreciate this enough that I get to tell these stories. There are some really amazing people that make us this really amazing food. Have a safe trip to DFW - and enjoy that food!
Brandon and Tony are great and friendly people! Had the opportunity to meet them on Halloween as they were feeding tacos to trick or treaters in their neighborhood. What people are seeing on here is exactly who they are in person.
Wow! Absolutely incredible story once again! You really hit it out of the park with this one! Too bad all businesses do not take note that their employees as the number one priority. Best business model (and I have a BS in Management, an MBA with focus on Leadership, and a PhD in Organization and Managememt) I have ever seen implemented. This may be my favorite video of yours ever! But who knows, you just keep finding these gems!
Thanks Cliff - my background is also in business and that's partly why this set me on my heels so much. Really impressive to see it implemented so wholeheartedly. And for food to be priority #3 and still be so amazing - wow! Appreciate you watching and taking the time to share your kind words.
The Hurtados are heroes here in Arlington, TX. They also help out other restaurants/food trucks with collaborations or pop ups. Rather than trying to drive others out of business, they want the restaurant community to grow here. Which is needed because we have almost 400k people and growing in Arlington!
Brandon is a great guy. My wife and I used to walk by him after leaving the Tipsy Oak at midnight, running those pits in that empty lot. We would stop and just smell the brisket (he never gave us a sample! ) and just know we would be back that morning and sit under a pop-up cover to eat the best brisket in DFW!
I am not crying, just cutting up some onions! Probably your best video/interview to date. What a story and the bottom line is DO the Right Thing. Love your neighbor as yourself and good things will happen. Well deserved success to the Hurtado Family, God Bless
Branching out to Behind the Food TV was an awesome decision. All the beautiful people you've introduced us to makes my heart swell with happiness and gratitude for them. Brandon's story is amazing. His family has such integrity towards their employees. He's earned his success 🥰
I need a Big Mike Burger!!! Glad I ate Brisket there at Little Elm - had No Idea it flooded 😢 (live in Florida) Was there 8/28/2022 found my pics and they were kool enough to get a pic of me between the 2 stick burners 😊👍👍
What a great story and fantastic dude! Your making bbq look fantastic, not just because of great food, but the awesome people behind it. It’s the whole package of what makes bbq so special. Thanks!
Wow just wow these stories are amazing thank you for what you do @behindthefoodtv you deserve an award what a blessing you are the depth of these stories are so amazing and for you to do this means alot to all of us your work is flawless
Brandon, please come back to Collin county! My wife and I are from South Texas and live in Frisco (adjacent to Little Elm). Your story is so heartwarming. If you had cabrito birria on the menu that'd be the first thing I order. I can also pronounce esquites 😁
It’s 4am Sunday morning here (Sydney Australia) … another incredible insight into the heart & soul of people who truly want happiness in this world PS can you order me a signed copy of his cookbook ❤
Me encantó las ganas y perseverancia de el y su familia y que ponen las cosas en las manos de Dios,, God bless you Hurtado family!! Very enjoyable video!!
Amazing story! I grew up on the TX /Louisiana border and the combination of TX BBQ, Tex/Mex, and the Cajun/Creole influence on food just can’t be matched anywhere. Please hit some places in Louisiana too AL.
I love this channel. You are really showing the world the people that deserve to be recognized. The only thing, I would go broke wanting to try all of these places! keep it up!!!!
Howdy Al. I was happy to see this post. And I see you made the change of channels so I subscribed to the new chan n el also although I couldn't find the "alarm" notification? Anyway so about this video and the topic of people. In boys scouts we had a saying " make use of your available resources " And to that i would always add that people are your most important resource. It has ALWAYS surprised and disappointed me when I come across a supposed " leader" who thinks they are more important than the folks they lead. I remind them that without the people they are leaders at all. ALWAYS put your people first and they will take care of you. Anyway do didn't have a link as to how can order his cook book when it becomes available? Maybe he has a pre-order link to help him sell out his first printing. Al have a great day and happy Christmas 🎄 🎅
He’s right Adam. That’s what makes this such a unique place - gonna a visit and talk to any of the employees. You will find a very different attitude than in other food service businesses.

You got all of that right. And yes - it's worth a trip to taste that amazing food too.

You are most welcome. To be honest, this series truly is amazing, and I appreciate what you put into it. Once again, thank you.
Al, I don’t know how you find these people, but each story gets better and better! So nice to see how supportive people are! Great job Al!
What a hard-working, humble, faithful guy! The build to the end results in this video is amazing! I'm gonna go know and make a Big Mike 😊
Absolutely love Brandon and what he has built! The brisket biscuits on the Fort Worth breakfast menu is my favorite thing in bbq.

Man - Carlos you were there to see the origin story. I've only recently gotten to know Brandon and I'm lucky to know him now.
I am not crying, just cutting up some onions!

Sipping coffee on a Saturday morning watching BBQ while it is 14 degrees outside.

Book preordered on Amazon! Brandon's passion is amazing to witness. His team shows how obvious that passion carries through the entire staff!
OUTSTANDING AS USUAL! WOW!

Excellent piece. Great job.
Thanks Ken!
Man, makes me want fly out from Cali to visit his spot. Great story.
Sydney Australia, same ❤
It’s worth it. The Rangers and Cowboys play here in Arlington, and we get good concerts too (Linkin Park just played at the Rangers park).
I need some brisket Elote in my life 🔥
Heck yeah you do!
Once again, another fantastic video.
I love this Man's Story and I even joined the North Texas BBQ group on Facebook it looks awesome
It's really a great journey that he's been on. I'm in that group too - so I'll see you there!
Wow another great story Al.
Gives us all hope and inspiration!
Another great video Al. Curious what recipe you're taking home to recreate. Gotta be the birria right?
*I love these stories thank you Behind the Food TV!*
Al you put out the best bbq stories on the planet.
Another awesome story and very well done. Hurtado is just down the road from me (30 miles). I'll be making that trip.
I am so glad I’ve lived in Texas most of my life, the food is amazing, the people are better.
Yall dit it again!!! I'm not supposed to get teary-eyed with a bbq video!!!!!
Me either! But his mama made me cry 😢- and it was totally worth it!
Great video Al, as usual, you did not disappoint!

Really well done! Enjoyed watching this!
There’s something about the way Texas bbq restaurateurs aspire to be their best that I believe makes Texas bbq the best period.
This was next level!
Love history behind people and places
So happy for them GOD is good keep on doing what you do.
Mmm... Tasty!!
What brand/kind of cameras do you use for your videos?
Believe it or not we film on iPhones!
How you treat people… that’s all you need to hear.
his story is so similar to mine.
Yeah? Sounds like your story might be worth hearing!
One other things, street tacos are delicious. As is Tex-Mex.
All glory to GOD! We’d love you in Leon County brother!
I think people love Brandon wherever he goes. Thanks for watching Hector!
Working in food service sucks… the hours are bad , the pay is bad
not at our company. we're creating a place where people can and want to retire.
He’s right Adam. That’s what makes this such a unique place - gonna a visit and talk to any of the employees. You will find a very different attitude than in other food service businesses.
