I mean it is a big ass rock. For shits and giggles tho it could just be that sigma is actively using his gravity manipulation to keep that forward momentum so genji deflecting wouldn't change that

For the junkrat trap, someone should check if it can grab you if you step on it while the translocator is already in the air. (I guess the same would apply to Hinder.)
Hinder stops you from teleporting (interestingly, stuns AFTER throwing it also do)
@@prankster8241 Which I think is a bug? In the Q&A the devs said once it's in the air it should take priority and teleport you, but it doesn't work like that currently.
(I have not tested it) but am willing to assume its like in the video at 8:48, where CC like Brig Stun and Rein Charge just stop you from traveling to the already thrown translocator
@@magirock5300 Those are different because they are total loss of control effects. Its interesting you guys say that you can't TL with hinder on because I have had very many instances now where exactly this happened and I could TL just fine. Just had to throw it before it sticks. Which I think makes the matchup a lot more fair to the sombra again
In a game I stuck a sombra with mag nade after she threw the translocator and she still teleported and removed the nade completely.
With the release of OW2, the devs changed how damage boost is applied to the new abilities.
Back in OW1, if the player was damage boosted while casting the ability, the ability itself would be damage boosted for its whole duration, including impact damage, DOT and AoE. That applies to nanoboost, mercy's blue beam, bap's window.
In OW2 though, for all the abilities from OW1, that logic stays unchanged. For all the new abilities though, the damage boost from nanoboost & mercy blue beam only boost the ability's damage (all types of it) when the player is also being damage boosted - so, for example, if the Virus has been infecting an enemy for 1 sec, but then Mercy decides to damage boost the Sombra, the Virus will start dealing more damage. But if then Mercy stops damage boosting Sombra, the Virus damage will go back to normal. And when it comes to Bap's window, only impact damage is damage boosted; AoE and DOT stays unchanged (so there's no point in, for example, shooting Sojourn's Disruptor Shot through the window).
As always though, there might be some exceptions to these rules.

this is so annoying as a mercy player. You have to preemptively calculate when your ashe will use her dynamite, and dmg boost BEFORE she throws it, but with characters like soujorn you’re able to dmg boost the damage after it has already been thrown. It’s super offsetting at times because they’re no reason for them to be different.

So genji’s sword is able to deflect energy orbs, gravity wells and now even abstract concepts like computer viruses

Virus DoT is reduced on Ramattra because of his armor in Nemesis, not becuase of the block itself.
DoT effects are not blockable by Doom/Ramattra. The only exception is Ana if the shot connects while the block is already active.
Actually, it appears the Virus DOT on Ramattra is being reduced because of his armor, not because of the blocking.
One thing i want to point out, I was on Doomfist and I punched a Sombra's translocator while trying to escape, and it stopped my punch, causing me to die. It didn't break, and sombra had not teleported yet, so took no damage from it. Would love to see some testing around interactions with that like if turrets try to shoot it still and such since it could impact the game, like my punch scenario
For anyone wondering, Translocator can save Sombra from Sigma's Ult
If thats true then you possibly have time to TL out *and* cancel the ult with a hack, might be a bit strong if so
Must be a bug. They should keep it and add the ability also to other heroes like moira and reaper
that used to be how reaper and moira worked, and htey removed it for a reason. Moira n reaper could just walk out of grav or fluxwith those abilities, and mei could iceblock out of em. @@vigour6786

removing the control over stealth was such a stupid move. I expect it from blizz/OW employees because half of them dont play the game and the other half are silver ELO. but my god what a horrible design choice to make stealth and translocate automatically activate. taking control away from half of sombra's old kit is something only a bad player would think to do

If you get hindered after throwing the translocator but before teleporting, you still get teleported. This means that you can escape hinder if you throw the translocator before the hinder grenade connects
Something i had happen as Sombra i was playing a match and our ana nanoed me and took me outta stealth, i did not know that was a thing. If it worked like that prior to this update i had never seen it. I almost never seen Sombra get nanoed.
WELL GET READY CAUSE IT'S GONNA BE HAPPENING A LOT MORE NOW. Like, for reals, I';ve never had so much attention from mercys and ana before in my life. It's giving me performance anxiety

It killed me yesterday, from a friendly Lifeweaver xD

In my opinion this new reworked sombra has been SO much more fun, i enjoy being able to stay in the battle and not run across the map
it’s more fun to play, but also more frustrating to play against. burst damage is too much people are having difficulty to respond. we should give it a bit more time to have a verdict tho.
it's also really frustrating how easy it is to miss translocator, it's still a big hitbox and if it collides with a wall you're just dead, you're also just dead if you get tagged out of invis after throwing it
it's only fun to you because you never played the old sombra, or you were playing her incorrectly. new sombra doesnt have control over half of her old kit, its horrible

@@ddenozorthe burst damage is less than other abilities and can only affect one person at a time. If you miss, there’s no splash and it can be outhealed quickly.
Also, Sombra can’t just tp out if she does anything, she has to commit and there’s various ways to win the 1v1 against her. She’s a better duelist and provides some utility to her team but I wouldn’t say that she’s less fun to play against cause I’ve killed plenty of Sombras so far.

It has been updated now and now it can't be interrupted by enemies so sombra can teleport if she was pinned for example (only when she threw the translocator before pinning)
She is so much better now, she can just teleport and still help doing demage, the old translocator was bad because it keeps you away from the team every time you return to it.
Shoutout to the Sombras that got shot by an Ana once and yeeted themselves back to spawn before the rework...
finally no more afk sombras in my games that shoot one bullet get hit once and teleport back rinse and repeat
@@rajkanishuAny half decent Sombra is also glad for the change 😂 Her damage per second was atrocious so if the enemy you're flanking had even a few braincells of reaction time to trade shots with you, 8/10 times your hp dips lower than theirs and forces an escape. I'd leave fights at 10 HP and it hurt my soul when it wasn't even a pick for us

I’ve been enjoying the new Sombra rework so far! It definitely feels much worth it to engage in the fight and it’s easier to get kills.

I had a weird interaction with rein pin. I saw the pin coming and tried to throw the translocator. The translocator went out but the rein hit me before the .25 seconds. Somehow survived hitting the wall but didn't actually teleport anywhere.

something that wasn't tested but I found out, if you throw trans and get stuck by a nade right after, you will still teleport and dodge the damage

I've thrown translocator just before getting pinned and it translocated me into the air and I was pinned against an invisible wall midair. But I've also thrown it just before getting slept and I translocate and immediately wake up.
KarQ did you forget that Ramattra has Shield health in nemesis form? Which is the reason it dealt 30% less damage
Block the impact down to 2.5 plus the 70 damage from the armored virus damage and the math checks out.
That Virus-Dynamite comparison is going to confuse a lot of people.
Virus has IMPACT damage and only AFTER it has DoT, the IMPACT is the damage getting doubled.
Ashe's DoT on Dynamite gets doubled because that IS it's impact damage.
i was wondering if you could go through certain walls with translocator? because there have been times that i feel like i shouldve bumped my head on stuff after throwing the transolcater but just went through it
Honestly this rework has made playing Sombrero so fun and it feels greats being able to engage in fights and do crazy damage.

Weird thing that happened to me with junkrat trap was I threw the translocator and fell in a trap and it teleported me out :D
So seeing how damage DoT works shows that Sombra’s DoT is purely off the Character’s damage and is always connected to her while ash’s dynamite fire is owned by ash and the dynamite so if either gets damage boosted the fire damage is boosted. Don’t know if it’s intentional or not the Virus can’t be windowed but would like to see sombra with basically a nerfed Fire strike window combo to one shot squishes.
4:10 Questron said recent videos while throwing viruses through amp, that the tick damage would double. I guess he was mistaken.
I found out the first one when I tried to translocate away, only to die since i was stuck being visible inside the point
Does stealth timer start after damage over time damage has finished or when the damage starts?
Does support passive timer start after Virus damage has finished or after the impact damage?
After damage has finished to both of those. If you're taking damage, it counts you as in combat
From the look of it. The virus damage is directly applied from Sombra instead of being a "pet" applying the damage in the same way that other projectiles would
I know you said translocater can go through barriers and such.
However... can it go through Mei wall as well?
I then noticed it couldn't go through petal platform. If I was to make an educated guess, I would say no.

is your stealth cooldown still stuck at 2 if contesting with another teammate? what about 3+ teammates on a payload map?
I saw a tik tok where sombra threw her transporter through stigmas rock as he was about to launch it and the rock broke. I don't remember if the sigma was on the friendly team or enemy team.

Push robots are pretty buggy. You sometimes still go into stealth if you're pushing it. I haven't had enough time to figure out why, though. I think it might be if other people are also pushing it?
This would be interesting for a myths part 2! I was thinking the same about hybrid/control points - if another teammate is already contesting point, does Sombra still get forced out of invis if she steps on point?

I got punched by doom while my transocator was in the air, so I knew that it wont teleport, I thought it was a bug
Can you also tests if ally virus + nano affects the deflected virus onto the hacked target aswell as if nano enemy sombra affect the virus or nano genji very curious about those interactions since the virus is technically ally's but deflected and knowing that deflect transfers ownership to genji does that mean nano genji makes virus and hacked target recieve more dmg? Or would the nanoing enemy sombra do aswell as if multiple nano on genji and on the 2 sombras multiply the effect
Sombra is now aggressively fun
because you never played her before. sombra was just fine before the patch and was plenty of fun to play unless you were bad at the game
i wonder how good sombras will use her new playstyle.
She plays more like an assassin now so she's on par with Tracer and Genji.
Main difference is that:
Sombra is still the safest and hardest to pin down out of the three, having both a very fast disengage and strong positioning via translocator & stealth. Hitting a squishy with virus makes it much easier to kill and she has synergy with hack silence + virus 120dmg in 2s. Her core weaknesses are still the same, supports healing her target means Virus is useless and she has the lowest damage out of the three. She is less aim intensive though since Virus takes away most of someone's hp.
Tracer is still the best duelist out of the three, being able to oneclip someone in 1s and dodge 4 abilities with blinks + recall. Her main issue is that she's the only one out of the trio without strong vertical mobility and she has the weakest disengage, where if she wants to disengage she has to keep 1-2 blinks and that affects her dueling strength.
Genji is the middle ground between Sombra and Tracer with a reset mechanic that lets him 1v5 teams if played well. He has good burst damage but is still decently safe. He trades mobility for this however, being the least mobile out of the three and heavily reliant on good movement (wasd + double jump) and deflect in duels.
It'll still be the same percentage. Same goes for people complaining about her being dogshit/op on the forums. Nothing changes. Ever.

Hacking Illari's turret - does it prevent her from relocating? If I hack it, then destroy it just before the hack duration ends, do I effectively double the time their pylon is unusable?
Btw how did you make it so you could see the numbers when you deal damage on someone and heal someone?
How much total damage can a virus do if the Sombra is Mercy damage boosted, Nanod, Amp matrix, and the enemy is hacked and discorded?
Is the translocator affected by gravity after it lands? What if it is on a lifeweaver platform as it disappears

Yesterday i killed a JQ with a headshot from the virus and it showed in the kill feed too and she was hacked so she took the extra impact damage but she was low so im wondering if theres actually a Crit multiplier for virus or not?
I think it's just how the kill feed is reading the damage output data from the abilities. Like, so the game knows the base damage of your attacks and that a crit is double that or whatever. So it's seeing the 20 impact damage be reported from the player models and goes OH SNAP that only does 10 but it said it hit for 20, dat musta be a crit! Even tho the bonus is from hack. Other damage boost abilities don't stack an nothing else ever reaches double damage modifier, so that's why we haven't see this kinda display bug yet. But like I mean the damage numbers are being applied right, so like...who cares if it says headshot in then kill feed? Lol
If you use the virus during zarya bubble and it breaks, does the dmg continue on zarya?

It kinda counters sympathetic due to dot but no it does not counter any of those hack counters exo and wall ride tho
the "head shot virus kill" might be how its coded as a critical damage that is noramlly just headshots that trigger it, i think in the new game mode pve event mode theres a buff to give attacks always crit and it works basicly the same with what every the condition is, virus just has a bonus inital dmg on crit.
Getting hog hooked with my translator in the air was a hard lesson to learn… 4 times in one game 😅
Well, think of it this way. It was charity work, like visiting those sick kids in the hospital's cancer ward. That poor hog probably hasn't felt something like that in months.
Blizzard actually carried out a QA this time before releasing this.

Does this translocator have 5hp like the previous one? Ie, is it destroyable?
I feel that she was nerfed but buffed a lot too. No more will we be forced to wait for the same Sombra to waddle up to point, to tp back to their little health pack, just to come back again.
Does sombra translocator collide with tree of life?
Feels like its a bug that damage boosting increases DoT increases post Virus cast. They made it a point in OW1 that Mercy and Ana only damage boosts the projectiles when they are casted under the influence of damage boosting. Not when they've already been shot.
same happens with sojourn's aoe and jq bleeds, they really need to fix those bugs
@@fiona9891I don't think they're bugs. I think it's just a disconnect or different preference between the devs who worked on ow1 and the ones currently working on ow2. I kind of wish things were consistent so you didn't have to remember how every little thing worked but at the same time, I really do like being rewarded for my knowledge of the game, you know?
@@sethescope the reason i think it's a bug is that for jq's bleed you need to be damage boosting her both when she uses knife/carnage/etc *and* you need to keep damage boosting her while the bleed is going (if you stop and reapply damage boost it doesn't boost it anymore even though you hear the damage ticks), while for sombra's virus and soujorn's aoe you can start and stop damage boosting them at any point during the ability

I know that's how JQ's bleed works, I remember not understanding it at one point and then I asked in Niandra's discord just to be safe and they explained it. but now I'm all confused because I could have SWORN that sojourn's AOE was similar but maybe I'm all confused, it's semi early, I have no idea what's going on in any part of my life 😂
