  • It’s Halloween time and for many of those in Lorain County back in the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s meant dressing up in your favorite costume and heading out to Uncle Vics Nightclub in Elyria Ohio. Many were saddened by the fire that gutted the building on February 25, 2021.
I for one had some good times there, but some nights you might go back down to Mardi Gras on the lower level or head out to Warehouse or Chubbies Pub down the Rd. on Broad St.
Or maybe you might prefer Spanky’s in North Ridgeville where there might be a College ID night on Wednesdays or Ladies Nights on Thursday with a band like Fayrewether playing on the weekend.
Other places might be Tropicanna in Avon Lake or Monopolies in Lorain. This video was created like a mini fictional novel with the Kiss song “Beth” tying the vintage pictures and footage together (no Uncle Vic did not have a Beth siting home alone while he was at the club).
An appreciative thank you goes to Marlene Walker and Alan Leiby as they originally shared and digitalized most of the pics.
And please visit and support the Spirit Of 76 Museum in Wellington where Alan Leiby is a proud volunteer.
