Rivers Edge bar on the east bank... Cheapest drinks. Also, the owner lived upstairs of the bar. The other bar I went to was the Basement. The street level was decorated like a basement with a dance floor and the 2nd level was like a living room.
Can I get still pictures that are on this video? I lived through the renaissance of the Flats as a boater and it was definitely one of the best times of my life. The Flats was for everybody then but I don't see it that way now. Sad.
I think he meant the music floated with the video...seen a lot of acts in the 80's in The Flats...music now... it's total ruminating garbage with no rear view that matters
I Remember The Parade Of Boats.Always Elbow To Elbow Down There. What A Time!

The background music should of been "Those Were The Days My Friend, I Thought They'd Never End" by Mary Hopkin (1968)
What good days drank all night and then drove home in the morning getting up and walking around your car to see if you hit anything ❤😢
Shame color photography hadn't reached Cleveland by the 1980s.
Hahahahaha!! 🤣
Cleveland doesn't like coloreds
in the 60s dpoos was a hoy spot .flats had the river fest till the teenagers came anf riotrd .that was the end of that .great places to go ,
Back when you could raise a family on 30k a year.
how many of those people actually lived in Cleveland proper
Most of em
@Beachball Chronicles I used to frequent the flats in the late 70s early 80s and most of the people I knew from there were Clevelanders.
Horrible music
Yea, Peabody's, The Odeon. It sucked seeing Top-National acts for the cost of a beer. And the LOCAL Music scene was The BOMB
80s music...
