I live in Tiffin, OH (slightly less than two hours west of Cleveland), and have used your videos quite frequently to gain insight on many of the places that you have traveled for when I plan my trips. Thank you so much for all that you do to help all of us, other fellow travelers and to share your experiences with us :) (P.S.) So happy that you brought up Cedar Point. Easily one of the best, if not the best, amusement parks in the country. We go almost every weekend in the summer.
Have you ever checked out Tourism Ohio? So many places to visit and see in Ohio. They will even send you out brochures, maps, event calendars, etc and help you plan your trip as well. it's a great resource
'The mistake on the lake' was specifically the old Municipal Stadium that was shared by the Browns and the Indians. The city is wonderful, and I always loved visiting the Cleve' when I was a kid.
@@wyattearpswoman838 I am from Philly, and only referred to Municipal Stadium as "The mistake on the lake" not the city of Cleveland, which is awesome!
I loved the old municipal stadium. School used to excuse us for the day to go watch the Indians home openers. Besides, where else could you just walk into a stadium, supposedly working a concession stand, and watch all the games for free! lol
Clevelander here! So glad to see you filmed at Edgewater! It is the one place I tell all of my residents and fellows to visit when they come to Cleveland! It's true that those of us who live here want to share our city with others. We are more than willing to give advice on where to go and what to do. Winter can sometimes stick around for a while but late spring to early fall are fabulous! Also, a lot has changed in the past 15-20 years so, for those who haven't been here in a while, don't be afraid to give Cleveland another visit.
I went recently from Buffalo for a concert, was surprised how clean and friendly it was. Amazing food scene. Feels familiar to home. Memes aside, Rust Belt has a lot of soul and laid lack, down to Earth vibe. You feel like you can just be yourself, no one will judge you for anything.
Totally agree NawDog. I'm visiting from San Francisco for the weekend and I'm loving it here. It's an awesome city and the people and food are amazing. Down to earth and unpretentious. I could see myself living here.
CLE is my second hometown. As far as food you forget the official sandwich of Cleveland. The POLISH BOY!!! A mix of African American and Eastern European cuisine!! BEAUTIFUL!!! Hot Sauce Williams or Seti's is recommended.
I lived in Cleveland back in 2009/2010 and I really enjoyed. Made friends, went to beautiful parks, ate in great restaurants and shopped a lot. I miss it, I would love to visit some day.
@@boogiedownforever @woltersworld Loved the Rotor, went on it many times before it was gone! My best friend I met my Jr year in high school, we still have passes; pretty much non stop since 1981 🎢
Don't forget University Circle and adjacent Little Italy. University Circle is where the Cleveland Museum of Art, Museum of Natural History and other cultural attractions are. Great food and vibe strolling Little Italy.
As a born and raised Clevelander i really enjoyed this video. It was almost word for word the speach i give to anyone asking what does Cleveland have to offer. Thank you for emphasizing that we are not a mistake on the lake 😂
We love Cleveland! So much to do and easy to get around!! Best of all it’s affordable and cool! Love 27 Club coffee, West Side Market and Hall of Fame! Cleveland natives love their city and tell you all the hidden gems! Public transportation is safe and easy to use!
Cuyahoga = Kai-uh-HOG-ah So glad you were here! The scenic railroad in CVNP in autumn is the best use of your time. Start at Rockside station when you need a seated adventure or break from the bustle.
Back when I was young in the 70s and 80s my grandparent's WW2 generation seemed like they all skipped town from the day after New Years until the week before Easter, and headed south, getting the name 'snowbirds". We get that lake effect cloud cover in that time as well as the snow, which adds to the brutality. A couple of more years until the kids are out of school, and I will keep the Basecamp here, but be a snowbird. Even the native Americans didn't stay here over the winter!! They saw the snow situation and got the hell out too! Lol!
@@castlecorn593 You can't blame it on global warming. It's the tectonic plates are forever in motion which cause the changes in weather over the years. People seem to forget Earth went through an ice age in the past . same difference going through a warming stage
Another tip- if the Edgewater Cleveland sign is full of people, which is normally is, try the Tremont or North Coast Harbor ones instead. Honestly the North Coast Harbor sign has a better view of Cleveland (in my opinion). A few more suggestions from a local- the best food isn't downtown or even on West 25th, the best food is in Ohio City and Tremont. Get breakfast at Grumpy's and order the Cajun potatoes! Get chocolate at Malley's, and go to a location with an ice cream shop in it (the North Olmsted location has a rotating eating section in the middle of the store). If you wanna see gorgeous houses, take a drive down Lake Road on the west side or the Coventry neighborhood (along Coventry Road) on the east side. If you're in the east side suburbs, you have have to go to Corky and Lenny's deli. And, fun fact, the 35mph turn on I-90 is literally called Dead Man's Curve, so.... there's that lmao. But you probably WILL drive down it if you go to the art museum or the gorgeous cultural gardens along MLK blvd (another highly recommend). I'm living out of country right now and I'm so homesick for my city, this video is giving me all the feels for the best city in the world 🥰🥰🥲
Making me homesick. I lived in the Cleveland area for many years. Saw many great bands in the flats, and used to shop at west side market all the time.
Glad to see you visited our beautiful city. Have been here since 1998 and have seen so many good changes. Great place to raise kids. So many things to do. Metro parks is awesome as is Cuyahoga national valley.
When I visited, I loved Bookhouse Brewery. They had tons of books lining the walls that you could pick up and read while enjoying your beer, it was really cool.
Making fun of the Browns is like making fun of your mom. If it’s *your* mom, you can make jokes. Anyone else is out of line. If the Browns are *your* team, crack all the jokes you want. It’s part of the culture. Everyone else- watch your mouth. Don’t be a jerk
Lived in Chicago, Seattle and Cleveland. All great cities. Cleveland has one of the best art museums and orchestras in the country. Great restaurants as well.
Lived in Cleveland a few years now, has all the big city amenities, but cost of living is reallyyyy affordable to those other big cities! When friends visit out of town they are always blown away by how much it has to offer. (we are all mid 20's to early 30's). I tell them visit any time, but don't tell to many people how great the city is or everyone will want to move here! haha.
I lived in Cleveland from 1980-90 and again from 1995-03. There really is so much to do and so many great places to eat. Still have friends and relatives there. I miss summer bike nights at Quaker Steak n Lube - hundreds of motorcycles ! Btw Cedar Point is an awesome park for roller coasters and other thrill rides, but it's in Sandusky about an hour west of Cleveland.
Working class brewery has THE best beers in the area, I’m so glad you showed them. I know the owners, they’re really great people too! I hope you checked out their actual bar, it’s a great place to hangout in Westpark.
Don't forget, after you've spent 3-4 days in Cleveland to stop by Canton and visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame. After that, come to Columbus and spend 3 or 4 days here. You can visit the Columbus Zoo, Center of Science and Industry (COSI), The Columbus Museum of Art, The Ohio State University and the museums that reside there, The Ohio Theater, and The North Market (for lunch or a snack). The Ohio Statehouse is here, the National Veterans Memorial and Museum is here and the local food and brew scene is amazing!! The head over to Dayton and visit The Aviation Trail, and of course, The National Museum of the United States Air Force (which takes a solid two days to see). Then head to Cincinnati. Basically, Take two weeks in the summer and tour Ohio!
I live in Pittsburgh and have visited Cleveland a bunch of times, and several times over the past year or two. My favorite is hanging on the beach behind the R&R HoF during sunset (when the sky is clear enough), which I did a couple times this summer. Absolutely beautiful. And oh, yeah...the black and gold...being a Steelers fan, I consciously don't dress in black and gold when I visit. My brother and I went last week and being a chilly day, I layered up so I didn't have to wear my heavy Steelers coat!
I live around Pittsburgh too and I also visit Cleveland for fun sometimes. They honestly have better museums and botanical gardens in Cleveland. Food seems better too.
Cleveland native here! Pittsburgh is absolutely beautiful as well! To be honest, there really hasn't been much of a rivalry for years. Most of us kinda hate the Ravens more 😂🤷🤦. Thanks and bring me some Primanti bros next time you're in The Land ❤️
5 more don’ts : don’t travel around the east sid at night . Don’t go to anywhere Newburgh heights Don’t walk around downtown at night (you’ll get asked for money everywhere) Don’t drive down alleyways at night Don’t interrupt the flow of traffic
Only probably with Newburgh is the police but I drive thru all the time no problems also live on east side so driving at night is usually not a problem either
Also, don't make a joke about how the lake caught on fire. That's the only thing that will really, I guess annoy us the most. The mistake on the lake doesn't bother me, I just laugh it off. Born and raised here 5 minute walk from my house from where he was filming!
Super easy access to Lake Erie which u can travel by boat (for fun as we did) a short distance to "Party Islands". Such a fun time in the whole Cleveland area with TONS and TONS of restaurants all over East and West side. Lots of historical museums, Little Italy which was a gem and a lot more. A great getaway if u know places to go
I have lived on the east side of the CLE all my life. People don’t make a negative comment if you haven’t visited. Every city has positives and negatives. Cleveland has a World class orchestra. Multiple sports teams. Classic architecture. World class Cleveland Museum of Art. And our best jewel - Lake Erie! We will never run out of water!! 😊
I love this! I am a Clevelander, born and raised and this makes me so happy to have someone describe our lovely city as you did. Also, if you want to have a unique view of the city, you guys can come check out the Nautica Queen! You get a nice dining experience, buffet style, while sailing up and down the lake from approximately Edgewater and down past Burke Airport and we often go up towards the steel mills on the river. Definitely worth checking out!
There’s some beautiful beaches along Lake Erie! My favorites are west of Cleveland in Avon Lake (Veteran’s Memorial Park) and in Vermillion. Especially if you’re driving to Sandusky, definitely stop and check them out.

That 35 mph curve on the highway is called Dead Man's Curve for a reason! Great video. I've enjoyed your videos from Europe for a while now. I was surprised to see you in my hometown. "kai-ah-hoe-ga" lol. This is a great video, you did a wonderful job! As a Clevelander I was worried about this video, but it's 100% accurate. So much to do here and people are genuinely very friendly. I would add that as of this year Cleveland Metroparks, which account for 24,000 acres and over 300mi of trails are ranked #1 parks in the US! We also have Severance Hall and the Cleveland Orchestra. Severance is ranked one of the most beautiful concert halls in the world and the Cleveland Orchestra is ranked in the top 5 orchestras in the world. They also perform at an outdoor venue, Blossom, all sorts of family oriented stuff like Disney songs and movies with the orchestra playing all the music live. Thank you again for such a great video!
It is a completely underrated City I've been to most of the cities in the Midwest and I tell you what I would choose Cleveland over most of the Cities including Philadelphia Pittsburgh Buffalo Chicago Detroit Cincinnati Indianapolis Boston I've had better food and had better times and met more friendly people in Cleveland than any other City especially the ones I just named!
Cleveland would be in my top five, but not at the top of my list. 1. Cincinnati 2. Pittsburgh 3. Detroit 4. Buffalo 5. Cleveland This is just based on my personal experiences and interactions with the locals in those cities. Then again, I'm biased because I lived in the top two cities on my list and had a lot of fun and good times in both of them.

(P.S.) So happy that you brought up Cedar Point. Easily one of the best, if not the best, amusement parks in the country. We go almost every weekend in the summer.
THE best :) and I. Glad our videos could help
@@wyattearpswoman838 what's your beef with Cleveland, man?
@@wyattearpswoman838 elaborate sir ?
I loved the old municipal stadium. School used to excuse us for the day to go watch the Indians home openers. Besides, where else could you just walk into a stadium, supposedly working a concession stand, and watch all the games for free! lol
@@wyattearpswoman838
hahaha Wyatt Earp's woman at it again ruffling some feathers. Shall I join in?
I used to drive from Buffalo every year to go to concerts at the Odeon.
@@zythr9999 😂😂😂😂😂
Totally agree NawDog. I'm visiting from San Francisco for the weekend and I'm loving it here. It's an awesome city and the people and food are amazing. Down to earth and unpretentious. I could see myself living here.
CLE is my second hometown. As far as food you forget the official sandwich of Cleveland. The POLISH BOY!!! A mix of African American and Eastern European cuisine!! BEAUTIFUL!!! Hot Sauce Williams or Seti's is recommended.
Sadly, Hot Sauce Williams have closed down....😢
I lived in Cleveland back in 2009/2010 and I really enjoyed. Made friends, went to beautiful parks, ate in great restaurants and shopped a lot. I miss it, I would love to visit some day.
When you mention Cedar point you bring back memories riding the Demon drop, the Gemini roller-coaster
The gemini!!!!
then just past the demon drop was that spinny thing where you stuck to the walls
@@boogiedownforever yes!!!!
I was actually disappointed by Little Italy I think the people are standoffish and the food is expensive and kind of just whatever.
Don't forget to bring your kayak or paddle board. The Cuyahoga river, last year, was voted the #1 urban paddling spot in the country.
@@wyattearpswoman838 lol stop
@@wyattearpswoman838 Most of Cleveland is perfectly safe. There is a small part that is dangerous, not unlike any other large city in America.
Cleveland resident here, Cedar Point is about 1 hour west of Cleveland in Sandusky, OH he's right. Thanks for the video Mark
Visited last summer.. Moving there January 2022 from. NY.. We love Cleveland
Good for you
Long-time Clevelander here. Such a great city/area 9 months out of the year. Winters can be brutal, but the sacrifice is worth it!
It’s so interesting hearing where you went as a child. You should dedicate a video to it sometime, all the places you went to growing up
Cuyahoga = Kai-uh-HOG-ah
So glad you were here! The scenic railroad in CVNP in autumn is the best use of your time. Start at Rockside station when you need a seated adventure or break from the bustle.
ONLY reason I would ever move out of CLE is our winter! (Except this year…not too bad…yet)
I told Mark.the same...we could live there, not in wintee😆
Back when I was young in the 70s and 80s my grandparent's WW2 generation seemed like they all skipped town from the day after New Years until the week before Easter, and headed south, getting the name 'snowbirds". We get that lake effect cloud cover in that time as well as the snow, which adds to the brutality. A couple of more years until the kids are out of school, and I will keep the Basecamp here, but be a snowbird. Even the native Americans didn't stay here over the winter!! They saw the snow situation and got the hell out too! Lol!
@@zythr9999
send them over for a tour of Mount Pleasant neighborhood bwahahahaha
You thank Global Warming for this year's winter
@@castlecorn593
You can't blame it on global warming.
I'm living out of country right now and I'm so homesick for my city, this video is giving me all the feels for the best city in the world 🥰🥰🥲
Born and raised Cleveland girl it's nice to see someone talk great about it 😊
Making me homesick. I lived in the Cleveland area for many years. Saw many great bands in the flats, and used to shop at west side market all the time.
Love westsidemarket
Glad to see you visited our beautiful city. Have been here since 1998 and have seen so many good changes. Great place to raise kids. So many things to do. Metro parks is awesome as is Cuyahoga national valley.
Have you walked through/climbed the Ledges at CV?! Amazing experience!
@@marcellax4556 absolutely....many times. Amazing.
When I visited, I loved Bookhouse Brewery. They had tons of books lining the walls that you could pick up and read while enjoying your beer, it was really cool.
I love reading
I am not big Beer fan
The 1 don't that I have when visiting Cleveland is: Don't trash talk about the Cleveland browns
And the Browns have one of my favorite players, Nick Chubb! 🙂
BROWNS GOING TO PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR!
Making fun of the Browns is like making fun of your mom. If it’s *your* mom, you can make jokes. Anyone else is out of line. If the Browns are *your* team, crack all the jokes you want. It’s part of the culture. Everyone else- watch your mouth. Don’t be a jerk
I predicted that when I move there the Browns will make the superbowl.. Moving there Jan 2nd 2022..
Bills gear fine on game day? lol
Thanks for showing our city some love!!!! Great video!!!!!
Whoa, i wasn't expecting all of this praise, and good recommendations!
Thanks for the review and great look at our city!
Awesome video. I was born and raised in Cleveland. Been living in Los Angeles the past 21 years and often return to Cleveland. A great place to visit!
Grew up in cleveland and still li e here. Thanks for visiting and the kind words. Also cleveland is very easy to get around. Traffic is usually tame.
Lived in Chicago, Seattle and Cleveland. All great cities. Cleveland has one of the best art museums and orchestras in the country. Great restaurants as well.
Don’t forget lake view cemetery. It’s beautiful
I've lived in the Cleveland area my whole life. So much has changed since I was a kid.
Lived in Cleveland a few years now, has all the big city amenities, but cost of living is reallyyyy affordable to those other big cities! When friends visit out of town they are always blown away by how much it has to offer. (we are all mid 20's to early 30's). I tell them visit any time, but don't tell to many people how great the city is or everyone will want to move here! haha.
I’m with you
Not no more with the cost 🤦🏿♂️
Sooo many memories of Cleveland love that Beautiful City ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I lived in Cleveland from 1980-90 and again from 1995-03. There really is so much to do and so many great places to eat. Still have friends and relatives there. I miss summer bike nights at Quaker Steak n Lube - hundreds of motorcycles ! Btw Cedar Point is an awesome park for roller coasters and other thrill rides, but it's in Sandusky about an hour west of Cleveland.
Been watching you're channel for awhile and I gotta say I'm grateful to see my city get rep on your channel. Glad you guys enjoyed it.
Nice *review* of Cleveland. People here do love the city! The most loyal ever
Thank you so much for your positivity about the Cleveland area
Working class brewery has THE best beers in the area, I’m so glad you showed them. I know the owners, they’re really great people too! I hope you checked out their actual bar, it’s a great place to hangout in Westpark.
We will on our next visit. I liked their beer
As a lifelong resident of Ne Ohio, I'm surprised at how exciting you made it sound. I might have to actually spend more time in Cleveland 😅
Have you ever gotten a cleveland steamer?
Cleveland really has a lot to offer!
You wear that Steelers gear and wear it proud here in Cleveland! Not all of us are clowns fans :)

haha that's right : )
5 more don’ts : don’t travel around the east sid at night .
Don’t go to anywhere Newburgh heights
Don’t walk around downtown at night (you’ll get asked for money everywhere)
Don’t drive down alleyways at night
Don’t interrupt the flow of traffic
Only probably with Newburgh is the police but I drive thru all the time no problems also live on east side so driving at night is usually not a problem either
Also, don't make a joke about how the lake caught on fire. That's the only thing that will really, I guess annoy us the most. The mistake on the lake doesn't bother me, I just laugh it off. Born and raised here 5 minute walk from my house from where he was filming!
Born and raised in that city. We came a long way. Thanks to the former Mayor Frank Jackson who grew up in my neighborhood. Cleveland is beautiful
Very good video makes me proud to be from Cleveland and it’s crazy how the tourism industry has went up there in the past few years
You could say like a STEAM roller. Heeeyooooo!
A great getaway if u know places to go
Cleveland is actually amazing 🔥 Thanks for the love!
Great video - don’t forget about our surrounding “party” islands such as Kelly’s, and Bass, great summertime fun taking the ferry
I've been a subscriber for years and got so excited when I saw my city in the subscription feed! Glad you enjoyed your time here.
Thank you Emily
I have lived on the east side of the CLE all my life. People don’t make a negative comment if you haven’t visited. Every city has positives and negatives. Cleveland has a World class orchestra. Multiple sports teams. Classic architecture. World class Cleveland Museum of Art. And our best jewel - Lake Erie! We will never run out of water!! 😊
Cleveland is a great city and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is an absolute must do at least once in a lifetime.
Us locals are so proud and business owners do recommend their "competitors" like you said. We are so proud of each other. Thanks for Highlighting us 🥰 We get brushed aside so often that we're use to it but we know we're great.
That 35 mph curve on the highway is called Dead Man's Curve for a reason! Great video. I've enjoyed your videos from Europe for a while now. I was surprised to see you in my hometown. I had no idea you could spend the night in the Christmas Story House, but good choice eating at the Rowley Inn across the street.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve mentioned the Rapid to people that didn’t live here and got confused looks back. Never realized how unique it was.
I lived in Cleveland in the '70's. Fabulous museum, the best orchestra in the world, some of the most interesting people I ever met, hideous weather, and I got mugged twice.
Cleveland has gotta be one of the most underrated cities in America. Such a fun city.
Agreed
It's also worth mentioning that the President James Garfield National Historic Site is in the Cleveland suburb of Mentor.
Damn Straight.. don’t forget Allen Freed coined the phrase … Rock n Roll while DJing in Cleveland. Cleveland Rocks..
We ❤️ our city! Thanks for showcasing all of the wonderful things we have here in beautiful Cleveland, Ohio! Oh and by the way, that 35 mph curve in the highway is commonly referred to by the locals as Dead Man’s Curve so, yes-please heed the warnings and definitely slow down! 😊
cleveland is one of the best citys ive ever been to
"kai-ah-hoe-ga" lol.
Cleveland area born and raised. It's funny how many people ive talked to that have visited Cleveland and want to live here.
1. Cincinnati
2. Pittsburgh
3. Detroit
4. Buffalo
5. Cleveland
This is just based on my personal experiences and interactions with the locals in those cities. Then again, I'm biased because I lived in the top two cities on my list and had a lot of fun and good times in both of them.
@@mayavenuemisfit814 What year(s) did you live in Cincinnati? I moved to Cincinnati for school last year and I definitely enjoy it, but after visiting Cleveland I felt there was more to do there. I still think id rather live in Cincy than Cleveland though
