Congratulations Danny! My cul-de-sac used to have "lobsterfest" once a year and order in live 5 lb lobsters from the East coast. One of the people in our group was a pilot so he picked them up fresh from the East coast and would bring them back when he flew to Vancouver. The cost was $50/lobster. I remember each and every year we did that. It was absolutely fabulous!

Lobster dishes are in my top 5 of favorite foods, but I have limited myself to just a few times a year because I am primarily plant-based. If you ever want to splurge, the lobster wontons and lobster fried rice at Tao are pretty good. I went to the Mohegan location but they're definitely in Vegas and NYC. Congrats on 20K 🥳

The different pronunciations of "shi-mai" is Mandarin vs Cantonese. I speak Cantonese like Danny, so I would pronounce it without the "Sh" sound. The word itself means to fry or to heat up with fire. By the way, I think Mandarin people dislike the phrase Cantonese people say during the Chinese New Year, "Gung Hay Fat Choy" (Wishing you happy and prosperous New Year). That's normal to prefer our own language.

The Jones Act & The Passenger Vessel Services Act
The Jones Act, 46 U.S.C § 55102, provides that the transportation of merchandise between United States points is reserved for U.S.- built, owned, and documented vessels pursuant to section 55102, a vessel may not provide any protection of the U.S. shipping industry by ensuring that only U.S. built, owned and documented vessels are allowed to transport merchandise between coastwise points within the United States.
See the Customs Bulletin Weekly, (Vol.51) General Notices: "Notice of Proposed Modification and Revocation" of headquarters ruling letters relating to U.S. Customs and Border Protection's ("CBP") application of The Jones Act to the transportation of certain merchandise and vessel equipment that are transported between coastwise points.
The Passenger Vessel Services Act, (PVSA), 46 U.S.C. § 55103 (b), places the same restrictions on the coastwise movement of people. It is this act that prohibits commercial vessels such as cruise ships from allowing passengers to board at one U.S. port and debark at another U.S. port. The applicable to the CBP regulation regarding penalties for violating the PVSA is found in 19 CFR § 4.80, which provides that "[t]he penalty imposed for the unlawful transportation of passengers between coastwise points is $300.00 for each passenger landed on or before November 2, 2015 and $778.00 for each passenger so transported and landed after November 2, 2015 (46 U.S.C. 55103, as adjusted by the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act Improvements Act of 2015). See Federal Register.

Something doesn’t sit right with me. So you’ll call someone who pays high prices for food in a tourist destination a fool, but in the next minute you say you’ve lost $10,000 gambling in a single trip. I find it odd that you can judge how someone spends their own money when you throw away 10k in what I think more people would consider foolish. If high priced food experiences are not for you, then they’re not for you, but to call them fools when you burn 10k gaming seems really off. I like your channel Danny but shitting on the foodies who would rather put their money into food as opposed to something else more in line with your values rubbed me the wrong way. Congrats on 20k though.

Thank you for your nicely worded, and obviously sincere comment.
We are all individuals and we all have our own opinions and feelings about anything in the world, and that is perfectly fine of course... we all cant feel the same way about everything in the world, so it is just inevitable that you will run into people who thinks differently from you, and that is reality.
I disagree with your notion that people have to be consistent. I do not follow the "How can one judge "situation A" when clearly they participate in "situation B" type of thinking.. I believe both things are individual things that does not tie into each other, but as I said, we are all individuals and your thought processes are just as valid as anyone else's.
But I would like to clarify that in your comment, you said I call the people fools, that I am shitting on them. Which is not the case. I had explained that the Type of Business they are running have a Chinese term to it, "WUN BUN" translated to WUN=SEEKING BUN=STUPID. In America, they would call the business "The Scammers" and the people who fall for it "The Victim".
That being said, not every expensive restaurant is WUN BUN.
Some expensive places are worth the high asking prices, and some are WUN BUN.
I will give you an example of such. In a recent video, I went to STK steakhouse, where I ordered Chilean Seabass for $7. what came out was one very small piece, barely enough for one bite. THAT IS VERY EXPENSIVE. It was highly suspicious. But then I ate the little piece of chilean seabass, and it was a 10. I said in the video that it was worth the money.
Although I found that most expensive restaurants I been to are WUN BUN, restaurants dont have to be EXPENSIVE to be WUN BUN, they can be low or moderately priced. The WUN BUN Factor comes in when the offering does not justify the price they are asking for.
I would like you to think about your own experiences, Of all the "high price" restaurants you been to, if you left the place feeling like there was nothing special about what you had, then you were a victim of the WUN BUN.
and finally, if you find that losing 10K at the casino in one trip is foolish, I wont disagree with you.. as a matter of fact, I very much agree with you on that one. AS much as I know that "WUN BUN" restaurants are out there, I also DO recognize that Casinos are also doing the "WUN BUN". There is a great video detailing such story of terry watanabe over here in this video ruclips.net/video/XU5P87LnrUk/видео.htmlsi=TFyjew5eurMhApL7
I thank you again for your well written comment. Cheers!

What's your estimate date to move to Las Vegas? I'm planning to move also from Southern California. I would like to live inside Las Vegas Country Club area, behind the Westgate Hotel and Casino. Close enough to strip, gated community, and can entertain friends and family when they visit. Downtown has the older casinos, but not much outside. In fact, you will have more homeless outside the casino area.

The Country Club area is a gated neighborhood with additional high rise apartments/condos, very expensive, rents start at $2,000 per month. It really is an island in a sea of despair. The area outside the gated area is sketchy and there are lots of vagrants nearby. You'll have to drive 5 miles to shop somewhere half safe. Auto insurance is unaffordable due to the high rate of drunk & high drivers, too many bars/pubs/taverns/liquor stores. Most jobs pay 40% less than California. Do your research first.
