Thank you, Mr. Carr, for funding this video. Thank you , Danny, for your passionate honesty. No thank you to Hakkasan for overpriced food (and water "2 LG WATER STILL $16"). UGH!
That's a beautiful entrance. The food looks as good as the entrance. I love sea bass. It's an amazing fish. Mr. Carr is a very generous host, you're lucky to have fans like him. My eyes are still watering at the sight of that bill.
Danny I agree with you, Hakkasan is not my kind of restaurant. I was just thinking a combination #12 with shrimp fried rice, pork lo mein, egg roll, and wanton soup from China Garden would be around $20 and I would be happy with that.
My wife and I ate there once and we were not impressed. Also when we went to pay the bill, I said I wanted to use my resort comps and charge it to my room. We were told MGM's system was down and they would only accept cash or credit. I was not happy at all. I spoke to the manager and asked him why they didn't have a sign up, or why my waiter didn't tell us before we placed our order. We ended up getting 50% off, but we were leaving the next day and lost a lot of resort credit.
Danny I appreciate your honesty. You were telling us about your experience when we met & now that we viewed this video it just reinforces your story of the meal. Way too pricey for the avg person. I think most of your viewers would agree. Keep up the great work. My wife & I really like your channel. 👍👍
I’m totally with you on this. Crazy prices for nothing. Even if i could afford it, I wouldn’t do it. Good for those who would. But not for me. Most expensive restaurant I’ve ever been to was The Keg😂 here in Canada. It too was too expensive for what you get. That was very nice of Mr. Carr to treat you though. Thanks for sharing DTM😁
Thank you Mr. Carr for a wonderful opportunity to join you in a beautiful restaurant. So few people in this world will ever have the chance. When hosted to special dinner, it's important to savor the experience. What a lovely space to join together with family and friends. Again, you are appreciated.
I do agree with you about overpaying for food but if you can afford it & that’s your thing, then enjoy! I’m more of the mom & pop type of restaurants, & I realize it’s different when you’re in Vegas. The Orleans has a good Asian restaurant (Japanese/Chinese) which I’ll be enjoying this weekend. Love your videos. They’ve helped us make some great dining choices.
Looked different, taste good, fancy and presented well. Not for me, I’m a cheap SOB too! Appreciate good to great food at a fair price for common dishes and more for the high end uncommon dishes, if done well. $500.00 way too much for five in my opinion. Mr. Carr was nice to invite you. Oh well it is and you were at the MGM Vegas! 😂
You are the best. Most of your followers, I hope appreciate the meals they could go to. A splurge is OK for special occasions but there are limits to what most people will spend.😊
I agree! Mr. Carr is a cool dude and paid for the experience that he likes. I'm a man of means and have been to many places like this and my customers loved it. I am only happy when I get real home cooking based on the culture of a cuisine. If they like and serve it to their family and friends then it must be good. I'm not pretentious.
DANNY THE MEDIC- You are 100% right Brother! I prefer more basic foods prepared well, it is probably better for your health as well- for instance I would never consume GOLD...
I love your reactions it's hilarious 😂😂😂. Thank you for your honesty I appreciate it .Thank you Mr Carr for funding this video even though I wouldn't spend $500 on food like that . Bee pollen chicken
Your honesty has help me make good decisions at restaurants when I go to Las Vegas. Chinese food that’s overpriced; not for me. I’m planning a trip to Las Vegas in Dec. staying at Venetian hope to see you there. Take care Danny the Medic
😊 Mr. Dan, questions about the gratuity math. Total amount due was $480.86 with gratuity 18% which they say is $88.74 why dose it say total is $623.03 ?
Thanks Danny for this review. After watching this Hubs and I will be making reservations to go to dinner here on our next trip to Vegas in May. Or should I thank Mr. Carr? Lol. Don't worry Danny. We have food credit and we'll still be visiting Chinatown too! 😁
Great review. I am a foodie and I have no qualms about spending $75 or $100 or even $125 for a meal in a fine restaurant ... but $500 ? No way! The oysters are described as tasting "fishy." Oysters are NOT supposed to taste "fishy" - they have a slightly sweet and nutty flavor and the degree of brininess depends on the origin.
Thanks for doing this review. I went there in a work trip and while the food was generally decent, I thought the food quality was questionable for the price. I made reservations for our family since I was looking for something close to Ká at 7:30 but was concerned my wife might find the “dim sum” a bit insulting, your review confirmed to me she will and I’m going to seek out other dining options.
I really enjoy your candid comments. Yes …Chinese food should NOT be that very expensive. Chinese’s food should be enjoyable to eat and dine..for there many selections. I too would not like paying for ridiculously high prices to fill my stomach…lol…Keep you videos going , your comments are usually on the “mark”..Aloha
Wooow at that bill!! I love ur sense of humor so much I can't pick just 1 moment. But u had me cracking up with all of ur food explanations esp the bee pollen one. I love ur train of thought, so much like me lol. Really appreciate this being a longer video too. More long videos pls! I agree about the tidbits being too extravagant for my taste and not worth the money. I saw the comment awhile ago that suggested u get the $1400 tomahawk steak somewhere and I laughed because I knew u would refuse so I liked ur comment in response to them lol.
Overpriced and mediocre food at best. Not against paying higher prices for a fancy meal, but the plating and taste of the food should be exceptional. Many local Chinese restaurants would put this place to shame in quality and moderate prices. Use the leftover money saved by eating somewhere else and have another dinner the next day. Great video and honest review!
" what the f$!k are you talking about" was my favorite part. I say that to myself at least 13 to 14 times when I watch your videos. Love the channel Danny. You're the best!
If you want really good Chinese food, especially Dim Sum, to to Ping Pang Pong at Gold Coast. It would be good for you do to a video of Ping Pang Pong and explain the best dishes because sometimes it is hard to understand because of the language barrier.
Mr.Carr /Host Thanks - Danny Right on totally agree. the food bill w/ drinks should be approx $ 150.00 on high side on avg Dim Sum place in NYC. I personally don't need attentive waiter/waitress as I eat fast & hearty. wife don't like me go dim sum because I order 5 Hargrow's/5 sui mai & 5 others just to keep me from complaining to my wife I'm still hungry. last time in Brooklyn 65thst the check was like $95.00 before tax/tip w/ all that & more. but if anyone has the cash & don't mind going thru the experience that's totally find.
You are absolutely right ! it would be even a bigger waste of money for me as I won't taste everything anyway, if it looks or smells nasty, I will not chance it especially if I don't know what all is in it.
$600 with tax and tip?? For chinese food?? Where's the large maine lobster, A5 wagyu, and abalone for that price point. Thanks to Mr. Carr for sponsoring this video...
Thank you to 车先生 for making this video possible. Okay...a ridiculously expensive Chinese restaurant with a made up Chinese/Japanese name. Let me continue watching the video and add more comments later. The food looked pretty. But, that didn't translate to good food. You were spot on with the dubbed Godzilla comments. This is one place that I also would stay away from, unless I had a sponsor. $16 for the tap water? What's a water still?
There's a culture out there that caters to its audience like your host. Those people don't respect things UNLESS they cost a fortune. They gauge things by the price, they are status seekers, but they don't know TRUE value. They don't respect the working man or woman...so, you are completely right.
There is an old German song that goes, "Everything has an end, only the sausage has two." I guess that also applies to chopsticks. By the way, there is an asian restaurant in the Wynn that uses sticks with two points, but I never figured out why.
Thank you to Mr. Carr and to you Danny for saving me from $100 per person dim sum. Being Asian at those prices that food (bee pollen chicken) is something I never plan to acquire a taste for. How does Mr. Carr afford meals like that being part of the military?! (military discount on check)
playing along with your question here.... Some military people are paid 16K a month, and if you factor in that the housing is free, thats alotta money....
When I go to Vegas, it looks like I'm going to Shang at Durango.thanks...Danny..im Asian a d I love your reviews..try. some Bulgogi or Mandu ,I love it.
I agree with you about Hakkasan. There is no way we would spend that kind of money for mediocre food. Thank you for your honest opinion. But I have a question for you. Most of the restrauants have LOUD MUSIC ...no it is a LOUD RACKET playing. We sit down at a table to order food, but the racket is so loud the we repeat our order maybe 3 or 4 times. While waiting for our food we try to talk to each other....but it is almost impossible . We end up shouting. I have asked to have the racket turned down, but the response is "do not have the control of the speakers. It has been so bad that lately we get Take out....and bring it home. Could you find out for me Why so much noise is playing in most places? Is this suppose to be "Dinner music"? I wear hearing aids...and by the time we leave I end up with a very bad headache. We have decided not to eat out anymore....just take out. Thank you for your opinions...we watch every Tuesday & Friday.
as you can see in my videos, I eat out alot. I only find LOUD music in a minority of places I go to. Half the time I ask them to turn it down, they are able to do it. The other half, I switch to a different microphone to minimize the music in the videos. As for WHY they do it, that is something you gonna have to find out yourself because you went to those places you went to, just call them up, speak to the managers and you will have your answers.
Hi Danny! I mostly agree with you. I’m not into pretentious restaurants unless they are off the chart great. Then maybe you can justify the cost. I was thinking and glad you said it was a party of five. As a comparison what if the five of you went to The Bacchanal Buffet? It wouldn’t really be much less if at all. I didn’t see alcohol on the bill but there were bottled waters. Also thank you for your service and contributing your military discount! ❤️ I could argue a sit down experience in a fine restaurant bests a buffet, even B. If the food was average then that’s the real issue. Everything costs so much now. I want to recommend a place much more suited for the common man. My main question is do you like birria? If you do I went to a place, a small mom & pop type establishment on Maryland Parkway. I got a recommendation and trusted their opinion and went. Well it was one of the best of its type I’ve ever had before or since. There can be cheese so eater beware, ask for not with. They have the beef and goat varieties and I’m not a huge goat fan but oh my! It was the GOAT. I’ll leave it up to you for transit options, it’s on a main road. The place is called Los Arcos Birrieria at 2201 S. Maryland Pky. I can’t wait for my next trip to go back there. If you go, enjoy! Great video Danny! Joe
@@dannythemedic Bacchanal does their version. It’s those grilled tacos on the big round grill that rotates. They stuff them and dip them in the consumé put in shredded cheese then grill it on that flat rotating grill thing. If you like Mexican food it’s great. If you don’t then maybe not. Not super spicy more an intense flavor. You can add spicy peppers and salsa to increase the heat, usually on the side.
Do you think it’s dark so first you can’t read the menu and see the cost second how little the portions are. I’d bet the lighting is good when it’s time to pay.
You are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. I could be a millionaire and not pay that price. Carbone's was the last straw of fine dining for me. Steak houses are going to cost, but not like that for what was ordered. Hot pot next time I would say
Tip was $90+ for 5 people, you can do takeout for 5 at a decent place for that amount, without paying tips since its takeout. Had danny not sample the food and ate until he is full, im sure the total price would be 900 after tips for 5 people, since there was a 10% military discount of 42$ on there.
Thanks for outing this ridiculous overpricing and fleecing of the Vegas visitors. There are better meals to be had in Vegas on and off the strip. The everyday people are the ones that have built Vegas, not the "more money than common sense" people. Mr. Car so nice to have DTM join you, he joined us last June at the Wynn Buffett, he is a hoot.
Hi Danny, $500 but about $625 with TIP !!! That's $125 a person for your 5 person group. Yeah, we "common folks" could put better use of that money and still have a better time ! Thanks for showing us these "HIGH ROLLER" restaurants !
Danny, I wear my gold, I don't eat it. Everyone has their own tastes in food and what may taste good to you, may not taste good to me, regardless of price; but, I agree with you 100%. Great review.❤
White asparagus is called “spargel” and grown in the Heidelberg and Schwetzingen region of Germany. The German farmers in the area cultivate the vegetable and grow them enormous and consider them a delicacy. They even have a festival in honor of the tasty ‘white gold’. We lived in Germany for 7 years. However the spargel they served you looked like a small weak imitation of the original.
that price is a rip off as is the tip they expect ''we do not tip in new zealand thank christ''no way would i go to a places like that ,even if i was affluent .''in these tough times its all about getting value for one's hard earned that's the way i see it mate'.thank you d.t.m. cheers.''
The Hong Kong Fried rice looks like Yang Chow Fried Rice. In my opinion, least of my favorite. Give me the rrgular soy based Fried rice anytime. Overall, portions seems small for its price. .
Thank you, Mr. Carr, for funding this video. Thank you , Danny, for your passionate honesty. No thank you to Hakkasan for overpriced food (and water "2 LG WATER STILL $16"). UGH!
Danny is spot on with this review. It is an exclusive dinning for the rich people who value atmosphere more than value
Thanks Mr. Carr for supporting this video 👍🏻

"Gold doesn't taste like anything" you Crack me up!!!🤪🤣🤣🤣
I am SO serious! ever put a piece of 24K gold in your mouth and be like, this dont taste like anything!
The price for meal was cost for ambiance. Great that you were invited by others for a review. Thank you Mr Carr
I get such a kick out of your reviews! You have a great sense of humor. Thanks for always making me smile.

You should review China Mama. I hear it's one of the best Chinese restaurants in Las Vegas. Also, darkness in a Chinese restaurant feels so wrong.
its more of a rich people restaurant serving chinese food lol

Rich people must have different taste buds than us working guys !!
DTM! The most entertaining food and travel channel on earth! 🙌
I went to high-end restaurants when I worked (sometimes, vendors paid), but not so much as a semi-retired person.
Danny, You should take Mr. Carr to Chinatown at Orchid Garden for a proper Chinese meal.
I aim to do that very thing!
I love your reactions it's hilarious 😂😂😂. Thank you for your honesty I appreciate it .Thank you Mr Carr for funding this video even though I wouldn't spend $500 on food like that . Bee pollen chicken

Thanks for doing this review. I went there in a work trip and while the food was generally decent, I thought the food quality was questionable for the price.

" what the f$!k are you talking about" was my favorite part. I say that to myself at least 13 to 14 times when I watch your videos. Love the channel Danny. You're the best!
To be honest your reasoning of why it's so expensive is spot on.
You are 100% correct. I agree. Blood sucking, average food, and no lighting. If I had the money, I wouldn't give it to wealthy money mongers.
If you want really good Chinese food, especially Dim Sum, to to Ping Pang Pong at Gold Coast. It would be good for you do to a video of Ping Pang Pong and explain the best dishes because sometimes it is hard to understand because of the language barrier.
Sorry Danny. I’d still go to Orchid Garden or Yum Cha over Hakkasan.
I would never spend that kind of money, even just for the dining experience. Pre-pandemic, $500USD was my grocery bill for 4 months for 2 people.
Asparagus can be white. We had white and green asparagus that grew wild in Garfield County, (Colorado)😊
For a food blogger he knows very little about food.
you should try Mr.Chow also a very expensive Chinese restaurant
I cringe!
I believe I saw Mr. Carr during a Bob Dingo stream at Bellagio.....CRXTI ???
Thank you for the always honest review!:I think I'd rather eat at SK and have a better, more reasonable price.
Dan must’ve hit big on a video poker, which explains he dined at Hakkasan.
As always, honest and funny review 😂.
Here for watching the guy that you ate with, getting progressively pissed off, throughout the dinner. 💀
The bee pollen chicken looked weird...🤑 I like Danny's reviews because he keeps it 💯
your honesty if what matters. 😊
I'm with you on value, Danny. I personally would rather go to Jackson's for the $20 Ribeye dinner special.
I don’t understand why $630 after 20% tip for $480 bill??
Respect, point blank I agree !
There's a culture out there that caters to its audience like your host. Those people don't respect things UNLESS they cost a fortune. They gauge things by the price, they are status seekers, but they don't know TRUE value. They don't respect the working man or woman...so, you are completely right.
Thank you Mr. Carr
12:04 that actually did make sense 👌
Danny, was the price of the dish considered in your rating?
no
There is an old German song that goes, "Everything has an end, only the sausage has two." I guess that also applies to chopsticks. By the way, there is an asian restaurant in the Wynn that uses sticks with two points, but I never figured out why.

My favorite and reasonable priced restaurant in LV is The Magic Noodle 🍜 yummiest food

The everyday people are the ones that have built Vegas, not the "more money than common sense" people. Mr. Car so nice to have DTM join you, he joined us last June at the Wynn Buffett, he is a hoot.
Wait until you hear about the $100 chicken at Martha Stewart in Paris, Las Vegas.
$100 CHICKEN???
Actually $89.95. Roast Chicken for two.

ohhhh for TWO now that is more reasonable... but still OUCH
Hi Danny, $500 but about $625 with TIP !!! That's $125 a person for your 5 person group. Yeah, we "common folks" could put better use of that money and still have a better time ! Thanks for showing us these "HIGH ROLLER" restaurants !
I like to eat cheap too because sometimes it better flavor then expensive ones
Danny, I wear my gold, I don't eat it. Everyone has their own tastes in food and what may taste good to you, may not taste good to me, regardless of price; but, I agree with you 100%. Great review.❤
Maybe the chef is a Chinese Saltbae.
Maybe 😂❤
Mr Dan you should try YUKGA Korean BBQ in Summerlin.

However the spargel they served you looked like a small weak imitation of the original.
wow thanks for such an interesting and well written comment
that price is a rip off as is the tip they expect ''we do not tip in new zealand thank christ''no way would i go to a places like that ,even if i was affluent .''in these tough times its all about getting value for one's hard earned that's the way i see it mate'.thank you d.t.m. cheers.''
Would the medic pay 16 bucks plus tax and tip for the best tap water you ever had
Nice looking restaurant even dark, good ambient, excellent service and good decorated foods and lastly expensive prices
Bee Pollen chicken!!! That's the weirdest thing I've ever heard!!!🙃🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣
You are correct!
You can keep the bee pollen and gold leaf, I'd rather go to a buffet on the strip.
Take them to see Chef AJ.
The entry way was pretty but no way I would pay that much for that food.
Danny, you Crack me up!!!😁😁😁 Does it tastes like an Alien creature? You never rated it?
Id rather hit up Chinatown on Vegas... 😎
Right On !
Shrimp is probably farm raised...some brands come across as flavorless, Better to have wild caught,,
we all know TUNG will never eat there
The Hong Kong Fried rice looks like Yang Chow Fried Rice. In my opinion, least of my favorite. Give me the rrgular soy based Fried rice anytime. Overall, portions seems small for its price. .
I agree.
