It's cool that you've retrofitted Tesla's 'Autopilot' to the van 😏 But seriously I'd stick with the M5 body and just use the 535i as a donor car.
I agree 100%
Much easier conversion than you may think
Responsibly keeping left on the Bruce haha, good job lads!
Such a simple thing, so many people don’t grasp.... to be fair you haven’t got much choice in the van. It’s pretty much tapped at 110kmh.
Y’all make the most banging content best on RUclips hands down💯💯💯
thanks dude!!! thanks for checking out our vids!
Great work getting 10k subs guys, hopefully this time next year 100k!
Thanks so much, its an amazing goal, we are so stoked!
We appreciate your commitment and dedication to the channel pumping out new videos all the time!
Swap all supercharged bits and drive train over to the best clean straight shell you can find 👍
That was the Original plan!
A few things to consider. if you're going to use it as a track it won't matter if it is a matching numbers m5. How much do you have to take off the cat ie. rear subframe to do the straitening, and finally cost wise, how much can you do yourself on either choice.
I've been told that chassis damage is much worse than drivetrain issues. Dunno how true that is. I've had a rebuilt chassis before and it was _just off_. It had so many quirks... small issues.
Maybe it was just a terrible job on my car. Can't wait to see what you decide.
So much easier to swap drivetrains then to fix a bent shell
Definitely the easiest way to go 👍
Should now be a easy swap over since its another M5 car,so everything basically the same..
"Once finished will be one epic M5"..
I'm too late with this advice my friends as I didn't know if your channel until a month ago. If I'd been in time I would have told you (Advised you LOL) to tie a large chain around the rear bumper. Tie the other end around a wooden power pole. Then Skillfully and purposefully yank and pull it with the car. Even giving it a couple hard slams if needed. All of the (or at least most of the..) kinks and problems will come out. The doors will open and close. The bent areas will be straightened and at No Cost. No it won't save the bumper and you'll need new bumper shocks etc still BUT.....Sigh....Oh well. I guess I'll find out what you did in the videos to come. Love the channel and cars!! Sooo jealous! A Lift (Canadian lol) AND an M5 E39! I am not happy. But yet I'm happy for you guys!
We've got a happ and it's been great. I'd recommend the 3 piece arms over the 2 piece ones
Where about are you based? Happ have been great to deal with. It's nice seeing people that are genuinely interested in the product they sell. Looking forward to getting a few more things for the new workshop, when the budget allows.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Brisbane. Just a bunch of back yarders with BMW issues. There's some nifty cars floating about hidden in sheds up here.
I would like to see the hoist as I will be putting a workshop in soon much like yours
Chassis harness should be the same between all V8s. If you want to swap to 535i, DSC unit is little different, DSC pre-charge pump is different, brakes, wheel bearings.. use whole axles if possible, fuel filter, fuel regulator, fuel pump, fuel lines, radiator (you have aftermarket), instrument cluster, switching center (you would need 2 wires to ECU for sport button), servotronic is connected to ECU on M5 and to GM on other models, shifter is little shorter on M5
If you need help with wiring, install WDS app on android phone, very helpful.
Thanks so much for that info. That's brilliant. What do you think is the better way to go? Swap or repair the m5?
@@ZeroTo60Tube If you have a way to repair the M5 properly so there wont be any issues, I'd fix it, there are many different things on the chassis of M5. It should be worth it.
Does that van have Tesla Autopilot?
I would swap the shell. Cars like these will never drive the same after chassis work. It's cooked. That my chassis number means nothing when this thing has been written off twice.
Hey do you guys know of our have yourselves an e39 m sport front bar?
Unfortunately not a spare one. Where are you based?
@@ZeroTo60Tube brisbane
Have you checked with Hillside motorsport hillsidemotorsport.com.au ? He's always got 90s BMW bits around. He will probably know the best place to look too.
@@ZeroTo60Tube thanks I'll check them out!
Whats the go with the seat belt
I’ve missed something here... which belt?
@@ZeroTo60TubeIts just my ocd. when yous were driving in the van
What about the 335i?
Thats the main reason we wanted a hoist...... much easier than doing the turbos on the ground.
@@ZeroTo60Tube The video I look forward to the most :D
I love your work, I own an e39 and I stay in India could you please help me find a way to reach part to India.
Shipping is a big problem right now with so many planes not flying. What do you need?
1 oil pump
2 power steering repair kit
3 some engine bay plastic covers
4 mass air flow sensor
5 pulleys
6 rotors and callipers of M version
7 m style seats or the 12 way comfort seats
And so much more !
You just want to have a "supercharged M5" that's why putting if off, (you don't want a 840/with supercharged M5 bits),
And if can pay someone to fix the M5 would work out easy for you,and then you got a M5.
That's been written off TWICE,so value be low Vs a 835 clean car with supercharged M5 bits?=most value??
It’s a tough one. People value them so differently. I think, and could be wrong, but in 20 years time even a repaired M5 will be worth more then a tidy 540 with M5 bits.
So new shell is just another 835/840 shell then??.
(Go find a good BLACK 5 series shell to use)..
Definitely don't fix the crashed shell, its been written off twice allready and will never ever drive strait..
Just bite the bullet and get a fresh good shell, and swap it all over.
Finding another M5 shell with a blown engine as a donor would be ideal but could wait years till one came up..
the I-D not matching up wouldn't bother me,it's a old car now so who care?.
Just need to bite the bullet and get stuck in 👍.🍻
You could be right but, we know someone that just paid $40k for a frame and vin for an old Austin, the frame is so rusty he’s really just paid for the chassis number to build a fresh one. Kinda worried the same might be said for M5s down the track.
watch this channel ruclips.net/user/tussik01videos and then decide whats next, your m5 have small dents i would say compre to many cars fixed by Artur
Wow, that guy is a wizard.... thats amazing how easy he makes it all look.
