It’s worth pointing out that a lot of people try to “subvert” Superman by having “Evil Superman” because “Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely” and all that. What they forget is that Superman is already the subversion of that trope. Evil versions are just playing the trope straight. Superman’s entire thing is that he’s just Clark Kent with as much power as he needs to help those in need. Superman is never interesting because of how much Kal-El of Krypton can lift, but how Clark Kent of Smallville (The Big Blue Boy Scout) chooses to interact with the world.
And for those who say that a man with all that power choosing to be good is unrealistic, perhaps instead of making Superman more like us, we try to make the world more like he would, because isn’t that the whole point?

Maybe he was cool 80 years ago when a flying dude in tights was still new but there's so many better written and more interesting heroes in the market than superman at this point. It's fine if you think he's cool but there's a reason DC isn't popula as popular as they used to be. They're held back by superman. He's the ace up their sleeve. She's never lost in that state, however it literally just lasts a few moments so we've never gotten to see the peak of her power. This is an umbiased opinion btw. I'm literally going along with the understanding that she's basically a Green Lantern Manhattan because she literally sees how reallity is shaped and builds constructs based on that information. alright superman simps, please try and pay attention. the superman character is written by a multitude of writers, many of whom are morons. this means no character consistency. ultimately we have to aggregate the character, separate out the nonsense. And since superman was killed by doomsday, he does have physical limits. So he can't actually hold a black hole in his hand, or a nonsense concept like a book with infinity pages. grow up. learn to analyze like an adult instead of a fanboi child. the viltrumites are an attempt to create a realistic, constant kryptonian concept, ergo, superman vs omni-man is a close enough matchup, with Thragg (or an older invincible) being a match.

Face it, no matter what people say people will always come back to superman and lord of the rings and invincible and GoT will fall into insignificance or barley hang on to relevance. I think it’s because we as human love stories that show the best of what we can be rather than a relatable story.
Also I’ll be Frank here the story are sometime edgy for the sake of it. Mark getting brutally assaulted by Annisa or the entire character of Ramsay Bolton. These stories if you took the edge away are pretty boring or seem to go far down a rabbit hole it didn’t need to.

On the topic of Superman, there is an arc spanning 2 seasons which questions Superman's intentions and nature. Whether he and the League would turn against humanity, citing Darkseid's influence as the prime example. In the end, Superman prevails and even recognizes his mistakes as a leader.

I’d like to also compare big bads.
Darkseid, Braniac and Doomsday. All soloing Planet Viltrum. Pretty easily, seeing as they’re not only Superman bad guys but team busting threats which Viltrum hasn’t seen on its conquest.
Darkseid has physicals better than Superman, Omega Beams likely one shot Viltrumites seeing as some random space chump’s gun scared Omniman.
Braniac is a heavily upgraded Robot, who was killing Viltrumites left n right. His “drones” give Superman a bad time, when he physically fights the original he just laughs at his punches. Viltrumites are doomed.
Which leads to Doomsday, who has physicals above Superman also, mindless killing machine with no morals and will be immune to whatever they try as it’s been done before.
I understand Invincible fans trying to use bias and jokes from the creator to make their point but it just doesn’t hold a flame to the man of steel. I’d probably cry about it too 😂

Supes entertainment factor comes from his struggles to be a good person and human in a world made of paper where he could wake up one morning and call himself a god and there would be very little anyone could do to stop him.

    Superman would most definitely win.
Superman has more abilities at his disposal, including heat vision, that is literally powered by the sun. Considering the most powerful Viltrumite was killed from a dip in the sun, I’m going to bed a significantly less powerful Omniman or Mark would be greatly hurt by heat vision that draws power directly from solar energy. Combine that with the fact we’ve seen superman do far more impressive examples of physical strength, and it’s pretty much a guaranteed to win for the kryptonian. Yes Omniman has better training, but that will only get you so far. Superman’s raw power, experience fighting literal gods, and powers that directly counter his opponent would mean that in an unbiased fight, Superman would win.
And before anyone brings up the “the author says it, so that means it’s true”, first off he straight up, said that he was just trying to spark controversy so you have to take it with a grain of salt, considering he said it wanting to get people upset. Secondly, it’s true, that he may control the characters within the world of invincible, but he has no control over superman as a Character. So he can’t say with the man of steel can and can’t do.

They also on average possess EXPONENTIALLY greater martial skill and talent than Supes, who is a bralwer that relies on his powers more than martial ability. I pretty much agree with your take on Superman. Especially the take that the writer/creator of one hero can't be the deciding factor that his character can beat the character of someone else's creation. I remember back before DC started trying to explain Supes powers so they "played nice" with physics, Supes was ultra-powerful.
Now I haven't kept up with DC since Crisis when Supergirl gave up her life to save Superman, so maybe they got away from that, but I know in the CW's Supergirl, they still had that going on...Like Supergirl couldn't fly in space.
But anyway, I was passing through an airport and stopped in one of the little shops and the guy had a number of comics for sale, so I had picked them up. One of them was interesting relating to Superman's power of flight. Superman and Supergirl had to work together to stop a huge asteroid from destroying Earth. Superman was dazed, and when he finally threw off the effects Supergirl was no where to be seen. He's able to calculate which direction Supergirl was thrown after stopping the asteroid so he takes off flying that direction.
He's not seeing her with his vision and he keeps going faster and faster. He going so fast he smashing through barrier after barrier separating the different realities until there is only 1 barrier left. But he sees her up ahead of him at this point and he continues after her. She passes on through this final barrier before he reaches her. He's just about to break it when The Spectre appears before him telling him to stop. But Superman doesn't and collides into him.
He "falls" and lands on a landscape of some kind, and Spectre appears there with him. Supes is pleading with him to let him get her, but Spectre is like "You can't. She's passed through the final veil and no living being may see the other side." Or something to that effect. He breaks down and finally says something like, "You got to save her." And Spectre is like, "All you had to do was ask." And Supergirl appears in his arms.

I think omniman vs metroman from Megamind would be a very cool fight. We never really see metroman’s full potential, but it’s obvious that he is way faster than omniman. Metroman literally sat down and relaxed faster than the speed of light, so he is capable of basically stopping time regardless of momentum. The movie also gives us a pretty good amount of evidence to show that Titan was not nearly as powerful as metroman. I believe that is a much more compelling fight than Superman. Recently, Superman has gotten back to his Pre-Crisis power levels. Superman's speed has been shown lately to be so fast, to the naked eye, it looks like teleportation. They've made some great stories in the past, I believe Invincible has more relatable stories through its character the writer and artists have made.

He is a Paragon. An example of what a human can be when given the power to crush worlds, but choosing not to. The power to crush gods in the palm of his hand without breaking a sweat, but instead, he chooses talking a jumper out of jumping off a building... Man. Superman is awesome.

Yeah sorry but when you say Superman is boring you've already lost the whole convo. Superman could have been considered boring only during the 50s, 60s and early 70s, when he (and comics as a whole) was constrained by the Comics Code Authority (which was basically controlled in large part by... Archie Comics. No really.), which made him into this stodgy, pro-establishment, conservative-ish figure for a time (same thing made Batman and his rogues gallery a corny joke during that time -see the Adam West show).
But then as the Comics Code's limitations gradually went away he slowly got his cred back through some amazing stories by the 80s, like Alan Moore's "For the Man who has Everything" and "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?", and by the time his "death" rolled around he was pretty much back to being the icon we know him as, and he's stayed that way since then. He's not boring, he represents the best of what we are and the best of what we could become. THAT's what it really means to be the Man of Tomorrow.

Thanks for the video! Curious what a discussion around Kryptonite would be from Superman fans. For me I never liked how Superman is basically the most powerful being (or one of the most) ever, but once kryptonite is in the mix anyone could have a fighting chance or beat him. Characters in the Invincible universe have more realistic outcomes in terms of death and tragedy if superheroes were real. So I think it’s feasible if Superman ever crossed paths with a Viltrumite and kryptonite was used, Superman would be killed quickly. I don’t know Superman lore that well, but has he ever killed his villains intentionally (like in the MOS movie). The famous stories I have read, I believe he has a no kill philosophy. Lmk, thanks!

Superman lore doesn't matter... they just keep making up more ridiculous things to add to the character. There have always been other characters in DC more powerful; they put them to the back burner and overscale Superman up. Theoretically, there should be no need for the Justice League or Green Lantern Corps. according to how most Superman iterations are portrayed. Why draw out a fight with Lex that will cost the city hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance and damages if you're powerful enough to punch a hole in a star. End the fight in 3 seconds so everybody can go home.
