i don’t really get why so many people get depressed from Evangelion. It actually helped me cope with severe depression. Sure, the tone and general plot seems very sad and bleak, but the overall message is pretty uplifting and hopeful
There is a term called “every frame a painting”. Evangelion is so cinematic and masterly composed you can pause it almost any time and it’ll look simply amazing

That scene highlights the fatality of man, and tells us about the personal wants and needs (A greediness of sorts.) of the main character. In a pivotal moment, and unlike any other series, it shows the character doing something selfish, not being a saint. It makes it very real.
I am sorry but evangelion is all style over substance.. it’s really not that deep plus Shinji is the only well written character here and asuka too probably
There are way more anime which are grounded in reality and is actually deep unlike Eva which is a clusterfuck of bible symbolisms and rushed pace with a cool song in the ending which everyone orgasms to

Personally I think that the characters are well written, but even if they were not, it would not change the essence of eva, eva is meant to provoke the viewer into self reflection, and so you and your past, you social situation become the story,
This show was one of those moments where a form of media became more than just a story to entertain but also one that transcended the boundaries and allowed a real personal discussion of ourselves and existence. Truly an art that I encourage anyone to partake in

I’ve watched this video a few times, came back to leave a comment. Your edit really matches the tones of the two mediums well. The echoing synth pairs well with the vast, empty artificial landscape. The wide shots angled from below gives a visual effect like old architecture designed to make people feel small. Wow, this video hurts to watch, and it’s absolutely amazing everytime. Fantastic job

Such an amazing edit. I think this is my literal favorite NGE edit. Just the combination of the music and the chosen scenery at certain parts of the song conveys an amazing feeling of mystery and dread.
Evangelion is the type of series that makes you sit in solitude and contemplate about your life even after it has ended. It’s the relatability that makes this anime special. It might not be the most “deep” story ever, but it still hits Damn hard. Emphasis on _damn_ .

This Evangelion show looks really cool! I've been depressed lately and looking for something fun and lighthearted to make me feel better, so this looks right up my alley.
I don't know why this song combined with the anime graphics of that time along with that scene and tone makes me feel depressed, Evangelion really gave me an experience I've never had before. It's really hard to forget the things it brings
