Started playing TF2 in 2020...I feel like I've been through so much, in yet such a small amount of time. Truly a timeless masterpiece, never to truly die.
Unironically nothing better than thinking “oh but surely this super cool edit won’t have my favorite game” and then seeing literally almost all your favorite games that you thought people didn’t care about as much like ori, or Sky, because some people don’t view them as “real games”. I think the only game I frequently play that I didn’t see was warframe XD this edit is awesome because of how many different genres and stories it incorporates to show just how vast gaming is as a storytelling method and a community!
You have no idea how much I love this, this shows all the greatest moments in video game history. To the very first Pong to much more recent hit like Elden Ring and Helldivers 2, without forgeting to include classic like Half-Life, Resident Evil,Halo, Doom and Indie hits like Hollow Knight, Cuphead,The Stanley Parable, Omori & much much more. This should have WAY more views cause this is beautiful
Not to mention more niche games that never really made it to the mainstream. Sky, wandersong, lego city, of all things, and one shot. All great examples.
As a 13 year old, I LOVE old games as well. New games don’t always hit the same, but some do, it’s just that big companies forgot the spirit, while individuals that never worked for a game know how to make a game.
Not a single mention of 'golden era' of gaming, just pure appreciation of the media which is amazing. I like how you put different kinds of genre of games because many games has its own unique artistic vision and that what makes video games so special, diverse, colourful and memorable. Truly, art in modern form. Hats off, Edit of the Year!
Of course anyone can say that: “Oh you forgot this game! You forgot Hotline Miami! You forgot TBOI!” and dozens of others indie games, but your work is priceless. This video slaps!
It even had Sky and Journey... Henry Stickmin, Little Nightmares, Oneshot, Omori, Celeste, Signalis... All in a row. So many of Team Fortress 2, The last of Us and even Assassin's Creed 3 in specific. None shall forget of ULTRAKILL as well! Hollow Knight, Cuphead, Ori. It is indeed, you marked "the best part" perfectly. And there's still so much more of it i just didn't realise i notice. You need to watch it at least twice, maybe thrice even.

I discovered Until Then thanks to this video, I liked it from the few frames I saw here, bought it and played it completely blind and it gave me exactly the feeling you're talking about
I love the fact that tf2 is shown with the other more "modern" games, despite the fact that it came out in 2007. Just goes to show what a timeless masterpiece the game is, and the dedication of the community.
Dude I cannot explain the emotion that this video has given me. A reminder how awesome and vast the greater gaming community is. This is the pinnacle of my 3 am doomscroll, thank you for being some light in this random night lol. Going into my favorites playlist. Hope you're doing well, lad.

This video reminded me of more memories than it should've, childhood memories, my first time playing video games and getting a console, my first time playing online, the amazing stories I saw in video games. Thank you for this video honestly, it was beautiful, and the editing was just AMAZING.
Makes me proud to be a Gamer Thank you for including Half Life, Undertale and Omori🙏🙏🙏 I love them and I wasn't expecting to see them appearing on a Video Game history AMV. Edit: Awesome AMV btw
Some people express certain sadness when we look back at the past and we start to think of the good times, but don't feel bad, be happy because you lived those wonderful moments, and now try your best to help the new generations to feel the same feelings you had at that time. Beautiful video!
based on the title i was fully expecting this to be like "old games were good, but now, games are bad". i'm really glad that my prediction was wrong! the editing was amazing too! great job!
This edit made me really happy. Despite the direction the industry is currently heading in, it was a nice piece of positivity in trying times for the state that gaming is in rn.
It’s absolutely how much we’ve gained over the years, and don’t forget the ones we’ve lost. Rest in peace to those who couldn’t experience what we have now.
@@idkwhattotype511 Yeah, yeah, I know it has a bad rep but I met a lot of great people and friends through that game, and it just got me so immersed into the storyline, the scenery, and the characters. It definitely impacted my life in a way
Having Arthur in the now I'm ready part of the song was honestly the perfect choice that I don't think to many people talk about, Arthur's time nearing with him finally accepting that he shall pass soon giving everything else he has to save John, the way you set everything up was amazing, I hope you get to see this because you truly did an amazing job for such an underrated video. Thank you so much for it!!
You know, sometimes it's just nice remembering past games that you played and enjoyed. Also respect on having variety, I seen lots of people saying stuff like "gaming isn't fun anymore" but I think the problem they have is playing the same game all the time.
Damn... I don't usually comment, but THIS IS REALLY GOOD. No joke, probably the best gaming edit I've seen. Thank you for giving us people this masterpiece. Please make more...
Bro this is fire. Takes me back when I played those games, with family, friends, now just myself. I can reference which games I played during each chapter of mt life! I don't think I'll ever let go of games, it's a memory capsule of being the main character in different settings. Thanks bro, keep making these
Even tho i grew up whitout wifi ,there are games i grew up with and still sticks to me till this day, especially FNAF,Henry Stickman,Undertale, and Lego starwars. Thanks for including them :) Great edit, you got a new subscriber ❤️
Gaming used to be fun. Now it's fun depending on what game you play. I may still be young, but thanks for the nostalgia, it brought a smile to my face even seeing classic games like Halo CE to a small mobile game (Clumsy Ninja) on my screen.
I adored how seamless, passionate and touching this video was to all the video games that had come out both years ago and also now, this needs to be seen by more people. I loved spotting the characters I recognised, like Sonic, Crash Bandicoot or Cash Banoocia as Caddicarus eloquently put it, and I nearly screamed with joy at seeing Alan Wake, I hope you make more of these!
Im actually surprised Skylanders didn't make it on in any capacity, that game was so different and paved the way for so many games in the future, like spyro reignited, amiibo, Disney infinity, etc. This deserves a remake!
Something that elevates this is that it's not like similar compilations that focus on nostalgia, and what's passed. There are classics made all the time. Yours has some modern classics like Signalis etc that have come in recently and made a scalding mark on the gaming community. There's always a new high round the corner. Games are about having fun Take the next ticket, take the next train!
That small cut of A Space For The Unbound, though. Damn. Nearly got those tears from 2 years ago right back in my eyes when I saw the ending. You're a Godsend, man
Every year, there is someone on the Internet that reminds us of how movemental this medium has become over the last 60 years of existence. Have fun when gaming, always.

This edit keeps on getting better and better each time I watch it

i dont see no portal
I don't see any Infamous game
I don't see Manhunt
Just add Portal and the Yakuza franchise and it will become 100% perfection
It's really a golden experience for us
It's crazy how in 6000 years of civilization, we're the honoured one to experience these games.
An entire new media, since like 30 years
Elden Ring, RDR2 and LOS back to back really got me man. Those games are something else.
I'm familiar with most of this stuff but I never expected mf Clumsy Ninja to appear at 1:57 my god
I love that goofy game
I had a good time with this game lmao
man I love that game
Man, this edit is great and clumsy ninja is just the best
Dude I cannot explain the emotion that this video has given me. A reminder how awesome and vast the greater gaming community is. This is the pinnacle of my 3 am doomscroll, thank you for being some light in this random night lol. Going into my favorites playlist. Hope you're doing well, lad.

When I saw Signalis and Cytus II, I screamed "People know these games?!"
I love this video. Thank you.

i was so caught offguard when i saw ivy from the game intro here - but thats also when i knew this was a REALLY good video that was about, truly, living in the moment
still though, cytus’s intro is just. chefs kiss. if i see any frame of it anywhere you know im gonna be surprised and double back to it HAHA
@@Inspironing Oh, for sure. It also really helped me understand the story as I didn't get it at all for like my first ten hours or so. That alone makes it peak. x)

the omori, oneshot, celeste, signalis scene was perfect
AHHH i cant believe "until then" was mentioned too! it's still a relatively new game, such a fun, touching story based in the philippines
I relate to this very much as well
On my knees weeping at this sight, I even saw Sky: Children of the Light and Journey in the mix. Honestly the best gaming edit I’ve ever seen, actually beautiful!

This video reminded me of more memories than it should've, childhood memories, my first time playing video games and getting a console, my first time playing online, the amazing stories I saw in video games.
Thank you for this video honestly, it was beautiful, and the editing was just AMAZING.

Some people express certain sadness when we look back at the past and we start to think of the good times, but don't feel bad, be happy because you lived those wonderful moments, and now try your best to help the new generations to feel the same feelings you had at that time.
Beautiful video!
This has a similar feeling to the quote of "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened" - Dr. Seuss but expanded!
Thank you for this :)
@@TheNubKnight No problem at all :D

based on the title i was fully expecting this to be like "old games were good, but now, games are bad". i'm really glad that my prediction was wrong! the editing was amazing too!

I have deep respect for ending with Rayman
Plus the sheer mention of Until Then shows me your a real one.
I don't know why that game has stuck with me so much, rip Arthur.
You know, sometimes it's just nice remembering past games that you played and enjoyed.
Also respect on having variety, I seen lots of people saying stuff like "gaming isn't fun anymore" but I think the problem they have is playing the same game all the time.
niko oneshot pfp spotted, also ya i agree
I agree with Niko
Damn... I don't usually comment, but THIS IS REALLY GOOD. No joke, probably the best gaming edit I've seen. Thank you for giving us people this masterpiece. Please make more...

The Last of us as the first game for 2020 is wild
its the last of us remake :) and I only used it because I used most of the games of the 9th generation in the part right after it
I love how its not directed towards a particular company but instead towards gaming as a whole. Video Games are revolutionary forms of entertainment.

Gaming used to be fun. Now it's fun depending on what game you play. I may still be young, but thanks for the nostalgia, it brought a smile to my face even seeing classic games like Halo CE to a small mobile game (Clumsy Ninja) on my screen.
The best videogame edit that I've ever seen
I adored how seamless, passionate and touching this video was to all the video games that had come out both years ago and also now, this needs to be seen by more people. I loved spotting the characters I recognised, like Sonic, Crash Bandicoot or Cash Banoocia as Caddicarus eloquently put it, and I nearly screamed with joy at seeing Alan Wake, I hope you make more of these!
god this gave me chills omg
i absolutely love it, no disrespect or hatred towards any games, just games, all genres
absolute peak
Im actually surprised Skylanders didn't make it on in any capacity, that game was so different and paved the way for so many games in the future, like spyro reignited, amiibo, Disney infinity, etc. This deserves a remake!
Skylanders was actually pretty good, should’ve added it :(
@@TheNubKnight just remember next time!
did NOT expect Cytus II or Clumsy Ninja, those were THE mobile games I played back then
based taste
Something that elevates this is that it's not like similar compilations that focus on nostalgia, and what's passed. There are classics made all the time. Yours has some modern classics like Signalis etc that have come in recently and made a scalding mark on the gaming community. There's always a new high round the corner. Games are about having fun
