i like the idea of ranni having red hair on her actual corpse like radagon but her doll body has blue form that resemble her mother and the moon
Also in Ranni armor description, it is said that she modelled her doll body after her secret mentor, a snowy witch deep in the woods
@@hehe-tw6jl It's not directly stated, but I believe Torrent belonged to Ranni's former Master the Snow Witch. Ranni says she respects Torrents former master, she also gives you the spirit calling bell. Torrent is a Spectral Steed. I think the Snow Witch was gifted in summoning dead spirits.
Ranni's doll (her body, so to speak) is based on her mentor, the Snow Witch (presumably named Renna), not her mother (Rennala).
@@dougiejones1051 ik but she's is so close to her mother she even fights you in rennala's second phase it's also a shame that there is 0 dialogue with rennala about anything after you defeat her

something i find fascinating, which is backed by marika's hammer and the intro cutscene, is that radagon and marika _can disagree._
marika smashed the ring and radagon tried to repair it, and if we take the intro literally, it seems like between swings on the elden ring they would wrestle for control of their shared body.
that implies to me that either radagon was originally an independent person who marika absorbed or that radagon is a budding split from marika that grew to enjoy its freedom and couldn't be fully reabsorbed.
From what I understand is that since Marika is the vessel of the Elden Ring, she created Radagon by separating a Great Rune from it, the XXXX parts we see behind Radagon's statue. We never obtain this rune but some people believe it's the Rune of Order. This would make Radagon literally Order incarnate and be loyal without a fault to the Golden Order, while Marika might have split that rune from herself willingly in order to have some leeway.
Cut Mimic Tear Quest should tell you what's happening.
One of the best things about elden rings lore is that there a full scale alien invasion just happening in the background, entirely unrelated to the Main plot and just barely touched on by Rannis quest.
Stars are aliens in the elden ring universe, this is backed up by the Elden beast aswell as the Astel/Fallingstar beast species. Rahdann forcing the stars to freeze was inadvertently preventing the Lands between from being pelted with Aliens capable of terraforming entire lands without effort.
What's scarier is that the Inhabitant of the Meteor that crashed into Limbgrave is never found in game. It's just out there somewhere in Nokron, Waiting.

@@Nate_Mones Astel is underneath the Moonlight Alter, not Limgrave. So unless it crawled all the way there itself, the one in Limgrave is still unaccounted for.

I think it's kept ambiguous on purpose (because in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter I guess) but my opinion on the whole Marika/Radogan thing is that they were always a single being. Marika did some funky illusion-magic business and married Rennala.
In Malenia's remembrance it says that she and Miquella were Empyreans because they were born from a single god and because of this they had afflictions at birth.
My understanding of this phrase is that they were born from a single godly parent (Marika) and due to this form of "self-incest" they were born with a bunch of issues. This is a bit meta maybe, but we know that George Martin had a hand in writing some of this stuff and Game of Thrones has a bunch of incest related stuff in the plot, so there's precedent for this kind of writing.
Or you can just toss all this garbage I just said out of the window and go with the safest most logical explanation: Marika couldn't resist giant mommy Rennala and HAD to go and get some even if it meant stopping a war and shapeshifting into a different being.
It's very likely that Radagon and Marika were the same being even when the former married Rennala. That Radahn, Rykard and Ranni are legit demigods notwithstanding, you also have the fact that Radagon was known to have a secret even during his first marriage. The Mask of Confidence has its mouth sewn shut by golden thread and shows that 'When Radagon married Rennala, he ordered the Carian magic preceptors to don these masks. To make it clear that all of their matters were to be kept strictly private.'
I understood the whole Radagon/Marika thing as basically God, jesus, and the Holy spirit. Beings who are themselves but also each other. Jesus was God, but also his son, and a killable man.
In Hinduism too , Shiv and sati male and female respectively are said to be same "entities" but are also different god and goddess at the same time .

Radagon and Marika are like God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit or the Seven from ASOIAF, 2 aspects of the same being, separate yet also one and the same.
My theory is that marika and radagon are secret twins, just think about it, it would complete a trio of twins, Malenia and miquella, mogh and morgott, marika and radagon, it would explain the curses, maybe they were the consequenses of an incestuos relationship. It would take some explaining of course

The interesting thing is - people of the lands between have never seen iconic crusified on rune arc Marika by Golden Order inside the Erdtree, how it is became a symbol?
Ig crucifixion is popular or the greater will is just hiring people to sculpt Marika's punishment in order to flex

I dunno, fromsoft does things very deliberately. when we slay the elden beast, it says God Slain. Now unless that was meant for radagon that means we did infact slay a god at the end in some shape or form.
why does marika has a scar on her shoulder similar to the one on godwyn's body ?
Their body broke apart when it was used to shatter the ring.

It is implied that Marika and Radagon are not entirely the same being or at least were not always.
Two bodies, two minds, ONE soul. They share the same soul but have their own thoughts, opinions and personalities. My headcanon is that later after Marika broke the Elden Ring the Elden Beast had Radagon who was fiercely loyal to it merge with Marika, truly becoming one in both body and soul - but not in mind, not yet at least. The Elden Beast then had Radagon fight a battle of wills with Marika inside the body and because he was also buffed by the Elden Beast there was really no way for Marika to win, but she COULD stall, and stall she did - for decades, even centuries. Until of course - we arrive and slay Radagon who managed to suppress Marika's will for but a moment to fight us - but after we defeat the Elden Beast, Radagon's source of power is gone and Marika could now easily squash him like a bug as only she was a god, while Radagon was not.
This is my thoughts as well, I think its supported by the fact Elden Beast turns Radagon into a sword and after the fight Marika is the only thing left.

let's make something extremly clear. Marika and Radagon are NOT the same person. We don't know if they always shared the same body or if it was done by the greater will but they are unquestionably 2 very different people. if nothing else, the fact that 1 turned on the greater will while the other didn't make this an unquestionable fact.
Well you could argue they each represent one of the two different central dogmas of the Golden Order, and their fight is the culmination of the inherent contradiction within. One is Regression and one is Causality.

Radagon was a seperate being that was absorbed into marika. Radagon was a fire giant. Its the reason for his red hair, and the reason why radahn is so big. Marika didnt defeat the god of the fire giants, she made a deal instead, or possibly radagon is the fire giant god.
Didn't a lore of an item description of some kind stated that radagon despised his red hair cuz the giants cursed him or something?
Lots of people question how Radagon and Marika being the same can sire children together. I take a page from the books of D&D. Marika is a god. If she wants to have two of herself in a different image, then so it shall be.

As much as I like Vaati, I must admit, this video is... not... good. Like at all. He's made some corrections himself, but even more so, I think most of the things he's not gone back on are also wrong, surprisingly.

Cringe opinion
It’s always cringe looking back at Vaatis original videos on the games when new theories and come out later. Listening to his predictions in original Dark Souls and dark souls 3 lore videos became super cringe when the DLCs came out for those respective games and theories he sounded so sure of were laughably wrong.
I also lost respect for vaati when it was revealed that he’s basically just a glorified Reddit aggregator, compiling all of the lore that other people have scoured and not doing much of that detective work on his own. He got exposed when it was revealed that his Bloodborne video was a complete rip off of “The Paleblood Hunt” by RUclipsr Redmane who published the entire lore of the game on Reddit for free- hours and hours of work. Vaati took it, almost line for line, and made his Bloodborne videos and did not credit redmane. I’m not sure if he has credited him since, but vaati has made literally millions of dollars building his channel around other peoples work. His videos ARE incredible, but he hardly deserves the credit.

@@maxeon0937 a lot of people *underestimate* how much youtubers make. When the twitch leak happened, no one expected that your average 1000 viewer streamer is making over $20k a month- and it was revealed that your average youtuber makes even more. Vaati is most definitely making an easy 200-500k just off ad revenue and royalties from his catalog of videos alone. This doesn’t even factor in sponsorships, patreon and streaming on the side (which he does from time to time). He has also published a book of soulsborne art.
Yeah it sounds wild because he's just full of shit. I've never liked Vaati's lore analyses and this one is so far off the mark I'd be astounded if he'd actually beaten the game before making it.
