  • So I'm an idiot and agreed that Amber can take her 1968 Pontiac Ambulance on the 2024 Hot Rod Power Tour! It needs some things. It needs to quit allowing gallons of water to pour into its interior. That requires auto bodywork which I know nothing about! I'm awful! Soooo... let's learn how to do it all wrong together! This is just the beginning! Stay tuned for more!

I'd rather they be an hour or more. Takes me a couple weeks to make them though. Hell of a lot easier on my blood pressure this way. Lol

When working in grass or gravel keep an old speaker around. Just drag the magnet around real quick to find those dropped tiny screws and clips.

I actually have one of those rolling magnets. Just never got it out to use it. I did find the clip 2 days later lol

I believe the Pontiac Ambulances were based on the Pontiac Bonneville. One of the company's that made them was Superior Coach Company in Ohio. They made Cadillac ambulances also. There was another company that made ambulances around that time but I don't remember who it was.

    Good morning 🌄 Jay
    Very helpful vlog
I'm not going to critique you
I thought this was very interesting
I've walked away from many potential project cars ,
Simply because of , roof rot / corrosion
It's not like you can scroll through the AMD catalog and score a fresh stamped roof sink , for a vintage ambulance
Those 1/8" thick strips were a good idea 💡 to maintain roof height off of , the inner roof supports structures

Pop off the trim around the front windshield and put in rope style butyl instead of silicone it's a gray compound that doesn't dry up and it will adhere better than silicone and if you ever have to replace the glass you'll have a much better experience cleaning it up because once you put silicone on something it destroys the surface and doesn't allow anything else to stick to it

    • @IrishOutlawGarage
      @IrishOutlawGarage  7 месяцев назад +2

I actually was going to pull the trim. But the pins wanted to come with it. It needs a lot more work around the windshield than I'm personally ready for lol

don't worry about the pin holes. that's why you use a thin skim layer of bondo to take care of that. from one trucker to another, you're doing a good job. are you an O/O? i was for 10 years. 2003 to 2013. first truck was a 2000 t600 3406E 13sp. traded it for 2006 w900L c15 18sp.

  • @darrylowens9298

I like it myself. Think you did an ok job. I’d try some flex seal on a scrap pieces of car body. I suspect if you put that stuff on with a foam roller with very thin coats it would turn out quite slick. I used some the other day on a tin roof course I slopped it on but I noticed the can lid got some on it and when it dried it was super slick and uniform.

It may have been easier to cut the rain gutter off and weld a strip from end to end. Then fiberglass the roof. I'd love to find one of these wagons. Looks cooler than a standard wagon with all the storage.
