- I need to start getting Blanche, my 1976 Ford Ranchero 500, ready for the 2024 Hot Rod Power Tour. I only have two weeks left, so I crawl underneath and discover the bell housing is cracked - never a dull moment around here! This is going to get pretty nasty I'm not very happy. To top everything off, while test driving, I get pulled over by the Cops! Argh!!!

Top work I know it gets stressful just go and enjoy power tour now both cars a just about finished. Enjoy from the UK.
Gonna try!
It's always good to come across a car, like a Ford Ranchero, that gets some well deserved love. These cars seem to get overlooked into what they really are, which is an awesome platform to build off of. Glad to see the car is running well, other than a few "minor" issues!
Awesome video, and love the cop part lol
Glad you enjoyed
What's up with these viewers!? Great content so you should be 50k plus subscribers! Not to mention the pole barn garage collaborations! One of my favorite channels. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! Ya know I'm not real sure about why I'm not at least seen more. Maybe that will change someday 👍
A couple of videos ago, a live from your rig, you sounded pretty discouraged. I love that dark sense of humor you have, but that live seemed different. I'm glad you seem to have decided you aren't giving up on this youtube channel. I was worried you might. 7K subs isn't bad, for the relatively short amount of time you've been at it. You're very entertaining and knowledgeable and I appreciate you. Have a good one!
Thankyou! I never give up. Just sometimes gotta take a step back and take a breath
Never fails you hit the gas and boom there is a cop I think they just want your autograph lol
Some just wanna check out the car lol
Haha now THAT is an excellent opening Sir! Digging the shirt as well ;) Another year out there on the road for some adventures on Power Tour!
Can't wait to see ya my brotha!
Glad my Power Tour prep isn't as crazy as yours (fingers crossed!) Hope to see you out there! Safe travels!
Oh, it gets worse lol
Uncle once said to me,"Boy, you've got Murphy blood in your veins." I think that saying applies here.
Agreed!
Yeah. That coil should help keep it cool. Heck yeah, that's why it's called positive crankcase ventilation. But that was good info to know
Jay use a rubber glove over the tail shaft To catch the oil coming out , and prevent a mess. I saw this done once on another U Tube show but never again, and do not remember who did it.
Love the Dan and Dani Speed Shop shirt , you need one of the collard gatage shirts for Sunday dress up !!
Love Dan and Dani. Great peeps
Good job ! Glad ur ready to go , I would love to go on one!
Keep it going Jay, you are doing a great job. Hope you have a great Power Tour.
Thanks!
Awesome video JAY. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible day. Much love and RESPECT
Have a blast dude!!
You guys coming? I've been so busy with my garbage I haven't been able to keep up.
@@IrishOutlawGarage not this year! We've got a lot on the go! So have extra fun for us!
@moreschmoo that's to bad! Maybe see ya next year. I'm sure it'll be a blast. 2 cars to break down and parts are unobtainium for both lol.
I fought with an FMX in my 1979 Thunderbird for ages trying to get those damn studs to line up just right with the flexplate... nice to see someone has found a better way.
FMX's are extremely reliable but are as temperamental as a Catholic wife.
@@IrishOutlawGarage For sure... I only had to rebuild it once in the 100,000 miles I had it... and that was as a neutral-dropping asshat of a teenager. I was surprised it lasted as long as it did with the abuse.
Aye Brother
Thanks!!
No, thank you
Dang transmissions I passed old lady once in old Chevy twisted ujoint into on rear end. All hell broke loose cracking transmission Blum into basically pan was only thing holding it one long walk home 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 grandma wins that race lol 😂
Is the bellhousing cracking a common problem on FMX's or do you just have that much power?
Dumb luck probably
Misel get som high temp coppa rtv too, stop leak for header pipe connection.
Have some. Problem is the pipes are rusted through where they cluster together
@@IrishOutlawGarage Bondo and paint will getcha where ya ain't.
If you don't get pulled over, you did it wrong.
There's nothing wrong with an FMX, they;re just not easy for parts. The predecessor to AOD. Never figured out the myth on being able to jump start them (pop the clutch, sort of...) like a manual.
I had no Idea
First like and comment on a video woot woot 😂😂😂
I heard that power tour for this year 2024 was canceled or had been canceled but I don’t know really if that is true though just what I has seen ether on facebook or RUclips
Nope starts Monday
Which transmission do you like better? The FMX or the C6?
I dunno, if parts were more available the FMX is tried and true. C6 can take more punishment but causes more drag on the engine
Sir do you know why i pulled you over? Only acause i fixed The transmission seals, found a non cracked bell housing. I tell ya officer any day you can get a broken bolt out with your fingers, she's a good day. The u joints on it weren't bad but sure weren't that good.
I have used the line "because I let you?" before.
@@IrishOutlawGarage The one i was amazed with was the shifty eyed probably speeding? Not sure how that worked but hey It helps to read the room.
D8d water get in and freeze how did it crack?
Not sure. Probably torque and the fact I had it out 5 times, factory defect.... who knows
I've got my 73 mustang in a shop east coast scotland I live in west got nowhere to work on my own car except a sloped driveway which I did manual gearbox change in morris minor in the snow last Christmas too dangerous for the big car hat off to u u must have done 5 transmission and manual gbox swaps since I subscribed last year or so
@ham4008 shed siding, plywood...etc... whatever it takes
Get rid of that electronic Ignition crap and put points back in it that will solve your timing issue. Trust me I know.
Never had points. In fact the typically melted Duraspark box is still in it lol
Of course sealing up the vacuum leaks helps, also.
Yeah they were pretty bad
