Rolling on Tractor Paint ~ Pontiac Prep for Power Tour PART 3

- Things are rolling now on the 1968 Pontiac Superior Ambulance prep for Hot Rod Power Tour 2024! Well, the paint is rolling, anyway! I suffer through cheap paint and crappy quality rollers, but in the end, the roof is looking pretty good. I also hit the blue with some SOS pads to knock off the oxidation and it really wakes up the paint. This is also in prep for applying some Poppy's Patina in an upcoming episode.

That car is looking great the top is good and the fact you are trying to keep is dry inside is what it is all about. tell Zeppy we all wish him a happy birthday., glad you were there to spend it with him.
Best wishes to Zepp. You’re a good father Jay.
He’s looking great, good job Jay. Please tell Zeppy happy birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ZEPPY!
Me, you and most of my friends would get along great! This has got to be the best backyard build ever!!! I’ve never used that first paint you started with but I’ve used Vansickle and it it doesn’t turn out too bad. The car is looking great and can’t wait for more content. May your glass always be full!!!
Looks much more better than what was there plus no more rain leaking inside the car.
Looking right and tight, Sir! Awesome job, coming right along.
Keep it up jay!!! You work like the rest of us
Happy Birthday Zep!!!

The wife and I will be at bowling green and Nashville. It's going to be our anniversary trip a month before our anniversary lol
Glad my extremely small contribution with my membership helped to give Zeppy a great present
Go with the flow
Looks ok one thing about primer just put a light coat down first then come back with the next coat and it will stick and look much better

Good stuff. Now I know how I'm going to paint my "White Trash" project.
It works lol
Great improvement. You've helped it out a lot. Just bought an Artemus shirt, in purple! It looks sick! Can't wait. Happy birthday Zeppy!
Thank you! I have a new merch deal coming soon!
Happy birthday Zepp!
Odd thought... those clips look like the ones they use on the 55-57 chevy wide trim.
When I do Chassis with the implement pain, I spay them with a harbor fright gun and show it away when I am done. Just an idea for the future. Can't wait for power tour!!!
I don't have a compressor to keep up with a gun. I have one. Plus this actually worked pretty dang good lol.
@@IrishOutlawGarage I might have to see how it brushes on under uncle buck. Would be nice to not have the overspray around my shop. 😂
@@AutoAli just use a good roller. Mine were garbage
Cars looking good jay. Also love to hear some jackyl!
Thanks!
Awesome job Jay. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible day.
Thanks!
Well that's good information to know I was getting ready to paint a toolbox with that same paint with the hardener cuz I thought that's what ole pole barn garage used so anyway thanks for the heads up
Yeah, the town and country is not Van Sickle I don't believe. They carry the Rustoleum at Menards
All of the oil based tractor paints can take weeks to cure, depending on how thick it is and the temperature.
Looks a lot better!
Thanks for video!!
Thanks for watching!
12:45 into the video in my opinion your test panel looks great for what you’re doing. I think you’re right that perhaps a roller would lay it out better, more even and maybe less runs. Looking forward to the rest of the vid to see if you go that route and how it turns out. I know you just filled the holes in the roof but I think it would be cool if you could find a revolving dome light that you could rig up with black lights and have some black lights in the ambulance with you. No telling what one would cost to find an adapt though.
I had a period correct rotator becon sent to me. But UPS Destroyed it.
@@IrishOutlawGarage aw man! I hate it when that happens! Here they used to be really reliable and we had a great driver on our route. Now their service has really suffered. Sad thing is they deliver all of our refrigerated meds and NEVER on time. We’ve had thousands of dollars in meds go bad and have to be replaced for temperature abuse from being brought many hours and even days late. Don’t know how they’re staying insured or even in business for that matter.
You do you if anyone doesn't like it, screw them ❤the content bless you and yours
Thanks!
Amber should really like what you did to her car.
Under that trim on top is like putty tape like they used on windows etc. i'am pretty sure.
Yep, it's a urethane tape
I have one of the Irish outlaw shirts I wish you had long sleeve available.
I'll have an announcement on merch real soon
Yeah haw outside painting is best lets it air out lol 😂 flys and rain no fun tho
Paint definitely has bugs in it to help support the roof
