While you are at it, Watchtower Society and Jehovah's Witnesses, how about dropping your shunning policy against victims of sexual abuse they suffered as children in your congregations? The victims did nothing to bring that suffering upon themselves. Punish the sexual abusers instead, and it can be done by reporting them to police, which should have been done as soon as this crime has occurred. Thank you, Robin, for shining light on the Watchtower Society's unjust shunning policy and other wrongful practices.

How many sexual abusers do you know in the JW organization? I have been around for over 50years and traveled worldwide and know no one in the JW organization that has been accused of sexual abuse. If sexual abuse was as ramped as you all say it is I should have crossed paths of some of them. Worldwide the stats show about 1 billion children suffering from physical, sexual and mental abuse. JWs have nothing to do with wicked people and those who practice gross sin with no remorse or repentance is a wicked person according to the bible. Those who have a change of heart and are willing to admit the mistake and repent are not wicked. If a JW saw a disfellowshipped person laying in the ditch would they walk on the other side of the street? Absolutely not!! Out of love they would assist a disfellowshipped person as in the Samaritan.
Millions in the religion are leaving and people on the outside are seeing through the internet how controlling and damaging this cult is. They need to soften their manmade rules to try and keep people in. It doesnt matter the control will still continue.

FYI - JWs are a spiritually clean people - apostates cannot dictate who will eventually be judged as a sheep or a goat - that time is yet to come.
Anyone who infiltrates the organization for the purpose of causing disruption and spreading lies will eventually be rooted out and exposed, just as Judas was - imposters will advance from bad to worse, yet their judgement will come - many saying 'Lord, Lord .. will be rejected'
Will hardened apostates be shown mercy?
Who knows - though even King Manasseh was repentant towards the end of his life with positive results.

Of course, even here the Society ignores the context, its claims to the contrary notwithstanding. "The teaching of the Christ" is cited at 2 John 7: "For many deceivers have gone forth into the world, persons not confessing Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist." (NW 1984 edition) For the Christian, it's not a question of Christ's first advent as being in the flesh. As far as the Christian is concerned, that's established doctrine. (Notice that I did not mention historical evidence; I merely mentioned doctrine.) The emphasis is on Christ's second coming. It is said that John was in attendance at the meeting during which Christ ascended to heaven. As such, he would have heard the angels say: "This Jesus who was received up from you into the sky will come thus in the same manner as you have beheld him going into the sky." (Acts 1:11,NW 1984 edition) Given the Christian doctrine that Christ was resurrected and subsequently ascended into heaven bodily, John would have understood Christ's return to be bodily, "in the flesh". Consequently, John would have had a bodily second coming in mind when he wrote of "persons not confessing Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh".
While the Society does teach that Christ has returned A. D. 1914, yet it denies that such was "in the flesh". Rather the Society contends that this return was invisible, spiritual. The Society's claim, therefore, is both undemonstrable and unfalsifiable and, as such, is without merit from even the Christian vantage point. As a result, the Society misinterprets 2 John 9-11, both in the passage itself and in context. It is those who profess to hold to "the teaching of the Christ" and yet are "not confessing Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh" the second time whom the writer describes as 'pushing ahead' and 'not having God'. These are the ones of whom he writes: "If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, never receive him into your homes or say a greeting to him. For he that says a greeting to him is a sharer in his wicked works." (Vss. 10,11, NW 1984 edition) The Society clearly "does not bring this teaching". If the Society insists upon applying this text to "apostates", it condemns itself as an apostate organization given the context.

They have practiced harsh shunning for at least 74 years, arguing that it was based on scriptural reasoning, then denied their practice of it when challenged by multiple courts throughout the world, and now, they are telling their Christian Congregations who profess having such high morals and scruples and who claim to follow in Jesus' footsteps, to basically, treat people like Christ would!
The manipulation is just so blatant and obvious. And they are only doing it because they are bleeding financial support due to their high control cult ways. Just like, I've learned, the Mormons and others are doing now. Loosening their guidelines in order to appease a populace that has caught onto them, all for the sake of money. A baptized member of the JW organization who commits a gross sin and does not repent is the same as a wicked person and must be removed from the congregation. Satan is considered a wicked person. So, does a true Christian have any dealings with wicked people? Not according to the scriptures. If a baptized member of the JW organization commits a gross sin and humbly repents there is no removal and he or she is forgiven by God and not considered a wicked person. Obviously, someone who comes back to the meetings most likely would not be showing wicked tendencies except apostates who might sneak into the congregation in an attempt to deceive others. They eventually get exposed. Also remember the JW organization is not filled with perfect people. They make mistakes on a daily basis in word and action. For that reason, we never follow men, we always show love and have a good understanding of God's word the bible.
How you know about multiple court cases worldwide is questionable. You did not get that from the JW organization.
I can show you many scriptures on how a Christian must conduct themselves around people who do not want to follow Christian rules and what constitutes wicked conduct. Bad association spoil useful habits.

The JW organization puts out an olive branch and you call them hypocrites and despicable. Now that pretty much tells the story doesn't it. The JW organization is looking for those who are humble enough to admit they made a mistake and are willing to follow God's rule book. JWs also recognize that all of us are free moral agents by design and that the true God allows us that freedom.

It makes me feel guilty that I haven't done more to help trapped victims whose family access is held hostage. Even while typing this it blows me away that we're even IN this situation. This made up term of "The governing body" makes me want to vomit! As a former JW for 55 years of my life; and ex-elder, ex-Bethelite; it took me a year out thru an unscriptural expulsion to actually read and examine the context of not just Acts 15, but the chapters before and after that chapter. If you actually READ WHAT HAPPENED, you find that the apostles and congregation members around Syria, Antioch, Judea, and the Greek colonies of the time DID NOT CORRESPOND WITH A CENTRAL BODY OF MEN!! The apostle Paul was directly chosen by Jesus Christ! Ananias was chosen by an angel! Phillip was directed by an angel! Stephen was directed by Jesus himself and angelic visions! Paul started his preaching 3 years before ever coming to Jerusalem to meet the other apostles. Then I believe it was another 13 years before being asked to come to Jerusalem over the circumcision issue!
The subsequent letters of Peter, James and John describe many other faithful Christian men and women without reference to being accountable for their beliefs as dictated by any group of men!

I technically am a baptized jw. I personally left the congregation when I was 23. Because I had a very primal instinct that this was no longer a pursuit I wanted to endeavor. As I became more distant, the elders became more watchful of me. And I noticed that. I felt sooo uncomfortable with their reaching out . The intentions felt unclear . I just stopped going . And now I’m 27 and I realize wow how my young adult hood had been so molded by this religion and I’m so thankful I left while still being moldable and open minded and still have a moldable future . Personally I think all religion is a plague . But ones that impose social control of any kind, passive or not, should be infiltrated. I was so afraid of losing my family but I didn’t . I just stopped going. And simply just that was SO STRESSFUL. I’m thankful they have strong minds and aren’t “sheep” . life is too short to be a sheep. Or depend on a skydaddy to make you happy . I happy that more and more of gen z are seeing past this and seeking other useful outlets in life .

The only change they are making now is you can greet Dfed ones at Kingdom Halls, which really isn't much of change for before you could say hi . If you were a teen who got Dfed while still being adolescent their parents and family are instructed to not associate or talk to them, that hasn't changed. This is the reason why Norway unregistered their religious organization stopping any financial benefits. Their actions regarding DFing was seen as a violation toward human rights of choice for individuals .

As a baptized publisher and MS back then, I always spoke to everyone. Just was the right thing to do. It's funny how everyone is your " brother " or " sister " until they mess up. That's just not how REAL families work. And should have never been how ANY religion works. If we say people family, stand on it. Through good and bad times. None of us are perfect. But it's nice to see Jehovah is cleaning up some of these man made rules in these congregations and governing bodies. After all, if love is truly the identifying mark of true Christianity, let's act like it and show some common courtesy, a few manners, and common sense🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔. That admonition to not say a greeting to a person clearly applies to those who will not accept that Jesus was God's son, that he was the Messiah, Redeemer and King, and God's appointed leader over the congregation! Dipweeds! Yes, Christ's teachings were also mentioned there. But the 40 rules or so for DF'ing someone and shunning them don't always have anything to do with teachings of Christ!!😂😆

Alot of talk about how Jehovah dealt with sinners; but NO talk about how Jesus our King dealt with sinners???? The 'prodigal son", parable, the "good Samaritan" parable, his treatment of prostitutes on several occasions, and his view of "apostate Samaritans"; actually reaching out and talking to them; his dining with known sinners and corrupt tax collectors; all show the depth of his love and mercy toward these types of people.
So as long as the GB says it's ok to use your Bible trained conscience,,,then it's ok? How do JWs not see they have placed themselves above God's authority?

Watchtower has done this before...twice before, if the ex-JW who told me is correct. But Watchtower went even further...
In the May 1974 "Awake!" I think it was, there was an article on how a "True Christian" should be kind and loving and compassionate, like Jesus. That Jesus would show compassion to a sick or lost sheep.
This article went on about how JWs should reach out in love to DFd ones, see how they're doing, offer them rides to the meetings and conventions.
So many JWs reconnected with their DFd friends and family members...it was a beautiful thing. For a while.
A few months later, there was a rather nasty and cold article going back to the old shunning ways; that "those who left Jehovah" were "wicked enemies of God," and that those "loyal to Jehovah" should have nothing to do with His enemies.
There were many broken hearts 💔, and many tears😢.

Watchtower has, by its arbitrary rules, systematically stripped its members of their humanity. And now as it suits their needs (financial) they try to dole it back in small increments (i.e. “you can say hello but only hello.”) Please people don’t fall for this. Take back your humanity. And all I can say really is that ultimately Jehovah through his son Jesus will choose who goes survives Armageddon. And you all may very well survive at the last moment. But remember, that's just the first step. We got 1000 years after that and then the final destruction for those who still oppose Jah. There's a long way to go still
