I left back in 1985 after 27 yrs of being a JW. No Internet or other ways of researching the organization. But the lack of brotherly love when my husband was disfellowshipped for adultery was enough to raise serious doubts. All my life I had been faithful, even having parts in assemblies and Bible dramas. This exposed the cracks in the foundation, that made me realize they weren’t true people of God. I had also always been bothered by their demeaning attitude of other Christian’s faiths. It didn’t make sense to me that God only recognized one Christian faith. It seemed that many individuals were living by Bible standards and worshiped God and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It wasn’t until 2017 that I began to discover the many channels on you tube, where many new truths were revealed. The ARC investigation was absolutely flabbergasting to me, then to discover they had been members of the United Nations. I absolutely couldn’t believe it. With memories of the wild beast and the harlot on its back, specifically being identified as Christendom which encompassed all religions, except JW’s. How pompous could they be? So much hypocrisy in their history, which continues to be exposed as each year progresses. I only wish I had gotten my parents to awaken before they passed away. Good news is that only one of my siblings still remains in. But his only child has left as well. At this point no grandchildren are being raised JW. In fact two of my great nephews attend Catholic School. God has served us well.
Yes this happened to me too. I started noticing things too about 7 years ago. So I kept going. Then things turned worse and worse. Lack of love, hypocrisy judgemental attitudes. Start research and I said oh my goodness they used to be a part of the UN all the CSA cases it was they want to keep a a squeaky clean image.
The shift in their understanding of the generation that 'will never die' (in the mid-90s) was the beginning of the end for me. I stayed in the organisation for a while after that, but I had no zeal anymore. I started missing meetings more often and I had faded completely by the end of 1997.
Mike render continues to persecute former Scientologist, especially those that he knew were CSA. He was one of the people while in the kept them silenced and abused and he continues to do so now that he’s out. He and Leah Remini have just created a new version of Scientology.
It is so nice to see other ex JWs tell their reasons why they left this religion. I left too because I also realized the GB was and is just lying to their members.

It took me till 2018 to officially leave but was happening slowing from the announcement that the governing body was not anointed nor infallible..I guess I'm a slow learner. Much much more went on but it's exhausting

I've often been intrigued by how black South Africans were convinced to join the JW cult when it openly followed the apartheid rules even at bethel where black South Africans lived in separate quarters and had to act like servants to the white bethelites...they had their meals in the kitchen while the white bethelites had their meals in the dining room... Brother Muller of the South Africa branch told it all in his life experience in the Watchtower..but of course they said they were only obeying the government.. something they did not do in Malawi, Eritrea and other African countries where the Governing Body sets up the Jws on a collision course with Government resulting in "persecution".

Yes they do, but only financially. All the old timers are passing away so they can't get anymore money from their estates. Many people have left this religion and have changed their wills. They aren't recruiting new members with any money/resources so yes...hence the selling of the Kingdom Halls. That's my 2 cents
I'm happy for you that you left. I'm not ex-JW but live in a city where they're constantly knocking on our doors. I decided to do my own investigation and learnt very quickly that it's a cult. And many people are leaving the cult because it's destructive. I still find it hard to believe that people see God in such an unloving way.
Every single day that goes by is one day closer to the Lord's day. If I am still alive when it comes, I will be exceptionally happy to see it, make it or not. Seeing Jesus and the boys will be the Grandeur of His Father's Glorious Day, and have the full surety in His words that He has a genuine longing to resurrect all those that loved Him.

I left after 60 years!! I grew up in it ! My grandparents, mother and oldest siblings were part of it !! During the lockdown because of the pandemic, I researched and found out so many lies,false prophecies and false information!! When you know better you supposed to do better and not make excuses! My family wouldn’t listen to what I found, so they stayed and I left!!
Yes you are right. Those who leave are not that kind of sheep described in Isa. 53: 7. But JW' are! The slaughterer are the Org. exploiting their believers through donations and demanding free labour for their real estate projects.
It is not as simple as that. I was raised in it. I left because I saw what it had done to my mother who needed help for mental health issues, but she was disfellowshipped instead. I am convinced that they hoped she would just go away. It was worse, she didn't.
@@purplepanda7349 it's sad I had a friend who suffered from depression and they would always tell her to go out in field service more and read the Bible more. The Elders would tell her that she wasn't spiritual. She would always call me up and we would ditch the Book Study and go out to eat or ditch Saturday morning field service and go to breakfast and then shopping. She was the most happiest when the organization didn't have their foot on our necks. I'm sorry I never had the courage to tell her that it's this religion that is making you feel this way. I got out..don't know what happened to her. (I hate that I didn't speak my mind then that was in the early 2000s.)

I sincerely believe the organization is that of the adversary and the ultimate motivation is to defraud those from their salvation as it has them follow a false Jesus, a created being, one with no saving power. This fraud is even successful as it extends to those like you who have been fortunate enough to escape their grasps but still struggle to find the real Jesus due to the indoctrination that denies the diety of Christ and the understanding of the triune nature of God. You do not have to agree with me, but at least now you are free to research this claim through the scriptures without fearing the organization and being disfellowshipped. well done. i set up a browser just for jw and research to understand how to combat the jw mindset but like you said lies and the threat of loosing family would over ride every attempt. now i just show them they knowingly lie by asking how many chief princes are there (archangels to us) as dan 10,13 says michael is (one of the princes). point out later that Gabriel is one of the chief princes and if God shouts with the voice of an archangel ,prove its michael not Gabriel. (even though its God the Son)
Any direction away from a high control group is the right direction, you are controlled and if you don't believe me try saying something the opposite or even old light of this religion and keep saying for 24 hours see which direction that takes you.
I need to ask a question. I lost my best friend from high school to the JWs. She tried and tried, but I became a Christian, therefore, the shunning began. Last month, I received a notification that someone just posted a new photo on our high school website. I clicked to see who it was; it was her. Does this mean that she has rejoined the real world and left the organization? Or are the JWs now allowed to do secular things? Thank you in advance!
That is a very good question. Some JWs soften their stance over time. Some leave completely and try to reconnect with old friends. They could be slowly fading as well. However, unless you hear from them directly what their position is, it will be a hard question to answer.

Well, I finally got the courage and went on her Facebook page. I did not make a friend request, but I was able to look through photos and read a few posts. I did come across a post looks like it's from JW organization, something about finding the meaning of life and join them. Although that is from 2014, it's still up. So, guess I got my answer. Thank you.

The Jehovah's Witnesses have never claimed to be inspired prophets. They've never placed themselves on the level of inspired prophets such as Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Daniel. The Bible was still being written during their days, so Jehovah God spoke to them directly; however, the Bible foretold that the ability to prophesy and supernatural knowledge from heaven would cease once the Bible was completed. (1Corinthians 13:8) They see light when it's God's time to reveal it, and their understanding of scripture increases as time progresses. (Proverbs 4:18) That's why Jehovah's Witnesses adjust their thinking on certain matters.
I truly believe the governing body is not inspired by god. I do believe in jehovah and Jesus and the kingdom. But unfortunately they flipped so many doctrines and new light even they lost in Norway . Like shunning changed cause of $$$$ there loosing in Norway. It’s just weird that they would change doctrines after loosing in court. like god never did such events in the history of the Bible. When Moses lost in Egypt with pharaoh, he didn’t change his mind and say “you know what we’re staying in Egypt cause pharaohs says. No they kept there belief that Moses was god inspired and god wanted them to be free. Not buts or ifs to Egypts laws.
Faith and belief in Christ saves not a religion or organization. Go straight to the Lord and God in prayer. Any group that tells you that you need them for salvation is false.

Yeah - shocking! It was the csa coverups that made me "ashamed of my religion". I resigned by letter in January.

The Jehovah's Witnesses have never claimed to be inspired prophets. They've never placed themselves on the level of inspired prophets such as Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Daniel. The Bible was still being written during their days, so Jehovah God spoke to them directly; however, the Bible foretold that the ability to prophesy and supernatural knowledge from heaven would cease once the Bible was completed. (1Corinthians 13:8) They see light when it's God's time to reveal it, and their understanding of scripture increases as time progresses. (Proverbs 4:18) That's why Jehovah's Witnesses adjust their thinking on certain matters.

I truly believe the governing body is not inspired by god. I do believe in jehovah and Jesus and the kingdom. But unfortunately they flipped so many doctrines and new light even they lost in Norway . Like shunning changed cause of $$$$ there loosing in Norway. It’s just weird that they would change doctrines after loosing in court. like god never did such events in the history of the Bible. When Moses lost in Egypt with pharaoh, he didn’t change his mind and say “you know what we’re staying in Egypt cause pharaohs says. No they kept there belief that Moses was god inspired and god wanted them to be free. Not buts or ifs to Egypts laws.
