Hi Malathi, thanks a lot for your comment. I have also posted a separate video showing washing of aluminium, etc. I have shared my experience based on viewers queries and made the video based on requests. I am sharing the link below. Request you to watch the same when you find the time.ruclips.net/video/kxKvLCLmNuc/видео.html If you see my videos, I have clearly mentioned that washing aluminium does cause some discolouration which is not a good option if one can avoid it. This is basically the reaction between aluminium and the detergent. This is more at higher temperature and hard water. Even the dishwasher manual mentions that aluminium gets discoloured and advises against washing in dishwasher.Since the water at my place is very good, I hardly get any discolouration or any other effect. This is what I shared. We can use the aluminium that we already have but in low temperature cycle only. But I have slowly reduced my aluminium usage and have shifted to stainless steel, and those suited for dishwasher. My advice would be -Wash aluminium only in short (low temperature) cycle in dishwasher.Never wash aluminium in long cycle.Just before use, always wash/rinse the aluminium utensil which has been washed in a dishwasher to remove any soap residue that may be present on the surface.Slowly switch over to stainless steel in cooker, kadai, etc. There are good brands like VINOD, PRESTIGE, etc., available for kadai, cooker, etc. Avoid buying any new aluminium. Thanks once again.
Your videos have been clearing my doubts and i do look forward to buying a dishwasher. Just wanted to know are there differences in rates buying it online and buying it from an appliance shop??? Also if we have soft water supply, do we still need to add salt?? Thanks. Nisha.
@Nisha. Thanks for your comment and query. My feeling is that there are differences in the rates online and offline. Although I could be wrong on this, I feel that the online prices are lower than in offlline prices in some of the fast moving popular dishwasher brand models. They also usually come with some card and bank offers which makes the price attractive. Of course it is possible that some appliance showroom could match or even be lower than the online rates. It depends on the city and size of the appliance showroom.Coming to your second query, the manual mentions that salt setting is based on your water hardness. It makes no mention of not adding salt. My advice if the water is soft would be to add some salt in the salt chamber but keep the hardness setting to zero so that there is no salt consumption. Hope I have been able to answer your query. Thanks.
I am using an IFB Neptune VX dishwasher. I put a load of dishes every night. I pre wash all my dishes in water very well before putting them in the dishwasher. Kindly advise which program I should use.
Hi Mohammed, thanks for your query. Is the corporation water in Chennai hard? If so, do you know the hardness? Have you checked the hardness? Btw, which dishwasher are you using? Very informative video. I think prices of consumables for dishwasher have gone up. Please tell me which brand of Detergent powder, Rinse Aid and Salt, to buy which would cost around 160/- p.m. At a total loss about which brand to buy, as none are available now.
Thanks. Yes the prices of consumables have gone up. My cost of ₹ 160 per month was based on my usage for my type of water and the salt and rinse aid settings. It was based on annual consumption cost/12. It was based on 30 cycles in a month (both short and long cycles mixed). It could vary at your place depending on the water quality and the number of cycles. The most economical brand of dishwasher, salt, rinse aid and detergent in India is Fortune. Thanks.
Thanks for your reply. It was after watching your videos on dishwashers that I made up my mind to buy one.I have bought IFB Neptune DW but cant find its detergent. Fortune too cant find online. Both, right and wrong time to buy a DW I guess!

Hi Emeranacia, Manufacturers do not recommend washing aluminium (Hindalium is a brand of aluminium cookware) in dishwasher as it will get discoloured due to reaction with detergent and hard water at high temperature. But if you have soft water and use only low temperature cycle, then aluminium does not get discoloured. This is based on my experience and hence I have shared this in my videos. You can watch my video showing washing aluminium here - ruclips.net/video/kxKvLCLmNuc/видео.html Thanks.
Hi Sirisha Kandada, No you CANNOT and SHOULD NOT substitute dishwasher detergent or tablet with any normal soap powder. Let me explain why. DIshwasher detergents DO NOT cause SUD (sud is a form of froth or foam formed when soap mixes with water). Using normal hand wash detergent powder like sabeena, Vim etc. are not suitable for use in the dish washer. You get specially made dish wash detergents of various brands like FINISH, FORTUNE, CRYSTALE, IFB and few others, which are best suited and recommended for use in dishwashers. Similarly salt of various brands available especially for dishwashers, which helps in softening hard water is to be used. You have to use Rinse aid too of any of the above brands for spotless cleaning and for drying the dishes. Please see my videos showing use of various detergents and tablets in my dishwasher playlist in my channel : ruclips.net/video/cAPJ-0r_SlU/видео.html Hope I have cleared your doubt. Thank you.
Hello mam, for a family of 2, is it advisable to do 2 half loads one for lunch n one for dinner utensils? I stay in mumbai, but have not seen dishwashers in any reliable store in my area. And when I check online, many people r facing problems like damaged product n many queries with customer care. Pls advice whether to buy online or from stores n which particular brand with model no is best as per your research. Thanks
Hi Bhakti, thanks for your query. Actually my machine does not have half load program so I have not used it. But the present models available have half load option so I am sure you can use 2 half loads one each for lunch and dinner, if you have very less utensils both times. I am surprised to note that you have not been able to spot dishwasher in any reliable showroom in Mumbai. I am sure it must be available somewhere. In case of difficulty you could contact the company helpline to find out about showrooms which stock and display dishwashers. People have their own reasons and preferences for buying online or from showroom. I can fully appreciate your concern about buying online. But today all things big and small are available online that too from reputed websites like Flipkart and Amazon. Lots of people might have had problems and complaints, but there are lots of people who are also happy buying the machine online. When you buy online, you get the same warranty and same installation and demo from the company. The present latest model from BOSCH is amzn.to/2UgVI8G - Amazon Which brand to buy and whether you buy in showroom or online is a decision you have to take at your end. Thanks.
It is not advisable to wash hard anodised utensils in dishwasher as they will lose the shine and the anodised coating will also wear off. Silicone items are dishwasher safe and can be washed in dishwasher. Thanks.
Hi Ravindran Seshadri, You can buy any reputed brand of 3 KVA or more. There are brands like V Guard, Everest, Premier, etc. Just check the minimum and maximum voltages at your home and confirm whether the stabiliser works for this range. Voltage stabilisers clearly mention the min and max voltages which they can correct. Thanks.
Hi Maushami, Acually it should resume from the same point or at least from the same part of cycle - either start of wash or start of rinse or start of dry - depending on when the power went off. But of late many users have reported that it does not resume from same point but starts from the beginning. This is just based on what viewers shared with me. Thanks.
I think E23 refers to clogged drain pump. There could be some food particles in the drain filter area. You could clean the same but if the problem persists, you will need to call Bosch service. Before doing the cleaning yourself, make sure to switch off the power supply and close the water tap. Clean the drain filter and also remove any solid food particles that might be present in the drain filter chamber. Thanks.
Yes Sujitha, it's better if not washed. But you can wash them in a low temperature cycle which is less than 50 deg C. Otherwise they will become tarnished. Watch my other videos on dishwasher in my dishwasher playlist:

You can click the buying link given in the description. I can assure you that you will be happy about your decision of buying this amazing machine which is definitely suitable for Indian dishes. akshat purohit Hi, I've not used Futura anodised cookers, but I've used Prestige anodised cooker and an unbranded anodised tava(which I've shown being washed in my previous video). According to my experience, anodised cookware can be washed ONLY in 45 deg Quick wash cycle. If you check out Hawkins product catalogue, which I just did, you can see that they have claimed Futura SS cookers to be dishwasher safe. They haven't mentioned anything about anodised cookers and dishwasher. The anodised coating, will wear off over a period of time, if washed in a dishwasher. Stainless steel is the safest bet, which can be washed in any cycle. That's why I've switched over the years from aluminium to steel, whether they are cookers or kadais or saucepans or milk containers etc etc. Because I am totally dependent on my Dishwasher. I have slowly converted my cookware to almost all steel (and induction compatible) and am happier by it. I have even stopped using non stick cookware. Disposed off the earlier ones after they've worn off. Since you are about start your married life now and are setting up your house and kitchen, you can as well invest in good quality steel than all these anodised cookware, especially if you are planning to use the dishwasher regularly, as though they are fancy looking and may be rugged and all, unless the company gives assurance, you wouldn't want to risk your costly cookware to be tried in the dishwasher unnecessarily. SS cookware and cookers may cost more initially, but they are long-lasting, rugged and hygienic. I don't regret moving to SS cookware and cookers, as I know that even after heavy usage, I can safely wash them in the dishwasher.
Thank you once again for such a detailed reply .I am amazed that you remember I am about to start married life and really loved this gesture of yours for suggesting to invest in good utensils for longer run. I have ordered Prestige steel cooker pan style , I am sure its gonna serve me well. Thanks once again from the bottom of my heart , may God keep you in best of the Health. Adios
Pre wash is not necessary as such if you have kept most of the utensils soaked in water. Avoid keeping the utensils dry, especially the milk boilers and heavily soiled ones. In case you are loading immediately after use then you could use the pre wash option that is available on most new models these days. Soaking till the time of loading into dishwasher should take care of the cleaning of the milk boiler. Placing the milk boiler at the correct location in the machine along with usage of the correct program and quantity of detergent shoild give you almost 100% cleaning. Thank you.
Hi. Sorry to note that your Milton tiffin box got bulged. Did you put it in high temperature cycle? Most plastics cannot withstand high temperatures and they will change shape, or show signs of melting. Most plastics which are marked dishwasher safe does not specifically mention that they are suitable only for low temperature cycle in dishwasher. Only good quality glass and stainless steel are suitable for high temperature long cycle in dishwasher. Wash all other utensils and any other item that you may have doubt, only in short cycle. Take care. Thanks.
Hi Shravan, it is generally not advisable to wash non stick in a dishwasher. I have tried out a couple of times in the short 45 degree program cycle and nothing happened. Basically it gets cleaned, but the stubborn oil and grease stuck on it will not be cleaned, as there is no scrubbing involved in a dishwasher, just like there is no brushing in a washing machine. My personal advice would be to avoid washing nonstick, better would be to shift to good quality steel utensils and iron tawa instead of a nonstick tawa. Thank you.
Hi, thanks for your observation and comment. I fully agree with you. I don't know where you are from. In India, most families have aluminium cookware because of it's thermal conductivity which helps in faster cooking and also because they are affordably priced and also because for many years till recently cookers and other utensils were only available in aluminium. This is the reason all my Indian viewers have queries based on aluminium usage in dishwashers. Though nowadays you have a wide range of all the above in stainless steel as well. Like others I too have had many aluminium utensils like cooker, kadais, sauce pans, tea pans etc..for many years. But ever since I started using dishwasher(6 years), I've slowly weaned away from aluminium and shifted almost totally to steel cookware, though I still have a very few of them (which are in good condition) that are left with me and I use them occasionally So coming to the point of discussion, I do know that aluminium is a reactive metal and the chemicals in the detergent can react with it, but this happens in manual wash as well. The dishwasher manual too says aluminium and other metals get discoloured over a period of time in the dishwasher. And I am a person who follows the manual to the "T". But for the sake of my viewers and for my own sake I did lot of experimentation by way of washing different aluminum cookware, copper, silver etc. and found that there was no significant change/reaction in the quick short temperature(45 deg) cycle, which I've tried many a times. And that is what I've time and again told in my videos and my replies to various comments, "that these are my observations and people should decide at their own discretion". If you've read any of my replies you would have observed that I suggest people to switch over to Steel, because if one is going to be dependent on his/her dishwasher, this would be the right decision in the long run. I believe that" IF A DISH/COOKWARE/UTENSIL IS UNSUITABLE FOR MY DISHWASHER, IT HAS NO PLACE IN MY KITCHEN"!!!! Anyway thanks a lot for your advice. I will definitely use this to explain the ill effects of aluminium washing in dishwasher, to my viewers. Thank you once again.

Please check them out here : www.ifbappliances.com/products/kitchen/dishwashers The two models that appear to be popular are the mid range ones, Neptune VX 12 and Neptune WX 12. Their website also gives you a comparison. You could choose one of these based on your preference, price, best offer from showroom, etc. Just to check about IFB dishwashers, I checked out website like Amazon for user reviews. Although a lot of the users seem happy with the IFB dishwasher, an abnormally high number of users have serious complaints about the poor quality of service provided by IFB. Some people have complained about installation issues too. amzn.to/2HbjdfE Please click on this page and go to customer reviews. (WX 12) amzn.to/2qiFbD0 Please click on this page and go to customer reviews (VX 12) So I wanted to let you know about this aspect too. Your showroom/dealer is bound to give you lot of assurances and promises about very good service, but this is one aspect you will need to check on your own before deciding on your purchase. I would not want you to suffer on account of poor after sales service in your city after spending your hard earned money. Good luck with your purchase. Do let me know once you purchase and start using it. In case you still have any queries, I shall be happy to help. Thank you once again.

Do please look for more info' about it on Google I am sure you are capable of coming out with a much cheaper option for all of us. The inquisitive and interested always do well with out of box ideas. Love, Abha Gore.
the detergent is very costly. fortune is of rs 220 and finish is around 400. salt and rinse aid is also costly. so how can monthly use be only 160 rs. I think it might be more.
nkusa2010 Many thanks for your query. You are right the detergents are all costly. But the quantity of usage per wash is very less hence one box of detergent lasts for 2 to 3 months. That is how I have given about ₹ 160 as detergent cost per month. I have given these figures based on my actual usage over a period of more than three years. On an average, I run one wash cycle a day, upto about 40 cycles per month. Having said this, the quantity of detergent used (or to be used) is dependent on the quality of water and level of soiling of utensils. If the water is hard, we have to use more detergent and if water is soft, we can get same results with less detergent. Your consumption of detergent, rinse aid and salt depends on the water quality. I hope this clarifies your doubt. I am doing a bit of research on the different brands of detergents and their wash quality and consumption. I shall soon be posting a video on that soon. Thanks once again.

Thanks.

Hi Mohammed, thanks for your query.
Is the corporation water in Chennai hard? If so, do you know the hardness? Have you checked the hardness?
Btw, which dishwasher are you using?
Please let me know these, so that I can guide you.
In the mean time you can watch my other dishwasher videos on my channel, from the playlist below:

Where to check in lab
Hi Mohammed, please look for a water/food testing lab near your locality. Ask for calcium and magnesium hardness in your water.
Once you know that, you can accordingly set the hardness level in your dishwasher.
Thanks.

Whether in bosch dishwasher Indalium kadai is safe or not
Hi Emeranacia, Manufacturers do not recommend washing aluminium (Hindalium is a brand of aluminium cookware) in dishwasher as it will get discoloured due to reaction with detergent and hard water at high temperature. But if you have soft water and use only low temperature cycle, then aluminium does not get discoloured. This is based on my experience and hence I have shared this in my videos. You can watch my video showing washing aluminium here - ruclips.net/video/kxKvLCLmNuc/видео.html

Hi. Can we use normal detagent like sabeena and salt or should we use only the subscribed salt, detargent or tablet. Planning to buy ifb dishwasher
You
get specially made dish wash detergents of various brands like FINISH, FORTUNE, CRYSTALE, IFB and few others, which are best suited and recommended for use in dishwashers.
Similarly salt of various brands available especially for dishwashers, which helps in softening hard water is to be used.
You have to use Rinse aid too of any of the above brands for spotless cleaning and for drying the dishes.
Please see my videos showing use of various detergents and tablets in my dishwasher playlist in my channel : ruclips.net/video/cAPJ-0r_SlU/видео.html
Hope I have cleared your doubt. Thank you.

For this you need to check the setting.
The present latest model from BOSCH is
amzn.to/2UgVI8G - Amazon
Which brand to buy and whether you buy in showroom or online is a decision you have to take at your end.
Thanks.

Maam can we wash prestige and hawkins hard anodised utensils and also can we wSh silicone items in dishwasher?
It is not advisable to wash hard anodised utensils in dishwasher as they will lose the shine and the anodised coating will also wear off. Silicone items are dishwasher safe and can be washed in dishwasher. Thanks.
For low voltage which brand stabilizer for Bosch dishwasher
Hi Ravindran Seshadri, You can buy any reputed brand of 3 KVA or more. There are brands like V Guard, Everest, Premier, etc. Just check the minimum and maximum voltages at your home and confirm whether the stabiliser works for this range. Voltage stabilisers clearly mention the min and max voltages which they can correct.

Hello ma'am does lg dishwasher gave memory to work if there is load shedding or will it start again
Hi Maushami, Acually it should resume from the same point or at least from the same part of cycle - either start of wash or start of rinse or start of dry - depending on when the power went off. But of late many users have reported that it does not resume from same point but starts from the beginning. This is just based on what viewers shared with me. Thanks.

Madam E23 error code what should I do?
I think E23 refers to clogged drain pump.
There could be some food particles in the drain filter area. You could clean the same but if the problem persists, you will need to call Bosch service. Before doing the cleaning yourself, make sure to switch off the power supply and close the water tap. Clean the drain filter and also remove any solid food particles that might be present in the drain filter chamber. Thanks.
Aluminium and copper are not supposed to wash it seems... All become black no..
Yes Sujitha, it's better if not washed. But you can wash them in a low temperature cycle which is less than 50 deg C. Otherwise they will become tarnished.

Bhuvana mam any experience of Futura pressure cookers and or Futura cookware ??
Can these anodized pots and pans be cleaned at quick wash 45C cycle ?
akshat purohit Hi, I've not used Futura anodised cookers, but I've used Prestige anodised cooker and an unbranded anodised tava(which I've shown being washed in my previous video).
Adios
Thank you for your wishes Akshat.
Blessings and best wishes to you for a great future and married life ahead!:))
Is pre wash of utensils necessary? To what extent milk boiler to be cleaned?
Pre wash is not necessary as such if you have kept most of the utensils soaked in water. Avoid keeping the utensils dry, especially the milk boilers and heavily soiled ones. In case you are loading immediately after use then you could use the pre wash option that is available on most new models these days.
Soaking till the time of loading into dishwasher should take care of the cleaning of the milk boiler.
Placing the milk boiler at the correct location in the machine along with usage of the correct program and quantity of detergent shoild give you almost 100% cleaning.
Thank you.
Bhuvana Adi g :- Thank you
And first time i have put the miltons tiffin box it spoiled means its lid absorbed water and bulged
Take care. Thanks.
Can we use non-stick also in normal or quick wash cycle.
Thank you.
@@BhuvanaAdi thankyou very much for the reply.
You're most welcome, Shravan.
Aluminium shouldn't be washed in the dishwasher because the alkali from the detergent reacts with the aluminium
But ever since I started using dishwasher(6 years), I've slowly weaned away from aluminium and shifted almost totally to steel cookware, though I still have a very few of them (which are in good condition) that are left with me and I use them occasionally
So coming to the point of discussion, I do know that aluminium is a reactive metal and the chemicals in the detergent can react with it, but this happens in manual wash as well.
Thank you once again.
very nice reply mam
akshat purohit Thank you.
mam can you suggest me a best model dishwasher in IFB.In my town I have a IFB showroom only.
Hi Rose 83! Thanks a lot. I do not have an IFB so I checked out their website. They seem to have 4 models. Please check them out here :
www.ifbappliances.com/products/kitchen/dishwashers
The two models that appear to be popular are the mid range ones, Neptune VX 12 and Neptune WX 12.

So I wanted to let you know about this aspect too.

@@BhuvanaAdi ..... quite some time back I read some folks in US were using Soap Nuts (Shikekai) in their Washing machine and Dishwashers, which is actually used in making soaps and detergents all over. The Soap nuts are wrapped in a piece of cloth and dropped inside the machine drum and it leaves the stuff clean.
