    Hello mam. I recently bought bosch dishwasher. I live in mumbai. We have soft water. I used finish all in one tablet but some soapy residue seen on vessels. Asked bosch service guy he told to use rinse aid and salt as well. I used it but set level to zero. And salt to soft. Still same result. If i select 65 to 70 ° programme for 2.5 hr and use finish quantum tablet vessels are clean. If i use finish detergent what rinse aid level should be.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  9 месяцев назад

      Hi Ashwini, for soft water like that in Mumbai, you will get very good cleaning results with detergent, salt and rinse aid combinations rather than tablets which already have a certain quantity of salt and rinse aid. That is the reason for the soap residue that you see on your vessels.
      In case you want to use tablets, especially those like Finish Quantum, you can set both salt and rinse aid levels to zero, and if you are going to use Finish detergent(which is actually very good for soft water) you can set the salt and rinse aid to the minimum level.
      Moreover, tablets can be used effectively in longer cycles than in short duration cycles. Also, it's ideal to use a tablet only for heavily soiled utensils in a long cycle.
      I've uploaded many videos on dishwashers which includes a series of videos on detergents. You can watch those videos by clicking the link of the playlist below:

      Hi Sarita, If you are using tablets permanently and are getting good results, it is better to set both salt and rinse aid setting to H:00 and r:00. If you do this, the indicator lights will not be glowing always. I have shown rinse aid and salt setting in the video whose link is given below -

      Hi Safia. I cannot comment on whether BOSCH service is good or bad. Fortunately I have not had the need to call for service. My feeling is if used and handled properly, BOSCH dishwasher is trouble free and should give you long life without any need for service.
      And I feel that since BOSCH headquarters is in Bangalore, you should be able to get proper service from them. Please check with your appliance dealer for service reliability. Thank you.

      Hi Maheswari, I understood your problem as soon as I read it. But since you were mentioning about your intention to use homemade detergent in your mail, I was wondering if the formula wasn't suiting your water.
      Anyway since you're using Finish, you must be using salt and rinse aid as well. What are the settings? How hard is your water?
      From your issue, I feel your rinse aid level is kept high. So reduce the level of rinse aid, your problem should be solved.

      You are right regarding the auto restart, a lot of my viewers recently have reported the same issue ie. the dishwasher does not resume from same point but starts from the beginning after a power cut, which should not be the case. I am not sure whether this is only in one lot or this is a deficiency in the machine. Incidentally, I did not face this issue when I got the opportunity to use the machine for two months last year during which I made my videos.
      Auto resume feature is a simple and common one which is there in all gadgets nowadays and is a convenient and necessary feature. I think you will need to call LG service to get this issue addressed and clarified. Thanks.

      Hi Shyamala. Thanks for the query. I just went to BOSCH INDIA website and saw that they have launched a few new models which are even available for sale in online websites. They seem to have introduced two models SMS66GW01I (White) and SMS66GI01I (Silver). But on, going through the features and specifications, I saw that these models are identical to SMS60L12IN (White) and SMS60L18IN (Silver) respectively which were available earlier. In which case, you could go for either of the two new models based on your colour preference. Hope this answers your query. Thank you.

      According to me in Bosch, Eco cycle gives excellent cleaning results. Also it is the most economical in water and power consumption.

    Mam I had one question before buying the lg dishwasher. I wanted to know the length of the door opening so that I can know how much space is required in front of the dishwasher.... Currently at the place I'm planning to get it installed, there is a kitchen cabinet in front of the space for the dishwasher with some space in between. I don't think this info is available online. So basically just nned to know how much the door height is

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  4 года назад +1

      Hi Oliver, You are right. The total dimension with door open is not given by most manufacturers. Actually I was waiting for the exact dimension sheet from LG but it has not come till date. I have measured my Bosch dimensions with door fully open and the LG dimensions should be almost identical I believe. The clear space required in front to open the door fully is about 23 inches. The total dimension from back of machine to end of fully open door is 47 inches. Hope this helps.

In case you are buying online, I would be happy if you could buy through my buying links - mentioned in the description of my videos (of course this is only after online sales and despatches of large items commence). Hi ma'am, they say do not use almunium?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  3 года назад

      Hi Mona, aluminium tends to get discoloured when washed in dishwasher especially in higher temperatures.
      I've been washing aluminium in my dishwasher for many years now, but in the shortest low temperature cycle.
      Having said this, I would like to add that I've changed my aluminium cookers to steel cookers and also bought many steel kadais as they are safe to wash in the dishwasher in any program cycle.

  • @kar3shitikantha
    @kar3shitikantha 5 лет назад

    Does it harm the aluminium utensils? Some videos show aluminium utensils are not recommended as the get damaged.. Please help me with the doubt.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  5 лет назад

      Hi Shitikanta, a good question. As per the manual aluminum is not recommended to be washed in the dishwasher as it can get discoloured in the long run. But I have been using a dishwasher for more than 6&1/2 years now and my experience says that aluminum can be washed in a low temperature short duration cycle which doesn't affect the aluminium utensil. I've been doing this all these years without any harm done to my dishes. But in the initial years one or two of my pans and an anodised cooker got spoilt when unknowingly I washed them in high temperature long duration wash program.
      Having said this I would like to add that in the last few years I have made a conscious effort to switch over from aluminium to steel, be it kadais or cookers and even pans. Though aluminum has it's advantages, if you are going to depend on your dishwasher for you daily washing, it's better to invest in steel as it is not only durable and healthy alternative to aluminium, but also safer to be used in the dishwasher in any temperature. Especially aluminum with Teflon coating and anodised aluminum are not suitable for the dishwasher. Steel cookware may be costly initially, but you don't have the risk of your costly cookware getting damaged when washed in a dishwasher.
      I've many more videos on various other topics in dishwasher usage in my channel. Please watch them. There is one video specifically showing washing if aluminum. Please watch to get a clearer picture.
      Hope I've cleared your doubts satisfactorily. Please feel free to write in case you have any more doubts.

    How is the service of Bosch? I'm based in Delhi. Many people complain about the bad service, is it true?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Seema. This is one question I cannot answer clearly. Till date, fortunately my machine has been working properly so I have not had the need to call for their service. If you go to online forums and even websites like Amazon, Flipkart, or the Facebook pages of these companies, you will find numerous comments and complaints from actual buyers. Some even praise the service. So I believe this is based on various factors like your location, service team in that area, their efficiency and availability of spares and knowledge of the visiting technician. This is the case not for just one brand or one appliance. Most of the companies think that their job is finished after sale of the product.
      So you will need to talk to the local showroom, company service centre (call their toll free number) and then take a proper decision. In the end, wish and pray that you are lucky enough not to need service. Thank you.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  5 лет назад +1

      If you are getting water droplets on vessels, this is most likely to be rinse aid setting problem. For your usage and water quality, the present rinse aid s etting is less. Although Crystale tablet has rinse aid in it, it might not be sufficient for your water and usage. So I would advise you to increase the rinse aid setting by 1 or 2 levels and then observe, your problem should get solved. Feel free to write if you still have a problem. Thank you.

      @@sivagpriya hi, i don't understand. Do you mean to say you have not added rinse aid at all? If so, please add rinse aid and keep the rinse aid setting in 1 or 2 if you are always using tablets and not detergents. Because tablets are a combination of detergent, rinse aid and salt. Yet it may be required to use rinse aid and salt as the quantity present in the tablet may not be enough.
      If your water is very hard and you still get the problem, you may have to increase the setting. Similar is the case for salt as well.
      I hope I have made myself clear. Please try this out and let me know if you find any change in the wash quality.

      Hi Spanda , I must say that the technician has not given you the right advice. Even if you are using tablet, unless and until your water quality is very good, a little amount of salt and rinse aid is required as the tablet may not have the amount required to suit your water quality. Please see my video on water hardness in which I have shown about rinse aid and salt setting. Also go through your dishwasher manual, especially the topic on rinse aid and salt. Thanks for your query Sharan Das Rajdev. There are lot of brands of dishwashers available in India right now like Bosch, IFB, Siemens, LG, Samsung, Koryo, Kaff, etc. Siemens and Bosch are from the same group. The technology and functioning is the same for all brands. Based on my personal experience of usage, I can say that I am happy with Bosch. IFB has been in India since many years and lots of people use it and are happy with it. Your choice should be based on easy availaility and service back up in your location and also pricing and offers, if any. Thank you.

      @BhuvanaAdi  4 года назад

      Hi Mukund, sorry about your problem.
      For any dish to be properly cleaned in a dishwasher, few things are important :
      1. Proper placement of dishes on the rack. More soiled to be placed in the peripheri, as spray arms have more holes in the end.
      2. Dishes have to be soaked if not loaded immediately after use in the dishwasher. Else dried up food particles will not get cleaned easily. Other option would be to use the pre rinse option, before selection of the actual wash cycle.
      3. Correct program cycle. For more greasy, heavily soiled dishes, you've to opt for high temperature long program cycles and for low and medium soiled dishes you can select a short duration low temperature cycle.
      4. Correct amount of detergent based on level of soilng is also important for proper cleaning of dishes.
      5. Adjust your salt and rinse aid setting levels based on your water quality.
      Having taken care of this, you should get perfect results from your dishwasher. But you should remember that dishwasher is not a magic machine, there is no scrubbing involved like in manual wash. Few utensils may not be 100% cleaned. Make a little effort of washing those one or two dishes immediately after wash program completes, and you will get them clean totally
      I hope I have given you a convincing reply and by following the above, your problem gets solved.

    Can SS dining plates (Thalis) of 13.5 inches diameter be cleaned in dishwasher?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  6 лет назад

      Vijay Pandit Hi, sorry for the delayed reply. The height of the plates should be such that, when placed in the bottom rack, it shouldn't touch/obstruct the spray arm below the upper rack. The safe height is 11 inches if placed straight in the plates rack. More than 11 inches can only be kept in a slanting manner. Also if the the thickness of the thali is more than 3/4 inches, it will not fit in the plates rack, you've to keep it outside along with other dishes only. Hope I've cleared your doubt. Thank you

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  6 лет назад

      Hi. I am not sure the user manual mentions the internal dimensions. This is to the best of my knowledge. If you really want to know the internal dimensions, I think you will need to visit a showroom, see a machine and take measurements yourself. Or else you will need to contact the company directly. Thank you very much.

      seema sood Thank you for your kind words of appreciation. Happy to be of help to you. My idea is to mainly help clear people's apprehensions about using a dishwasher for Indian dishes. I can understand the problems of people in finding good domestic help these days. Dish washer is a new concept in India, though it is slowly picking up. But unless they are very sure, with all their doubts cleared thoroughly, people will hesitate to make a decision. So in my own way I am trying to help people make a decision, since I've been enjoying the benefits of having and using a dishwasher for the past 6 years. Thank you once again.

    Quick cycle is proper to clean utensils?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  4 года назад +1

      @Usha, it depends on the degree of soiling. Quick wash is mainly for lightly soiled dishes as the wash temperature is just 45 degC.

      Don't open the dishwasher immediately as it will be very hot inside. After 5-10 minutes, open it slightly and leave it slanted.
      Give some more time, so that all the water inside drains, and then open the door fully, pulling out the rack one by one.

    What is ur opinion about LG Dishwasher...?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  5 лет назад

      Hi Reshma, LG is a good brand. I have seen LG dishwasher in the showrooms and they look impressive. LG has 3 spray arms which I think is a good feature. Also, the rack height is slightly higher than other brands which I feel is good.
      They say it has direct drive, don't get taken in by it. A dishwasher has no rotating part and even the water spray arm rotation happens by the reaction of the water jet spray. Only the water supply pump and drain water pump use motor. These are too small and direct drive has no meaning. Direct drive has meaning only in washing machine which has a rotating drum and where the motor handles the full load.
      I found the LG dishwasher priced at least ₹ 10000 more than other brands. If you like it and don't mind the price difference, you could go for it. I have been using LG washing machine, microwave oven since many years and they give trouble free reliable performance. So their dishwashers must be good too. But reasons best known to them, LG is not concentrating on marketing dishwashers in India.
      Hope this is useful. Thank you.
