Andrew Lines sure it is, I have one with a born date of 2/2019 and have had zero issues with it. I’d say it’s a way better option just in capacity alone.

    • @andrewlinesjah4538
      @andrewlinesjah4538 5 лет назад

      No !
I would like you to prove me wrong , but the only way to do that would be by putting the pistol through a
      20 000 round test .
But prior to that to take a pistol with the same date of release as yours
And have every part comprising it analysed and a full metallurgy report compiled .
And after the other pistol stops firing on the 20 000 test ,
Then that pistol must undergo a full engineering report of which metallurgy will form part .
THE REASON FOR THE ABOVE IS SIMPLE :
It has already been discovered through normal firing tests that the firing pins on the P 365 were inferior and simply failed !
Sig has a long history of using poor materials , and poor design alike , which endangers their gun users .
Sig's attitude is not apologetic , but rather to avoid responsibility !
SIG IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY - AND THAT IS CLEARLY REFLECTED IN THE POOR QUALITY FIREARMS THAT THEY RELEASE INTO THE ,MARKET . ENDANGERING SELF DEFENSE CARRIERS ! ! !

Really well done. You covered the exact things that make EDC a reality. I have the CM9 and recently looked at the P365. The trigger on the Sig is a LOT better but those 3.3 ounces are a big deal for me. If I didn't have to use deep concealment, I might make a different choice, but concealing anything with khakis and a tucked-in polo shirt means carry methods are limited and every ounce matters.

I've been carrying, mostly pocket, my PM9 for about 14 years. I've felt all along the the PM9 was as large and as heavy I'd want to go for pocket carry. Maybe it is my age, I'm 74, but 3 more ounces would be a big deal to me. I'll occasionally carry my P3AT (with 9 round spare mag) and when I do am really surprised at how much I appreciate its lighter weight over the PM9.

Although I love the PM9 one awesome dependable gun, I have to say the Sig P365 or the Hellcat fills that pocket without too much added weight. Great choice. One thing to consider. As a law abiding concealed weapon EDC, most guns are black. Although any CWP holder knows you can’t brandish a weapon. But some jerk can say they saw you wave your weapon and make a lot of grief for you. It pays to carry a gun that is not black. Food for thought.

Very good review my friend...I too have both guns. While I personally like the look and overall build quality of my Kahr PM9, the sigP365 is also very well constructed and designed. The extra rounds are great, but it comes down to which is more accurate in ones hands... end of the day that is what counts. At least that is how I will decide....I think my PM9 is a little more accurate, but not by much. I might just make myself rotate, since I like 5hem both so much. Either-way both of these represent the top 2 choices on the market with the S&w shield as next best platform for CCW....just my opinion

@Steve L I've been a street cop for 24 years so I guess those ounces add up to unnecessary pounds over the years. LOL But seriously, the reason we use heavy subtonics in our duty guns is we may have to punch through windshields, car and house doors etc...The lighter, faster rounds not only are easier to carry all day, but are less likely to over penetrate. I think you're confusing less velocity with less penetration. A 950fps 147gr HP will penetrate more 'generally' than a 115gr 1280fps HP which is more likely to fragment, expand more and stay in the body. Hope this helped.

Lol, I went to the range with club members and we shot a thousand rounds through the Sig 365. The grip to receiver is very narrow and easy to ride the slide which some of us did. Funny thing is, I ordered the CM9. Now if the CM9 can shoot as well as my Nano then it that will be just fantastic. The Nano compared to the Sig was very different. The Nano is much more mild to shoot, and the grip is so nice for all hands. Plenty of room for two handed shooting. Everyone that shoots the Nano at my club make the same comment. The Nano feels like you are shooting 380 ammo.

  • @davevabch

Ounces do matter, more than most people think. I have both, the Kahr is 5.8 in length and the Kahr is 5.4. Height is 4.3 vs 4.0 for the Kahr. Weight is 17.9 Sig vs 15.9 for Kahr. The Kahr is also thinner. The Kahr can also have a mag that is 7+1. Which is fine for real life. Actually I have two Kahr's. The Sig is going to be sold. Just too many failures and too easy to ride the slide with the Narrow space between the receiver and the Grip. I would only recommend the Sig for small handed shooters. Actually my Beretta Pico has more space for the off hand than the Sig. I also like the way the Kahr shoots better, less muzzle flip and not as snappy. Kahr did a much better job in the design for smoothness. And I love the Striker Fired DAO in the Kahr, especially for EDC of a Small gun.

Your are exactly right in my opinion. I want the smallest, lightest gun for CC, so I can carry anytime regardless of my attire. Nearly all encounters end in six shots or less. With MagGuts KAHRS are 7+1 with the flush fit mag. I know people say they would rather have more rounds and not need them, but if you carry twenty rounds there will be someone who says you need thirty and so on. I have many "CC" carry pistols and none beat the light recoil of the KAHR.

I have both a newer P365 and a 2008-PM9....I love both. No doubt that Sig p365 is the latest and greatest in innovation where a small ccw and high round count are concerned versus the PM 9 which is more on the side of yesterday’s technology. However, the PM 9 has a build quality second to none. The polymer on it feels more substantial than most other polymer pistols, along with polygonal rifling and angles serrations on the slide for a better grip. The PM9 is a work of art where gunsmithing is concerned and I will never part with mine for that reason alone, but one must admit when newer technology makes more common sense to utilize on a daily basis as the P365 demonstrates to the modern day CCW owner...one cannot refute the fantastic trigger and sheer round count alone combined with fact that dimensionally its virtually the same size. The weight aspect is the only advantage that the PM9 has going for it when comparing the two. At the end of the day, Sig is THE ultimate ccw for anyone wanting a quality firearm that is also accurate, pocketable and actually cheaper (brand new) than the PM9 (not the CW9).
Really good video comparison of the two my friend. And you are spot on that the PM9/CW9 is really a legit choice for particular applications where only the weight itself would be a difference maker.

I also carry while riding my road bike in the summer, been doing that since 2014 except I carry an M&P Shield 9. The weight never bothers me while riding, I also changed the spring & follower in the seven round mag to give me one extra round making it 8+1. so I never carry a backup when I'm riding my bike.. So I was very excited and interested when the p365 was announced that is until all of the well-documented reliability issues with the gun not to mention the gun comes with no trigger safety like a Glock 43 nor does it have an option for an external safety like an M&P Shield which should be important for that gun because Sig has a reputation of their polymer pistols hitting the ground and discharging!. that is very dangerous for an active person like myself, power walking jogging and bike riding. So hopefully Sig clean it up and Good luck with yours

But I will check out the x 9 for an owb carry.

The biggest difference to me isn't the round count, but rather the DANGERS of the Sig trigger since it is a short trigger and has no sort of safety, it is NOT suited for pocket carry and is UNSAFE in my opinion, particularly in that soft shell, an object can still push the trigger inside your pocket and cause an AD!

I have a P365 that was born last May that has over 1500 rounds through it without any problems what so ever! I also own the PM9 and the P380 which I have carried daily over 10 years. Which Kahr has always been dependent on the season as I live at the beach and wear mostly shorts and T shirts. Neither Kahr has had any problems even during break in. I couldn’t be happier with all three, but each serves its own purpose. I too use the Alabama pocket holster and find it the best choice. To be fair the extra weight on the Sig is probably the extra rounds, the same number of rounds has to be added to each gun to keep it apples to apples, the advantage then goes to Sig as the Kahr would require the additional weight of a second magazine to house those extra rounds that the Sig can accommodate with one magazine. Considering I was a LEO for 25 years and felt fine with a 5 shot Chiefs Special and sometimes a Safariland speed strip. Times have changed and extra rounds are the rule not the exception any more. I own 4 Kahrs and 4 Sigs so I think very highly of both, in this case even though the Kahr has one of the smoothest triggers in the business the Sig has a great trigger with a much shorter reset. Considering that the Sig with a 12 rd magazine is almost the capability of some full size service guns, and half the size and weight that’s saying something. To be fair you need to weigh the Sig with a 12 round mag and 1 extra bullet against the Kahr with two fully loaded mags and one bullet to compare their maximum potential.

*I alternate between carrying a G26 and CM9. Just handled both Hellcat and P365 at gun store 1st time then watched many reviews. I'm impressed. Am I running out to buy them? No. Both my compact 9mm pistols do a great job, i own them, shoot them well (G25 the best) and I know they are reliable. I pocket carry both and winter go to leather side holster and G26 full time.. I already own and shoot the G26 and CM9 well. Small difference in size or weight or round capacity take a back seat to reliability and shoot-ability. If 6+1 or 10+1 is not enough to get the job done I am in deep dewdew. I can always add more rounds to both Kahr and G26 with my extended mags (adding one or two rounds). Of course Glock 26 can take Glock magazines from 15, 17 to 30 rounds.*

I think you missed 2 points: the barrel lengths (3.1 inch 365, 3.6 inch CM9). The difference can be important for bullet velocity. Also, the triggers are very different where the CM9 has a longer pull like a double action which I feel is safer, requiring a more deliberate pull. Striker systems are like a slightly heavy single action only and it is easier to set the trigger off.

    • @lionary

My friend, agree with you about the different trigger systems possibly being an important difference for pocket carry (and personally I am not letting go of my PM9, nor purchasing a similar pistol). But note that the barrel length of CM9 is showing as 3.1 inches, so no difference there--seems you cited the barrel length of the P9 by mistake.

No disrespect intended, my friend; but you seemed to be surprised that an additional 4 rounds of 9mm, would cause the P365 to weigh more? I was also blown away that you feel 3.3 ounces makes that much of a difference. That's the weight of 6 tablespoons of water, or a deck of playing cards; in exchange for nearly the double the ammo capacity. Anyway, thank you for your presentation.

great vid exactly the comparison i was looking for as i also have a cm9, and a lcp. like you, i understand small size is paramount and every ounce matters!
I think from online specs I thought the 365 was slightly larger than the CM9, but your vid relieves me to know they're almost exactly the same size.
And yeah, unfortunately I'm also aware, ammo has weight too. Greater capacity=greater weight too even though people usually dont consider it.
I'll probably trade out my CM9 for a P365 one of these days, I wisely waited for them to fully work the kinks out, which they seem to already be possibly there or getting close, but no harm waiting I dunno, another year or something even I figure.
I also suspected Glock would come out with a hi cap micro 9, one that was possibly more reliable than the sig. So I was waiting for that too. Well, the G43X was quite disappointing on that front! It seems notably larger especially in the grip. Not sure if Glock will still come with a true 10rd Micro 9 yet...but I expect it would be awhile if so anyway after the G43x.

The P938 safety wouldn't stay engaged, (so why even have one?).
Even with the off side lever removed!
And I never could get it to shoot to POI
I know, low and left, my fault!
After two or three mags, I could overcome the problem, but a day off and try again, same damned thing! Not something good for self defense!
The P365 had a minor version of the same thing, but got it fixed now! Birth date, Jan of 2019 and some where between 3 and 4 hundred through it now. Not a single malfunction of any kind as yet.
Love both, the PM9 and the P365, would be even better if the PM9 had the same trigger though!
Since I like a "back up" to use the same ammo and magazines, if possible, I sometimes tend to just carry two back up guns. Completely interchangeable.

The average 147gr 9mm bullet weighs 1.2 ounces. Why don’t you just carry the sig while riding your bike and remove 3 rounds, that way you still have 1 more round than the Kahr. 1 round less should make your sig lighter than a fully loaded Kahr. Or better yet load your Sig with 65 grain Underwood Extreme Defender rounds which would make your Sig .73 ounces lighter with 11 rounds. Plus there is no ammo more devastating than Extreme Defender. It creates more than twice the cavitation than Hornady Critical Defense or HST. Look it up on RUclips.

    • @Snowball042
      @Snowball042  5 лет назад

SB 1960 No, not really. The most important issue is the type of shorts, nothing to do with the size unless you are 10 years old. I’ve been pocket carrying since I weighed 154lbs back in the 90’s. I currently have only two brands/models of shorts that are optimum for carry. Cabelas 8 pocket (discontinued) and Red Head 8 pocket. The later looks like the first but with elastic in the waist. The pockets are made out of the same cotton of the shorts, the pockets have additional pockets on the front that hide the shape of the CCW, the pockets are slightly wider at the opening than other shorts of the same waist size to help the draw. My first cargo shorts that fit the description in the 90’s when I was 154lbs were made by Columbia. (Long ago discontinued). I shy away from tactical shorts since they can give away CCW carry to those who know what to look for.

I can't tell a big difference in recoil and muzzle flip between the two. For me, the Sig has a more comfortable feeling in my hand and I much prefer the trigger on the Sig over the Kahrs. Thus, I shoot the Sig better than I do the Kahr. I think the Kahr has a stiffer recoil spring, which might make it harder for your arthritis. I would recommend the Sig for you over these two.
