I remember when I first heard this song. I sobbed because I had felt so alone and like I had no one to turn to. This musical is really incredible without a doubt
Me too! Then we had to sing it in my high school choir and it was a magical experience in that concert. It felt so amazing singing this song with so many other people in a auditorium filled with family and friends. A wonderful feeling.
Ugh it’s so tough this song has the best music and lyrics, but the lines in “Words Fail” are also incredibly well done. I would recommend listening to that for the message in the lyrics because it’s very good.
One of my favorite parts of this song was at the end when they say “you are not alone” and it slowly starts to sound like they’re saying “you were not alone” it changes the narrative a little bit and I love it
Man i sang this at a choir concert in like... 6th grade? maybe 7th? and it hit so different for so many reasons. hearing everyone beside me singing a song of lonely despair was truthfully poetic in a way.
and yet in that act of singing together it proves that it is a feeling we all share from time to time and in a way find solace in the fact you are not alone :)
There is an incredible mashup of this song and Tonight from Hamilton sung by the respective OG castmembers (and writer for Hamilton) of the musicals, Ben Platt and Lin Manuel Miranda. It is absolutely stunning and I cry almost every time I listen to it.
While this song always makes me cry, my personal favorite of the Dear Even Hanson musical has to be "Requiem"! Maybe you'll get around to reacting to that one some day in the future!
Great song! I will just write my recomendation here: Listen to "Biggering" from The Lorax movie. It is an AWESOME song which unfortunately was cut from the movie. If you wish for a bigger impact listen to It while watching the fananimation Biggering Storyboard (Old Practice)!🥳🥰
Absolutely look at "biggering". it slaps and has a cool animatic videos, on top of being a cancelled song from the movie that needs more visibility. Not to mention it's a rock opera.
I love this musical sooo much! If you want to listen to a more up-beat song but from the same musical you should listen to "Good for you" and "Sincerly, Me". Those are one of my favourites and they could get you more into the story of Dear Evan Hansen 💙 I follow your content from Argentina🇦🇷
The little melody piece at 8:23 is my favorite part of the whole song. Its only in the melody there, in that one moment, but it is actually the recurring "For Forever" melody that says "All we see is sky for forever." If you listen to an instrumental version of this song you can hear this section is longer than it appears, it just breaks out for this moment. Dear Evan Hansen is truly something special. As always, I will suggest "Four Evans sing "For Forever'" ruclips.net/video/I2D_lNXxooU/видео.html
I have recently come across a song that immediately stuck with me and I felt I should at least share it with you, "Gods Whisper" by Raury struck me hard when I first listened to it and in my opinion it's just overall amazing in every way. Weather you listen to it or not just keep doing what you're doing, big fan, love your channel, stay safe and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
Absolutely love this musical and it’s one of the few times I cried a lot through various songs. Probably the one that hit me the hardest was when we learn how Even actually broke his hand
This is exactly the song I needed to hear today. Every time I listen to it, I just start crying and I can't really control it. You were glassy-eyed too, which only goes to show the genius of how this piece is conducted and written. Honestly, every single song in 'Dear Evan Hansen' is like that. Musical freaks roaming the Earth wrote that, like you said so beautifully!
I think this song hits so hard because everyone has had a moment they felt alone and had negative emotions flowing and all they wanted was someone to be there for them and this song basically says I see you I know this feeling and it’ll be okay.
A song I definitely recommend is “Ease My Mind” by Ben Platt. He’s the person who played Evan in the musical, and his voice is just a beautiful thing to listen to
And that’s not even the last song of the musical. When I first listened to the Dear Evan Hansen musical I cried, I wasn’t expecting too cause I’m not a big crier but the songs just hit somewhere
I suggest listening to songs from Come From Away. Specifically “28 Hours/Wherever We Are”, “I Am Here”, and “Me and the Sky.” It’s a relatively new musical about 9/11. I’ve listened too it at least 10 times by now and have cried every time
You Will Be Found is one of my all-time favorite songs. When I first heard it, I cried so hard because of the things that were relevant in my life at the time. I like to go back to that song whenever I need a "pick-me-up," and it truly does wash away the negativity for the time being. (Same with the song, This is Me from The Greatest Showman. Maybe you could react to that too, if you haven't already!) Come to think of it, both songs were written by the same musicians
Good for You is my favorite song from dear Evan hansen and the one that got me into it in the first place, it has a totally different vibe from the two songs you’ve listened to but it’s so so good!
If you’re interested there’s a bunch of songs from DEH that were cut. There’s “A Part of Me” (the first version of YWBF iirc), “Obviously” (the prototype for IICTH) both of which are pretty good.
While I personally get more out of other Dear Evan Hanson songs, this one always brings me to tears. I really think it is the music just as much, if not more than the lyrics. Something about it just touches my soul in a way the others cant, even though a lot of the other songs hold more weight and meaning to me. idk. Magic of music I guess. I really hope you do the rest of the DEH songs. There are some really raw ones in there and "Words Fail" does this beautiful reprise/combination of some of the earlier songs giving the lyrics new meaning in a way that hits so hard. I may have left highschool and the world that fostered these feelings long ago, but hearing the music from DEH, even in my late 20's, was so cathartic and validating. I think this will end up being one of those stories that stands the test of time. I certainly hope more people find it.
ik I already posted a comment, but requiem and good for you are both bangers for their own seperate reasons (also, if you do Requiem, there's a fan version called 'Connors Requiem')
I love this song so much. And seeing it live hit me like a ton of bricks. I'd definitely recommend checking out both requiem and good for you. And maybe disappear. And the four evans singing for forever
I absolutely love your reactions. I discovered your channel during covid and fell in love with your expressiveness and your energy when it comes to music. It's good to see someone out there that's still willing to open themselves up to different genres of music. No matter what the haters say keep going and keep being you! On a side note, Day 3 of asking you to react to Kyoumen no Nami from houseki no kuni. I'd love to see what you think of one of my favorite animr openings of all time. Both English and Japanese dub are great.
He was giving a speech on someone he lied about knowing who had committed suicide. The issue with how great this song is the basis behind him even giving this speech is a lie that he knew the person who committed suicide not only did he claim to know him he was best friends. Now he didn’t claim he knew the person for attention but he got lost in a lie of good intention but even still this musical breaks my heart.
I remember the first time I listened to this song it broke my heart and felt it too deep, really really loved this song. One that I still enjoy a lot when I listen to the musical is "Good for You", and it really makes me feel like the first time ever I listened to the musical. I really recommend to listen to it in the audio of the theater xd I know so much words get lost, but the feeling and the environment in which it was recorded, it really triggers me
I love your guitar bits while just vibing to the song and figuring out cords, honestly wish I had your vocal range and tone while singing because I feel like I try to hard to match the songs tone and octave instead of just doing what's comfortable
I would like to once again request Thomas Sanders! Any songs of his would be nice to request, but my personal favorite is “Crofters the musical” from his sanders sides series!
I'm a month late but this song is so strong for me bc a year ago my small town had its first lgbtq+ pride festival and they had performances and a man sang this song (very well!) and it was really emotional so now when i hear this song that memory is attached to it
I sang this song at my concert and this song hits hard for me I nearly cried during my concert and I cried whenever I heard this song for the first time and I do still cry it is such a good song I love the movie and the musical it was the first one I have ever seen with my friends
Please please please listen to Found Tonight. It is an official mashup of You Will Be Found and The Story Of Tonight from Hamilton. It is so strong. My friend and I performed it for our pop concert. The messaging of there will be more people to hold each other up has such impact in the current climate of the world, and it is gorgeous.
I highly recommend you listen to Part Of Me, a cut song from dear Evan hansen that was essentially the first draft of this song but is very different. It’s a beautiful song and I feel like you’d enjoy it
Ya know what. Every time the train goes by. Play a clip of a Train song. Just because if a train's gonna break your rhythm, YOU SHOULD BREAK THE TRAIN'S RHYTHM.
I just found your channel earlier so I'm hoping I'm doing this request thing right- it would be nothing short of delightful for you to react to Nightwish's "Ghost Love Score" (the live version with Floor Jensen) if you haven't heard it before. One of my favourite songs from one of my favourite bands, it's always wonderful watching reaction videos to it
Ah yes... This song....i can never hear this song without becoming a blubbering mess, but like, in a good way, by far one of the best songs I've ever heard period!
Here's a good one, The Stupendium made a really good tf2 song called The most fashionable faction, I would love to see your reaction. Edit1:tf2 songs in general are really good.
Consider reacting to Spongebob: The Musical songs. Simple Sponge, Bikini bottom Day, Hero is our middle name are all great songs from it, but you'd probably enjoy most things in it! Some Killer artists worked on them, like Panic! At The Disco and John Legend
Please react to either Good Mood (from PAW Patrol the movie) or any Pokémon theme song, specifically Stand Tall, Unbeatable, Pokémon Theme Xy version or my favorite: The journey starts today (full version for all of them please!)
So he's actually speaking up against suicide... one of his classmates had committed suicide, and i think he himself may have thought about it a time before, and he was giving a speech to help prevent another, so really, he was speaking out to the ones who feel so alone they think no one would care if they were "gone" (... in all honesty, I've never actually seen the show, only heard the songs, nor am I going to see the show because a couple songs hit a little too close to home, theater kids, correct me if I'm wrong, but I LOVE this one, Waving Through A Window, If I Could Tell Her, and Sincerely Me... although a note... my last church actually did a sermon on abuse and suicide and they actually DID play this song afterwards... I swear, it makes me cry every time)
Hello again, hope you are going well. I shall continue my efforts to recommend this song until the fires die and rekindles again Day 62: If there is a song that you must listen to, along with the accompanying animation, it has to be We are the Souls by ThePruld. If there is a song that can encompass an entire community it is that song.
hii!!! i would love to hear your opinion on komm susser tod- come sweet death from end of evangelion by ARIANNE, the lyrics are really emotional but its seriously a beautiful piece
Hi David I’m a big fan of your videos I would love for you to listen to Beyond These Walls from Arlo the movie if you have a chance! From your biggest fan, Lyrah

yes!
I recommend you also listen to “Requiem”. It hits so hard. I personally think that it was the only number the movie did well.
Requiem is probably my favourite song from DEH. It just rips my heart out every dang time /pos
Please tell me you’ve reacted to the four Evans singing “For Forever”? They’re singing is actually insane
That powerful song combined with the picture of Penny and Hiccup and Toothless in the Forbidden Friendship scene in the background wrecked me
There is an incredible mashup of this song and Tonight from Hamilton sung by the respective OG castmembers (and writer for Hamilton) of the musicals, Ben Platt and Lin Manuel Miranda. It is absolutely stunning and I cry almost every time I listen to it.
Love Dear Evan Hanson! Good For You is a great song, and so is Disappear. Maybe sometime you could check those out too!
Good for you is the best
While this song always makes me cry, my personal favorite of the Dear Even Hanson musical has to be "Requiem"! Maybe you'll get around to reacting to that one some day in the future!
Same!
The song in context with story makes the song as a whole feel different
Y E P
When a person finds out the context it feels completely different
Bro looked like he was on the verge of tears listening to this. Honestly, me too. Masterpiece, this song is.
Dear Evan Hansen songs are all so soulful, emotional and raw, I love them so much
Thank you for reacting to them!
I'm a former theater kid and this song straight made me cry like a kid with a skinned knee.
Good for you is one of my favorite songs in this show I'd love more reactions!
Great song! I will just write my recomendation here: Listen to "Biggering" from The Lorax movie. It is an AWESOME song which unfortunately was cut from the movie. If you wish for a bigger impact listen to It while watching the fananimation Biggering Storyboard (Old Practice)!🥳🥰

that is SUCH a good song, omg
@@DavidTheHooman Really!? Yay!🥳🤗🥰 Thank you!
I agree with this! Biggering is such an epic song. And the fan animation is amazing.

Oh, I hope you listen to all of Dear Evan Hanson. The music is so good and the context of the musical itself is such an important thing to talk about.
This song hit me HARD! I feel so amazing now! Also you should listen to 30/90, boho days therapy, and louder than word from tick tick boom
Dude your inights are so fun to listen to, I didn't expect to love a breakdown so much but it's amazing
Thank Jaymelee appreciate it

Dear Evan Hansen has many of my comfort songs. I listen to them often when I’m sad and they help me feel better
I love this song so much. And seeing it live hit me like a ton of bricks. I'd definitely recommend checking out both requiem and good for you. And maybe disappear. And the four evans singing for forever
Such an inspirational song!
Such a heart clenching song. I feel so related to this song I cried my heart out
Requiem, Words Fail and For Forever are must listens!!

I sang this song with my University Choir, it was one of our favorites to sing!!

i first heard this song at a concert at BYU. had me in fucking tears.
holy heck that song was powerful~!! it moved me to tears!
I sang this song at my concert and this song hits hard for me I nearly cried during my concert and I cried whenever I heard this song for the first time and I do still cry it is such a good song I love the movie and the musical it was the first one I have ever seen with my friends
Omg finally I was waiting for this reaction 😁😁😁
I legit cry every time I hear this song
6:07 you can see Jeremy and Micheal and (maybe) Cristine from BMC and I think Heather Chandler in the back
If you haven't done it yet, "Good For You" is my favorite DEH song and it would be wonderful to see your reaction!
Please please please listen to Found Tonight. It is an official mashup of You Will Be Found and The Story Of Tonight from Hamilton. It is so strong. My friend and I performed it for our pop concert. I LOVE this song and no one talks about it :)
Ya know what. Every time the train goes by. Play a clip of a Train song. Just because if a train's gonna break your rhythm, YOU SHOULD BREAK THE TRAIN'S RHYTHM.
For some reason, the second half of the song’s change in tempo sounds similar to The Greatest Showman’s “This Is Me.”
Beautiful!😭
You should do 'part of me' sometime! It was an earlier draft of this song and it's also amazing.
You should also listen to Requeim!! It's so beautiful and has such an important message, and it's also from Dear Evan Hansen
Might I recommend you listen to Tom Thumb by Bitter Ruin? Honestly anything by them would be great, their vocals especially are incredible.
"And when you hear that... train."
😂
I just found your channel earlier so I'm hoping I'm doing this request thing right- it would be nothing short of delightful for you to react to Nightwish's "Ghost Love Score" (the live version with Floor Jensen) if you haven't heard it before. Man the feels T^T
I’m gonna cry…..give me a moment ;-;
I saw you reacting to PoppyPlatime songs and I really recommend “In my web” by rocket gaming and Oreo! I cant get it out of my head!
If you love DEH, you need to listen to the Rent musical soundtrack. First musical that ever made me cry.
Ah yes...
This song....i can never hear this song without becoming a blubbering mess, but like, in a good way, by far one of the best songs I've ever heard period!
Can I recommend you try the OP to the anime Ya Boy Kongming? It’s a Japanese cover for of a Hungarian song. Absolutely amazing
A more obscure song, but maybe DeadLine Circus, a Vocaloid song?
I have some song requests can you plz do the most fashionable faction by the stupendium it would really make my day.
I love this song. Please react to more anime openings like all the Black Clover or Symhogear openings.
I really think you should listen to ‘Coin Locker Baby’ by Maretu, it’s a great song and covers a sadly very real issue.
Here's a good one, The Stupendium made a really good tf2 song called The most fashionable faction, I would love to see your reaction.
Edit1:tf2 songs in general are really good.
REACT TO “MERRY GO ROUND OF LIFE” FROM “HOWL’S MOVING CASTLE

Consider reacting to Spongebob: The Musical songs.
Simple Sponge, Bikini bottom Day, Hero is our middle name are all great songs from it, but you'd probably enjoy most things in it!
Some Killer artists worked on them, like Panic! At The Disco and John Legend
we did a few of them actually, we did the big pearl number and THE AMAZING OPENING NUMBER
I know its been a while but I think you should react to a lumity song called "Just Friends" It's an amazing song I think you would really enjoy it 🥺🙏
Please react to either Good Mood (from PAW Patrol the movie) or any Pokémon theme song, specifically Stand Tall, Unbeatable, Pokémon Theme Xy version or my favorite: The journey starts today (full version for all of them please!)
I’d love to see you react to ParanoidDJ’s Hazbin Hotel fan song “We’re sure to Drown” if this isn’t a banger I don’t know what is!
Can you react to BYU Noteworthy's "I Can Only Imagine" and "You Say"? Those girls have some good vocals that I'm sure you'll like
6:08 omg is that michael mell and jeremy heere 🤨
You should listen to one last time from Hamilton
So he's actually speaking up against suicide... one of his classmates had committed suicide, and i think he himself may have thought about it a time before, and he was giving a speech to help prevent another, so really, he was speaking out to the ones who feel so alone they think no one would care if they were "gone"
(... in all honesty, I've never actually seen the show, only heard the songs, nor am I going to see the show because a couple songs hit a little too close to home, theater kids, correct me if I'm wrong, but I LOVE this one, Waving Through A Window, If I Could Tell Her, and Sincerely Me... although a note... my last church actually did a sermon on abuse and suicide and they actually DID play this song afterwards... I swear, it makes me cry every time)
😭 dang know that makes it hit a bit different!
Can you listen to Karma by AJR?! I really want to hear your opinion on that song, it’s personally my favorite song as of right now

either that or words fail, it hits different and it hurts but i love it
Hello again, hope you are going well. I shall continue my efforts to recommend this song until the fires die and rekindles again
Day 62: If there is a song that you must listen to, along with the accompanying animation, it has to be We are the Souls by ThePruld. If there is a song that can encompass an entire community it is that song.
I suggest “Long time friends” By The Living Tombstone!
attempt 2
please listen to "Poor Man's Poison - Feed the Machine" no one has reacted to it, that I can find. It's one of the few country songs I like.
Im starting this: First day suggesting "wooden girl thousand year wiegenlied by mothy" (pls with eng sub)

hii!!! i would love to hear your opinion on komm susser tod- come sweet death from end of evangelion by ARIANNE, the lyrics are really emotional but its seriously a beautiful piece
Me: I haven’t been found yet ✌️😚
Real in Rio
Hi David I’m a big fan of your videos I would love for you to listen to Beyond These Walls from Arlo the movie if you have a chance! From your biggest fan, Lyrah
