- Hey everyone, it's been a long time since my last upload. I'm currently writing my Master thesis and am having a quiet busy time at work, so I was forced to have little break from composing. It was getting a bit too much having five or six projects outside of the field of music with their own deadlines simultaneously and that doesn't support creativity.
I got back to my workstation for making music again a week ago to see how it feels. Well, it was fantastic! So I decided to do something rather unusual for me and tried a little cover of one of my all-time game soundtrack favorites - the OST of the SNES game "Terranigma"! I chose "Dark Side Field" because I really can dive deep into the emotional, yet suspenseful feel of this overworld theme and didn't want to edit the whole piece too much, because I think it really is perfect as it is. But I tried to give it my own little personal touch, so I'm really excited to hear what you think! Maybe, if you like it, I can try to work on another track from that game ;).
The outstanding soundtrack of Terranigma was originally composed by Miyoko Kobayashi (Takaoka) and Masanori Hikichi.

Terranigma's soundtrack is incredible, and I'm glad to have found someone who not only seems to agree to that but also has the ability to make an orchestral remaster of it! This version is really good, but I'm not sure if I like this one or the Malcolm Robinson one better. I would describe this one as more cinematic which is what I think Roman is going for. The Malcolm Robinson one has a softer and more melancholic feel to it.
The original Terranigma OST is already awesome but thise one melts my heart
So many covers that didn't do it right but this one absolutely nailed it. The nods to the bass, the instrumentation, and finally the explosive moment of triump or the acceptance of a greater journey made me fist pump and go "fuck yes!, they got it!"

This is a top quality track. It brings a tear to my eye listening to this. I just hope one day we'll finally get a Terranigma remake. It deserves to be known!

Terranigma is a game I enjoyed a lot growing up, it means a lot to me. Thank you for creating such an amazing cover of one my favorite RPG’s. I have so many fond memories of this game and it's OST and you capture everything that made the OST special. A remake with your music is something I’d literally throw money at.

To give a little spoiler: yes, all your reactions to this track motivated me to actually work on another Terranigma cover that will be released no later than Sunday this week. It takes a little while to get going, but when it does... wow.
Just like the game. It started off slowly but once in it - overwhelmingly beautiful and sad and nice and just wow.
It never got the love it deserved.
Nur 1000 likes, das ist traurig :-( ich weiß, dieses Spiel ist ein absoluter Geheimtipp für jeden Gamer, und aufgrund seiner kleinen Auflage hat es das nicht in jedes Regal geschafft, aber ich hoffe wirklich dass du und das Spiel irgendwann die Anerkennung erhaltet die ihr verdient.
Terranigma ist meiner meinung nach (und ich habe wortwörtlich tausende gespielt) das beste RPG das ich je gesehen habe. Die tiefe und emotionale Größe des Spiels ist unfassbar, kaum ein Game hat mich so oft zum Lachen und weinen gebracht. Mit diesem Spiel können selbst heutzutage produzierte AAA Titel nicht mithalten, wenn man die Grafik ausser acht lässt.

Terranigma is honestly such an underrated game, or maybe not underrated since pretty much all of the people who HAVE played it love it as much as i do, more like its underplayed and underappreciated by the masses

Ich hab irgendwo mal gelesen, dass die US-Fassung wegen der Fusion von Enix mit Squaresoft nicht mehr fertig wurde, da Enix USA aufgelöst wurde.
@@Klonx Das ist leider nicht korrekt. Die Fusion fand erst 2003 statt, Terranigma erschien bereits 1996. Tatsächlich wurde das Spiel nicht mehr in den USA released, da die neue Konsolengeneration ins Haus stand und man sich keine großen Gewinne ausrechnete. Auch wenn die Urban Legend besagt, dass dies aus religiösen Gründen passiert wäre. Dies hätte im schlimmsten Fall jedoch lediglich zu Änderungen geführt, wie sie in anderen Spielen bereits auftraten, wo z.B. Kreuze entfernt und durch Statuen ersetzt wurden, etc.
