  • Just received this WS2812 LED matrix.
    This video is an overview on how to connect this matrix with Arduino.
    Also I am trying to write the most basic code to lit this matrix up.
    Hopefully videos with more sofisticated use of those components would follow.

    Thanks so much, Mario, your tutorial was great! I just got it working on an ESP32 and ESP8266. Only one thing I needed to adjust -- my LED matrix is WS2812B, so I adjusted the matrix type from default WS2812. Worked great (though that little tip took me almost an hour!)

    $ 4 for such a module is actually a bargain, clever idea with diffusion panel, looks nice !

    Thank you for video. In tinkercad if you take one object and duplicate it, and move that new object on its new place, just press ctrl+D and it will duplicate another one and it will palce it with same distance as you have 2 older objects already. Just a small precise trick I use.

      @First.Last.99 2 года назад

      Also if you print white surface very thin you will have more precise and more visible borders in-between leds

    Man i odered a couple these with no plans i often buy random stuff to later look up and see what i can do. Why? IDK. Anyway I dont have a power supply but have a nother cheap set of LED lights that has a USB one that i could maybe take apart? Advice? Or just order and wait?
    Also any idea on how i could make like a decent sized panel out of these? how to drive power for that many or are there better panels for that? Thanks!

    Mario. This is great, well done! However I cannot locate LedMatrixControl version 1.3.1. I have found another version (1.1.5) but it does not have the FastLED export feature. Can you help? Thanks !

      The video is old so you should not stick to that particular version. Google fast led and github and you should get the link to the latest verion of that library. The you go to CODE->Download zip

    Ive got a question, I ordered one online and it just came in today. I know basics of code and how to solder and stuff. My plate is a little diffrent then yours. Instead of DIN +5V etc it says: V- IN V+ and the other three V- OUT V+. What is what? I guess IN = DIN and OUT = DOUT. but makes that +5V the V+ and the GND the V-?

    This is a really great video. I've tried to solder the pins like you did but it doesn't work. It doesn't get any current. Are you using a special type of wire for your arduino? Thanks

    Bro can you use Xd-74 sounds sensor to make the that led matrix become VU meter

    • @marios_ideas
      @marios_ideas  3 года назад

      Does Xd-74 has analog output. In this case yes. If it is digital that you have either sound detected or no sound detected so not much of the VUmeter

      @@marios_ideas to be honest, I'm not sure what I would use one for apart from this. It does seem a little strange that AliExpress is full of people selling ws2812b 8x8 boards but nobody is selling a diffuser overlay for it...
