    • @BeckyTregear
      @BeckyTregear  3 года назад +2

      Thank you! Yes, I'd say the Inktense are a bit more difficult than watercolours, but not too bad really. It is just that drying and not budging thing which can be a problem, lol. That yellow looks so green when dry, even in the pencil and block! It's a strange one.

    Hi, thanks the review. Have been playing with the Inktense pencils for a bit, but was considering the block until I saw the pans. I really enjoyed your review and pushed me over the edge to get a set. Why Inktense? Here is SW VIC near Warrnambool (and other parts of Australia!) the colours around the paddocks, nature, and the Southern Ocean can get really saturated in the different lights and watercolours struggle and pastels are great… but these look great for Plein air work. Thanks again.

      I prefer these pans to the blocks, for sure! I have the block set too but they get so messy, haha. I love the landscape around SW VIC - we visited Warrnambool a few years ago, and drove down through Port Fairy to Portland. We've driven the Great Ocean Road a few times too - I can't get enough of it. ❤

    White inktense is wonderful and it the best part of this pallet (unlike traditional watercolour). It is opaque, you can use if for highlights. You can mix it with colours to make your own pastels. Or you can correct mistakes with it and paint over it once dry.

    Hey... after watching this video I went to blick and noticed that there is the 12 set, the 24 set, but then I went to count the single pans, to make sure they had the 24 colors, but to my surprise there are 27 single pans... soooo.. I wonder, which are those 3 extra colors?!... I'm gonna go see each color to understand how is that possible, since in this video you showed the 12 set colors are in the 24 set.... right?! Or am I mistaken?!....
    Anyways, let me go check again.... I just wanted to comment this before I went all nerdy about it on Blick 😅😅😅😅😅
    Brb 😂😂😂😂
    UPDATE:
    Well, Im back and yes! There are 3 more colors available open stock.
    I dont understand why!
    For me and my OCD that is annoying cause, if I decided to buy all the colors, where am I supposed to place them? Is not easy having OCD.... not joking about it!
    If I want to buy, I would HAVE to buy the 24 set, the 3 extra colors, and then, place them all together in a different palette! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I know is silly, but.... OCD 😅
    Anyway, the THREE colors that are NOT INCLUDED in any of their 2 sets are:

    The more you know.... 😅

    Very interesting, I have seen these before. Are they meant to be like watercolors or do you think they are just like the inktense blocks but made to fit pans? I always thought they were the same as the blocks but maybe I'm wrong. I know the white block is a lot more opaque then that white though.

    • @BeckyTregear
      @BeckyTregear  3 года назад +2

      They are close to the blocks but in separate tests they do paint out quite a bit different. Also some of the pan colour names are different and aren't in the pencils or blocks sets. I might do a follow up comparison video because I didn't want to include it all in this one and make it confusing. 😬

    Perhaps this should be called watercolor inks instead. Inks are stark and vibrant. Watercolors is subtle and suggestive. Comparing this to regular watercolor doesn’t do justice to the full splendour of inks.

    • @BeckyTregear
      @BeckyTregear  2 года назад

      They kind of feel somewhere in between. Nowadays a lot of watercolours are extremely vibrant too - especially from professional brands. But they also act like inks too, so watercolour inks is also a good name for them. 🙂
