Actually, it’s been 3 times; I think it was 2017 or so maybe when they did the same thing in the teens with either the Ravens or Saints maybe, can’t remember for certain!
The best part is that it happened in back to back years. In 02, they passed on Ryan Sims and drafted Bryant McKinnie. The next year they passed on Byron Leftwich and drafted Kevin Williams
This channel is to high quality to have this little subs. Actual clips, ever to understand, no yelling into the camera and trying to make bad jokes, etc. You got a sub
I remember there’s a weird rules video by Secret Base which mainly covers the rule of what happens when you run out of time and talking about how the Ravens just never called it in
I wonder if a team will ever try to use this strategically after seeing how well it can work out. It's basically forcing a 1-for-1 trade down which can help a cap-heavy team to find a guy that works within their budget if they can't find a good enough trade partner. They can essentially just sit and wait until right before another team with similar needs is about to get the guy they want, and then jump in for them rather than having to spend the higher pick and more money on them just to make sure they get them at all.
Terrell Suggs was arrested last week. For getting in an altercation at a Starbucks drivethru. Showed a gun to someone and threatened to kill them. And struck their car with his too.
Back in the late 80s early 90s, the Browns had two players whom they couldn't decide upon, and the Oilers picked next. When the Browns time went off the clock, if I remember correctly the Oilers ran up to the podium and said really fast that they drafted Lorenzo White. The Browns then took Clifford Charlton. Or maybe I have the draft positions in reverse.
No, Red did not change his mind at the last minute when he woke up that morning because of budget concerns. He already knew the budget and cash flow problems. He did that because he was a mercurial, erratic guy.
If you own a sports team, you're going to lose money. That's a given. The only reasons to buy a team is if you love the game and to win. You have to be OK with losing money for a long time.
So many expenses it’s insane for owners, but tax season they get to write off the entire purchase of their teams. You don’t have to pay barely anything for taxes at that point
Our offensive line was never the same after gross retired I thought Ickey after year one was it but idk this sophomore slump is so unbelievably bad I just don’t know where he goes from this point it can’t be worse
How does a professional football team not work out at least the first 5 rounds of their draft board? You should have an idea of where guys are gonna go i.e. what round they fall in do you should have 3-6 players per round that you’re interested in drafting. Just wild.
If they know the team below them is taking, and it’s not your guy, wouldn’t you save money by waiting? Example would be the chiefs at 32, eating to around 35 to get Xavier worthy because he should be more around 40th overall. Save some money
@@williamdombrowski7246@williamdombrowski7246 Yeah, I looked into it. Eli Manning was the best example I could find. He demanded a trade, or otherwise, he wasn't going to play for the Chargers.
In fantasy football you just get an autopick based on a standard big board. And many times an autopicked team ends being better than the team you were going to draft trying to be smart.
Bruh what’s ur issue, what would we be the point of video if it was only 3 sentences of info? It’s called telling a story. And that’s why hes thriving and ur saving seconds. They made TikTok for u.
@ I don’t have TikTok, I have no desire to download it. I don’t need to waste my time with it. But it sounds like you have it. Also, what’s YOUR issue? You’re responding 9 months later to my valid statement. Fans saw this happen live in 2003. They bring it up every year at draft time. We know what happens when a team misses its slot.
I thought if you ran out of time in the draft it just auto picks the best player and sims to the next team
💀💀
😂it’s not fantasy football
bro thinks we in madden
Me in madden be like:
This ain’t madden bro 💀
The fact that the Vikings did this twice and still got quality players says something.
🤣
😂
They had a coin toss and let the other team make the call
Actually, it’s been 3 times; I think it was 2017 or so maybe when they did the same thing in the teens with either the Ravens or Saints maybe, can’t remember for certain!
What 😂😂😂
The Vikings learned this the hard way. Remember watching this live, just thinking "How do you mess THIS up"
🤣🤣
Only we could 😔
No one wanted to trade up to their spot and they thought if they let other teams draft their picks they could pay their draft pick less.
@MinnesotaSportsFan4life atleast you have best wr in the league
@@Yeetly we had the beast of all time and still couldn’t win 😔
You are not just another sports channel. You are the best. Incredible work.
Wow! Thanks for the support man, honestly!
Kevin Williams scored the first Vikings touchdown that I watched live
That's dope!
Kevin Williams needs to be in the HOF tbh
The best part is that it happened in back to back years. In 02, they passed on Ryan Sims and drafted Bryant McKinnie. The next year they passed on Byron Leftwich and drafted Kevin Williams

I was here before your channel blew up
I was in shock when it happened in 2002. I was LMAO when it happened again in 2003.
🤣

I have drinks with Rob on a regular basis at our neighborhood bar and let’s just say he still has PTSD from this draft.
🤣 that's cool
@@AnotherSportsChannelI’ll definitely show him this when I see him next. He’ll love it! 👏

@The-NFL-is-RIGGED you clearly didn’t watch the video lol
@The-NFL-is-RIGGED have you considered psychiatric help?
@The-NFL-is-RIGGED my original comment provided more substance than anything you have said thus far.
idk if anyone has done this and i dont know if its common but i think a good video idea would be like “ unexpected 1st round 1st picks “
Dude this is crazy good ngl
Appreciate it 🙏

Can’t believe how well that worked out that’s amazing lol
as someone from minnesota & a vikings fan im not shocked this happened to them lol
I remember watching this live and thinking what just happened here.
🤣
As a Ravens fan, I'm forever grateful that the trade never went through. That would have been the stupidest thing in team history.
Damn, because of the Vikings mistake both the Vikings and ravens got a stud player
New sub😊
Aye! 💪
ESPN or something should hire you or something bro absolutely gross(meaning amazing) video
🤣 my guy, appreciate it
People gonna find this channel soon!!!!
💪
Man, the 2003 Vikings really knew how to screw things up. That was also the year they had that infamous late season collapse.
My cowboys just love fucking with the Vikings
Crazy to think that through the chaos of the 2003 draft, T-Sizzle would go to the Ravens and have a hall-of-fame career.
Damn, actually never really thought about this
😎

You're joking, right? Buying an nfl team is the safest investment in America
The CPU picks for them
McKinney was a better pick in '02
Kevin Williams was great pick in '03
Moral of the story..... Don't rush
The football version of Jimmy Highroller
it turns out that the jaguars were jamming the phone lines so the ravens couldn't report the trade, allowing leftwich to fall to them
💀
That’s the second most painful thing to happen to Minnesota in 2003.
Our offensive line was never the same after gross retired I thought Ickey after year one was it but idk this sophomore slump is so unbelievably bad I just don’t know where he goes from this point it can’t be worse
Can't forget about Ryan Kalil either. I miss those years.......... sigh
@@AnotherSportsChannel I mean we should be an improved OL but idk it’s been a real issue for years it feels like
It’s like jxmmyhighroller style but for football, I like it
🤔 not mad at that at all lol

I'm new to all of this NFL and it's system, and it's far too complicated to what I think it would be!
Interesting. I guess the Vikings owner won a little as well. With the lower draft pick it cost marginally less to sign Kevin Williams originally.
The Vikings franchise was worth $200m, that's crazy low especially after that 2000 season a few years earlier.
Vikings ended up with 2 awesome players in both drafts tho!
please make more
oh boy, this takes me down memory lane of me and my mom (Viking fans) yelling at the tv and calling them dumbass as my dad (Packer fan) laughed at us.
🤣 nice story

I always wondered what happens if a player doesn't want to play for the team he is drafted to.
They break they own leg mid season
@@williamdombrowski7246@williamdombrowski7246 Yeah, I looked into it. Eli Manning was the best example I could find. He demanded a trade, or otherwise, he wasn't going to play for the Chargers.
Can we please stop that fake emotional hugging after ever draft pick.
Denny Green said those Vikings were who he thought they were.
Classic call back! Lol
Omg you are JxmmyHighroller for the NFL
They don't run out of time, they have a picks already chosen.
As a Vikings fan, yup this explains our culture ha ha
In fantasy football you just get an autopick based on a standard big board. And many times an autopicked team ends being better than the team you were going to draft trying to be smart.
the cowboys will probably do this during all seven rounds to go with the "all in, my ass" storyline
It’s crazy that Mel kiper has been around for so long and still sucks at his job lol
Vikings somehow ended up getting longtime franchise players both years they passed 😂
The idea a owner not making money and selling a team . When the value of the team has gone up 10 times in value and revenue in the last 20 years
moral of the story: what’s meant to be will be.
Screw the Ravens, but it worked out for the Vikings, Mount McKinney and half the Williams wall was the way to go.
I know it’s Vikings focused but it definitely sounds like it’s the Ravens fault. Vikings called and Ravens didn’t it sounds like.
troy polamalu was drafted by the steelers. dawg
So glad the ravens got suggs
Crazy circumstances lol
We’ve seen it happen with the Vikings. The next team up makes the choice. That’s it. There. Now we don’t have to watch the video for 11:43.

Oh the answer to that question is everyone makes fun of your team for at least the next six months. :p
