Birdie - A Laughing Dove - May 2020

Birdie, as we have named her, is a wild Laughing Dove who sleeps every night in her nest, in her own bedroom, in our home. She has done so for the past two-and-a-half years, as at December 2020.
She comes and goes as she pleases, through a window left permanently ajar for her to use.
Birdie flew into our lives unexpectedly and uninvited. We do not feed her. She seeks only our company and has "adopted" us.
She has formed a strong bond of friendship with me, which is awe-inspiring and spiritual.
As at the 31st December 2020, Birdie has laid 74 unfertilized eggs in her nest in our home, approximately two every three weeks. We have kept all of them.
