You can film it but not bothering and repeatedly touching the mom nor her chicks. That’s why one of them left the nest too early

Laughing doves are tolerant for that. They can accept touching their babies if it's not too frequent. I had four nests on my balconies and I always touch the babies (who can resist, to be honest!) And feed the parents. They never abandoned the babies.

This advice only applies to certain animals, but not to birds. Birds do not have a very good sense of smell and they don't rely on scent to identify their babies. As long as the babies stay in the nest and don't go too far away from their nest when they're ready to leave it, the parent birds would come back for their babies.

    Cute chicks!
They usually come back to the nest area for several days, and their parents accompany them for at least a week to show them how to look for food and water. If they don't come back at all perhaps something scared them away.
